Ever since I started to listen to SSPU, I would say "Kissing Families" is my favorite song from them. Thanks for the video upload!
Dots and dashes is a dead tie with it!
Royal We for me. kissing families a strong Numero dos. So good.
Sucks that almost no one ever got to hear them in the grand scheme of things. So unbelievably great.
Such an underrated band, Incredible
Ah the good old underrated band bs... Sure bud.............. Yep, they are oh so underrated.......................................................
The guitar solo in this still gives me chills. Every single time.
Brian and Nikki are incredible guitar players and they vocal great together, not many bands have that connection, they feed off each other , hands down one of the best bands live, they are sick!
I am loving this live performance version of Silversun Pickups-Kissing Families. The original video itself is so unique.
Best version yet! OMG!
It must be hard to put out so much energy in such a mellow song. Like they’re really working it for a song that actually so smooth
It's actually hard to stay smooth. Every second you want to scream your head off
@@MetaLeir93 this. I can barely keep my mouth shit listening.
Is it me or every song they did on this episode was Epic! man he gave it all he had , most bands on here don't put that much in to it ,awesome!
These guys picked up where the smashing pumpkins left off - and yes they have also developed their own sound and style. Amazing !!
Like modest mouse and pumpkins had a baby
Could you imagine this band with Jimmy Chamberlin?
@@Nervous29 i really can't - Chris Guanlao is the proper drummer for SSPU. I dropped the SP comparisons years ago, they really have their own vibe
Hmm, I've never considered SSPU to be like the Pumpkins.
I think SSPU have a sound that's a little more accessible to more people.
I personally think you either love the Smashing Pumpkins or hate them. (I love them).
As much as I like SSPU the band never felt as "do or die" to me.
@@spillsndebris its mainly Brians vocals that compare with Billy Corgans
I don't know but I love this song, when the last part of the song, the voice, the solo guitar, the scream is amazing, IDK!
I meet this band 11 years ago, when I was 29. And I think they are such a good band.
I am just glad they're confident about things. This man's spirit is active, and go lucky.
Absolutely amazing
Stop the season stop the sting
A plastic mic a broken string
Infected wound from a rusty ring
Soon you'll be there too
Kissing families can't recall
A program to derail us all
Forgotten prison it's been safe 'til now
It's no wonder that we did it this way
Keep looking forward on paths sideways
It's everything that is connected and beautiful
And now i know just where i stand
Move on
Roll along
Not today
It's everything that is connected and beautiful
And now i know just where i stand
Thank god you're heart is too close
This can be the bitter end
I know it wont
Well someone said i made a mistake
Kept looking forward on paths sideways
It's everything that is connected and beautiful
And now i know just where i stand
Seasons always shift too late
Spent too much time now on paths sideways
Everything that is connected and beautiful
And now i know just where i stand
Thank god it's over...
Thanks
The sonic brilliance of this is so good…. That solo..crunch!
"I know it won't..." *It won't.* 😆
Amazing band and what a wonderful song
Yup. Guitar Center, you've just proved that your channel is very much worth subscribing to.
Tnx for the upload!
Also I forgot to point out that Silversun Pickups are by far one the Best Bands around. Ive Loved this Band From the Get Go. Props to Guitar Center for picking a Great Band.
One of my favorites from them!
Best song from a great band, that mix tho! So good.
Still my favorite SSPU song. So good
Such a great band, live and otherwise.
These guys Rock! In a world of mumbling performers they bring clarity and reason.
They are such a great fucking live band. As a musician who traveled around in a van , I love seeing a really great live act, no tracks, no fakery just the goods. See you guys in St Petersburg FL
I'm pretty sure most of the views on this videos are from me
Omareko same 🤷🏻♀️
Quanto tempo eu perdi sem conhecer essa maravilha de banda ❤️ Brasil aquiiii 🇧🇷
Nunca é tarde para conhecer uma boa banda
Not only my favorite SSPU tune, but one of my overall favorites. The chorus makes me choke up: "And now I know where I stand - good god."
My favourite SSPU song!!
Me encanta esta banda 😍👌🏻
What a great song to hear live. Awesome 👍.
got some real Pixies vibes from this one with Nikki singing.
This is the shit ... fucking great.
I just discovered this band. They're FUCKING AWESOME. I also noticed the drummer seems to play like half left-handed or something, as he plays the cymbals with the left hand.. that's interesting too.
Amazing performance.....glad I dropped in!
This is amazing. I’m honestly surprised this isn’t more popular than Lazy Eye. If anyone is looking for something similar, check out Dilly Dally. Nirvana meets pixies.
Dilly Dally is almost as good as SSPU, both their albums are incredible.
Great look for modern rock cool girls. following in Nancy W's footsteps
This is a brilliant version.
This song is nothing but win, every time
Still jamming and love this band live so underrated like many amazing bands :(
my favorite band
Caught them at the ritz, were amazing!
gracias me gusto mucho suscribirme a guitarcenter todos sus vídeos son espectaculares todo lo relacionado con la música me encanta, es mi pasión sobre todo las guitarras le doi las gracias
I really love that song!!! ❤
Nice song. I can't wait for our group to do our first performance Live in front of a live audience! #musicmansladies
SSPU!!!!!! loved this episode :D
I reckon this is the best perfomance
A great sound spectrum.
Fuck yes. Pickups. 2004 reppin.
this is so good.
They’re so damn good
Brian is like Ludwig van Beethoven reborn. Brian certainly knows his music, & does a little bit of everybody. In this one, he does a Jimmy Hendrix type thing with his guitar that is fantastic, at other times Brian's guitar playing is reflective of Lindsey from Fleetwood Mac & Jimmy from Led Zep. Brian changes his voice instrument for some songs or parts of songs. Sometimes he sounds something like Liam from Oasis, in other songs something like Billy from Smashing Pumpkins, or Perry from Jane's Addiction.
Some people said they thought Brian sounded female in the studio version of "Nightlight." I disagree. Instead, it sounds more like the female back-up vocals were stronger in the studio version than other performances, & because the lyrics of the song include, "Putting more makeup on the masks that we wear," people tended to get it in their minds that it was a female singer. Brian definitely has a range, & his voice is fantastic. Listen to the 91X youtube video of "Nightlight" to hear how good Brian sounds screaming "Yeah" at the beginning of the song. ruclips.net/video/pqgMFHRx0eg/видео.html&lc=UgjBgBfTkqMZxHgCoAEC
Brian's vocals throughout that performance are absolutely perfect. He nails it all.
That's laughable.
Amazing!
almost the perfect song in my opinion
Stop the season stop the sting

Beautiful ❤️
That's a bass on the upper register
Nikki is an amazing technician
And connected❤
sonzeira de guitarra, vum
I wish they'd turn the bass up
Can anyone tell me what fuzz pedal he uses?
WTF. Guitar Center! This man asked this question over 4 fucking years ago and we still don't fucking know what fuzz pedal was being used in this jam? WTF is wrong with you people? Do you not sell this shit or what? FFS.
*FACEPALM*
@@CrustyWhiteBread its even funnier because I work for guitar center now. lol.
@@keaganweaver8723 "you won't tell me? I'll fucking find out."
Guitar Session's have made it a bit misleading. Are people expecting Dots & Dashes, Lazy Eye and Kissing Families to be on Better Nature this Friday? That's how I'd interpret the advertisment at the end if I hadn't heard them before.
Come here often?
How the singer could amp the guitar for two amps and make two different channels?? One clean and one with distortion? Noticeable at 0:54, please if someone know please answer :)
With an AB-Y box, google it
What is this song about???
SOMEONE SAID I MADE A MISTAKE ahhhh
I got to see these guys live in Portland Oregon and they sound pretty rough here... But nothing, and I mean nothing, beats SSPU
Tauseef Baggia I think it might be partially the mix's fault.
why do i hear two guitars?
that guy sitting off to the left isn't just there for his good looks. He's the magic man ;)
probably frowned upon, but here the best acoustic version I've ever found:

If Silversun Pickups had incorporated that AMAZING scream on their studio recordings, then they might be more relevant today
There is a scream in the studio version lmao
guitar model ?
Jonathan Salcedo Thats an Epiphone Sheraton red sunburst
Yay silversun pickups but booooo guitar center
im here for 3:18
First was Smashing Pumpkins. Then Wheatus. Then Silversun Pickups. Who is taking the 2020's?
Kundalini brought me here
Jeesh sounds like the other song
I don't know what the big deal is, Sounds like hipster, Avant Garde ear candy, with a heavy influence from 90's grunge and alternative music. No thanks, not for me.
Your opinion, m8
@@angeloviedo4604 I prefer Blues Rock, Joe Bonamasa Samantha Fish, , Greta Van Fleet, Eric Clapton, etc. if you like SSPU and this music makes you happy, good for you. I just like other bands.
