As soon as you said 'I'm adding the hot sauce', I started to laugh as I knew the hiccups were coming. lol. Great video Dan as usual, always cheer me up mate.
So about 4 years ago I used to check in to your channel all the time, then drifted away from RUclips for a while. Its absolutely lovely to see how far you have come buddy. I started a channel too, bushcraft sadly wasn't for me for a channel, I used to get too drunk and the videos would have been trash so I decided on photography. I remember your fire you made, I think it was out of a wheel. massive respect for keeping at it buddy, you're an inspiration now, probably to a lot of people! :)
Definitely think these meal reviews are better done outdoors in the woods. Adds a more realistic feel to the video. Thanks again for some useful info and recommendations, Dan.
We enjoy your videos very much. You are the only youtuber we watch who actually says Thank you. All others end their videos by telling us to like & subscribe but don't say Thank you for anything; watching the video to the end, giving a thumbs up or subscribing. Take care and stay safe out there.
Good video Dan but how can the cost of that pack be justified. Giving that a miss, thanks for reviewing it and glad you paid £20 and not me, keep up the good work.
To be fair, some ready meals like such can relatively cost 10-20 euro or pounds. At least with this you get far more bang or your buck. Just my opinion but I think it's a great deal.
Thanks Dan, my favourite Drytech food is the Reindeer Stew! Worth every penny and apart from the odd Ration Pack meal imho there’s not a freeze dried out there to beat it! ATB from deepest Dorset 👍
Great vid,Dan. Love these ration pack vids, especially when you get one that you’re not keen on. £20.00 is just too much though, for what you’re getting. I’ll stick to my British Army 24 hour ration packs for £7.00 each, from Strikeforce Uk,I think. Give ‘em a try. ‘Cheap as chips’. All the best.
The Price is the only thing that puts me off of those " Turmat " meals , they do some Strange combinations of food !. , Take care Dan , and see you on the Next one ! 😊☝
Same with me, I've wanted to try the kebab stew and reindeer stew since I saw them on Steve1989MREInfo's channel, and Girl Outdoors also swears by them, but they are at least £5 more just for the meals than a Summit to Eat meal or something like that.
I really love these packs. Also the best before dates are only for the bars and candy... the meals are much longer good....they have a different date on them its printed on the top of the bag. I love the chicken curry.... all the packs have different extras. Sometimes there also breath with nutella in it.... love it!
Love these Dan gives us all an insight into some ration packs that we may purchase in the future thanks for that. All the very best 👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴
£20 :o seriously? there is no way on this earth I'd pay that much for an already out of date single meal single coffee (and not a lot else) ration pack, you can see where the money goes with them, it's all packaging and pseudo survival rubbish, compare that to a £10 uk ration pack and you'll see a massive difference, good video as always though ;) keep up the good work
That drink thing: 3dl = 3 decilitres = 300ml. Continental Europe seems to use decilitres and centilitres a fair bit, whereas us Brits seem to jump straight from millilitres up to litres.
@@englishwoodsman 300dl is 300ml. Try the reindeer stew or the chilli con carne, both excellent. The Norwegian arctic rat packs made by Drytech A/S also make the civilian Turmat meals, also excellent but expensive.
Hi 😀 Thank you for showing us the ration pack, your face was funny with the hot sauce 😀 Same here as the person below, I like my milk and sugar in coffee and tea 😀 Ive subscribed 😀

Currently 5 for £60 on basecamp. Just about reasonable at that I think, not a chance I’d be paying £20. I was at new decathlon store at Bolton t’other day, grabbed a few of their dehydrated meals, looking forward to giving them a whirl.
£20 is a rip off for one meal and a few snacks, Dan. Personally I think you would be better cooking something at home that you can bag up or put in a Tupperware type container to warm up on the camp fire and then take your coffee or hot chocolate fixings. Plenty of cheap protein bars can be kept for a long time in your rucksack just in case you get peckish while walking and forget to pack them. I always used to have a few of them and tea bags coffee and those individual milk pods in my laptop rucksack at at a clients workplace someone will always be happy to give you hot water but you can do yours yourself.
Are you sure there is enough food in those baggies for you? I like my food as well and plenty of it although I do admit that on a backpacking trip last year I did do the rehydrate meals and it wasn't as bad as I had thought it might be.

Always enjoy your honest reviews mate, thanks again for posting and don't worry... The burps and the hiccups are just another demonstration of honesty so let em go... Lol 👌
I have the pasta bolognaise and the chicken tikka for a trip at the end of the month. Should be good. They are basically Real Turmat packs and I find them and bla band to be the tastiest of the dehydrated food. The Scandinavians seem to have cracked it as far as food goes.
Nice quick video mate but £19 odd for that poxy lot? Absolute rip off Dan, I personally try to make my own as best I can using mylar bags, that way I've got a great chunky meal to look forward to to heat up for tea time. Actually, there's a challenge for you, do a few vids trying to make your own rat pack bud.
The chicken curry has to be one of the worse freeze dried meals I've ever tasted...over strong taste and the meat was like soggy stripes of pork scratching 🤮 the only good thing in it was the peach drink available at base camp food for £1.50 separately a bit steep I guess
Too costly, too much plastic, 2 months out of date, and no whitener, sugar or tea and not enough coffee either. Apart from that ...............Enjoy the video's Dan but these meals are a rip off.
I see your point but many people out there like my self like using the ration pack meal plus I enjoy making video about them. But I can see where your coming from
As soon as you said 'I'm adding the hot sauce', I started to laugh as I knew the hiccups were coming. lol. Great video Dan as usual, always cheer me up mate.
1 dl (or dcl) = 1 decilitre, or 100 millilitres. Relatively common measure in Europe, not much in the UK

Great video Dan. Much appreciated. Must admit though I cracked up laughing at the chilli part 🤦♀️🤣

I bet the British Army rat packs for £7.00 each, dated to 2023.
All the best.
nice one dan 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I find them specialised meals a bit expensive for that they are. Preppers shop uk sell MRE for just a couple of quid each, some of them are very nice.
