    This was extremely helpful. Thank you very much. However, I was unable to remove the bolts connecting the radiator to the AC compressor by the underneath method you describe at 21:36. It was pretty darn frustrating. Then I realized I could just remove the fans off the radiator and would have plenty of room to access those bolts from the top. I installed the new radiator in reverse by bolting it to the ac condenser BEFORE installing the fans--I definitely bent a few fins on my new radiator with my socket handle doing it this way, but oh well. (I now see this alternative was suggested by Keith Franch in the comments, although not so politely.)

      John McClellan well the bottom line is you got it done and it is working, the old saying is there is more then 1 way to skin a cat can certainly apply to auto repair, thanks for watching and commenting, we do appreciate the feedback very much!!

      I came here just to find out how to do these bolts, and whether they were on both sides. He answered the second question, but completely glossed over the first. I'm going back out to pull my fans, so I can get those bolts out.
      Update: Got the fans out. Got the radiator out (it helped to also pull the left headlight...just three bolts). Getting the fans back on the new radiator, once it was installed, was a bear, though. Test fit them before installing the radiator. The mounting ears didn't want to align with the quick nut on the condenser. After lots of cursing and prying, I made it fit.

    Mine was leaking from the same location but on the back side. Also, the A/C quit before the engine visibly overheated. And yes, I was parked and running the A/C at the time.

    One of my fan propeller’s broke and now it kind of makes a vibrating when the fans turn on but runs perfectly fine and is always showing it’s cool. Should I even bother replacing it?

    Very informative video. My 2002 Sonata is showing the same exact symptoms. So now I can do this myself with this video.

    Hi ,should be working both of those fan motor at the same time?in my car only one works, thanks for your answer

    • @APDTY
      @APDTY  5 лет назад +1

      Celio Swiss Knives CSK yes both fans should be working when the ac is on, if only one, then most likely that other fan is failed and the cooling ability can be weak.

    Hey, know this is an old video, but i'm having trouble with my Sonata's ac. Same year and engine. No cold air even though there's no coolant leaks, the radiator seems fine, the compressor isn't locked up, but when I press the ac button in the cabin, neither radiator fan comes on even though both should come on when the ac is on. Only one ever comes on, but only when the engine idles for awhile and gets really hot, not because the ac is on if that makes sense. For some reason I don't know why the fans don't come on when the button is on. Knowing at least one of the fans is "good" in that it turns on at some point to cool the engine, is there a place you'd start to see why they don't turn on when the ac is on? Is there a wire or connector you could at least point me to, to check first? I'm at my wit's end and don't have a lot of $ for a mechanic. Thanks!

    I did that, but my fans are not functioning properly. ..what tip will you give me... because they use to work perfectly before. did I didn't connect right one of the plugs.

    • @APDTY
      @APDTY  5 лет назад

      Tricia Rod we’ll both fans must be connected to work, they are pretty simple, if they are getting 12 volts, then they should be running, both fans should be running with the ac on, if the ac is off, then the vehicle may only command one fan to be on and nothing may be wrong.

    • @APDTY

      noel tello so coolant leaks are best found with a pressure tester, you can pressurize the cooling system without running the engine which is safer, if you prefer you can have a shop perform the pressure test so they can tell you what is leaking and then you can decide if you want to fix that yourself.

    Sorry BROTHER but your doing that the hard way.. Just pull the fans out of the front then go after the 2 mounting bolts and the 2 fluid lines and lower radiator hose. Doing that from the bottom is the difficult way to do things.. How will you ever get the 2 side 10mm bolts back into the bracket ?? And please stop talking so much.. This video should have been 15 minutes but you turned it into almost 45 minutes because your yacking about things people already know... Must give you a big thumbs down.. sorry

    • @korn38ktm
      @korn38ktm 7 лет назад

      Almost every video needs to be shorter but you can skip if you can learn
      Most cars that is the hard way you describe
      Only since it has 3 upper accessible fan bolts and that's it
      I've done it both ways and both are easy

    • @korn38ktm
      @korn38ktm 7 лет назад

      the DF 10mm usually doesn't even fit any 1/4" drive sockets so did you just wrench on it +keith Franch ? sounds like the hard way
      or turn her down on a lathe and its all good?

    • @korn38ktm
