A lot of things related to objects have randomness in them, which is generated based on system time(or some other factor that is not deterministic) so you couldn't do the whole game in one take. You can usually just segment the luck based parts with fairly good results.
You really get a sense of how big the world in HL2 is when you're flying over it at 300 mph.

they do for speed-runners. You can be holding records for both TAS and normal speedruns by just beating them by milliseconds.
