Random question, but does the M1 air turn on without being in the chassis. And battery not connected?
Hi there. im in Zimbabwe, not a very techy guy, but I got involved in an accident on a very rainy day in January, and my macbook Air 2020 M1 got soaked. The Apple specialists here in Zimbabwe checked it and they just said, the cost of fixing it is almost as good as replacing it. So im stuck with it and dont know technically what died since Jan. it could be the whole mother board and screen im not sure but all i know is it wont switch on. At what point do you determine that, its beyond replaceable and are there any tips you could recommend to fix it?

I have the exact same issues and symptoms and got to the part where you did in your video where it turned on without the audio board. I am about to order that audio board and it's looking like it's north of $100. Is it true the touch ID doesn't work after I replace this part? I also find it weird that you can have that part gone, battery disconnected, and I can still run my computer without the right speaker and without touch id and a battery. It's so weird. I just reversed everything and now nothing works again because I don't have parts to make the circuit, obviously. So, I sit and wait. thanks.
The touch ID should still be ok as long as the power button connection and logicboard are ok. Replacing the audio board shouldn't impact it

hey if i connect the type c tester on the main motherboard i get 5v 0.04 amper and after 3-4 sec amper goes to 0 that mean the main motherboard are shorted?

That can be a lot of things. Do you get the same on each port? Does the board have any corrosion? Check the CD3217s, and ISL9240 and see. Check PPBUS_AON . Also it can be stuck in DFU mode.

Can we modified this MacBook air m1 to be more splash proof..? Like add some protectiom Mod, at least will survive liquid spill from a cup.
I don't believe any retail laptop has ever been considered waterproof. The best design against water was the panasonic toughbook but even that wasn't waterproof. These are electronics with motherboards, ports, lcds and are very fragile to water let alone electricity. if there is an opening, water will find its way.
Put your coffee behind it always not to sides, then it spills away from the laptop?
Mac book air = the reasoning for air is the lightness of it, the macbook air was to show how light it was compared to those other laptops...

My MacBook Air M1 is not charging. It also not turning on after removing battery and power button line. Main logic board has no power 😢😢. Is this can be fix brother??
I have the same issue. Everything working fine, only the charging is not working. Apple SC quoted $500 to replace the logic board 😞
