hi, i was just wondering if you could do a "Best match up for each character" and when can we expect the next tier list. Thanks for your content, it is great.
Thank you! Next tier list probably after the next big tournament so around september/October I would guess. Best matchup for each character in terms of which matchup they win the most, or which is the most even and fun?
Looks like a really cool set, great characters and art. just from the looks of it I'd say Doctor Strange seems like the most powerful, Spider-Man a mid range strength character and She Hulk strong but the most strait forward and potentially lopsided.
I really love these characters and I'm so glad they all live up to the hype but god damn... I was already having a tough time playing Angel with my friends, I think Spider-Man might keep him on the bench for a while...
@@zeroskatr12 Looking forward to watching all your new unmatched content, and good luck with school! I'm so happy there's so much for us Unmatchers to sink our teeth into. Summer of champions is gonna be so fun!
Hi zero, 2 questions 1. Zee Garcia of the Dice Tower brought this up. In a 2p game, can players select starting spaces 3 or 4 with the cards that care about moving to starting spaces, or just "active starting spaces" that were used? 2. With Strange's 7 suns, can he boost once, see what it is, then decide to boost again or stop? Why or why not? Thx
1. Yes you can utilize the 3 and 4 starting spaces in a 2 player game. "Starting space" is just any space on the board with a numbered diamond. 2. No, you have to choose up front whether to blind boost 1 or 2 cards. The reason is that it's all just one effect, so you must make your decision before resolving that effect.
Vorpal Board needs to get their deck effects/sounds asap. You’ll have no idea if your opponent is actually putting them in the bottom or now… I wouldn’t want to play as or against Dr. Strange on Vorpal. TTS all day.
I have a question So if I buy a Vorpal board subscription for a year can I invite friends to play online with me or do they also nees a sub for 60 bucks Really want to play the different chars but it takes ages for them to arrive in germany
The Hulk looks very strong, a lot of HP, there is both pure damage and damage from cards. Good defense, discard of enemy cards. Sm looks weak, good defense ability, and a controlled draw card, it may be worth playing through fatig. But as such there is no power, there is no way to clean up multi-sidekicks. There are no cancellations yet. And strange looks strong, but only practice will show how much.
Yeah it's really hard to say how good these are without having played them much. The She-Hulk deck is strong but she might be counterplayed very easily. Spider-Man deck looks weak but ability is very strong. Strange just seems crazy haha
@@zeroskatr12 At least 3 feints would have helped the spider, instead of those twos on draw cards. A very strange wording at the counterstrike: why not write defeat, deal 2 damage? If the opponent has 4 or higher, you are already losing, and there is no postscript to the printed value. And attacking 4 instead of jumping off, give a blow to everyone who is nearby. Then he would be very good. His abilka helps to ignore the respite and use 3 with a reduction in damage against some forms of the beast, but the oracle is not in high esteem anyway. So the abilka is strong, but without feints it is not so useful. He does not have the ability to discard cards, and many meta heroes have such an opportunity, as well as against multi sidekicks, he will burn out on the cards until he kills them. And it remains only at the expense of good protection and teleports to exhaust the enemy by fatigues
@@zeroskatr12 The Hulk has 24 hp, the t-rex has 27, and he does a lot of damage to himself at the same time. She has everything, pure damage to finish off the enemy, discard cards, draw, area attack, strong attack (if you're not bigfoot, then there won't be enough feints). The only thing is that she has weak feints in defense and, in principle, the defense is not very strong, such aggressors as jin / raptors / t-rex can devour her. But she is able to compensate for this with a discard and draw and a strong retaliatory attack
@@zeroskatr12 Although in any case, this addition is much more interesting and enjoyable than the previous one. Probably stuffy and to some extent broken ws and bp
I definitely think these are balanced. She-Hulk might actually be the worst in the set because of her issue being a slow-moving solo melee fighter. But time will tell.
Thanks! For Spiderman I would think Yennenga because most of her attacks are 3s so his ability isn't great and he is also solo melee against ranged with sidekicks. For She-Hulk I would think Sherlock since he can nullify her big attacks and has tons of passes and auto damage so he doesn't need to approach. For Strange I would think Bigfoot because I don't think he has enough good defense to stand up to the huge attacks and constant pressure, along with Jackalope horns auto damage.
If She-Hulk attack Spider-Man by "The Savage She-Hulk"(make the value 9 instead) and Spider-Man use "Counter-Attack" to defense. Does the Counter-Attack trigger the effect? Because the print value of "The Savage She-Hulk" is 3, but the actually attack value is 9.
I keep wondering but... so far I've had older figures keep up with the newer figures just fine. I think they got a real handle on balance and introducing something different without making it broken or busted.
@@austinlawless8999 did sherlock get knocked off while I was away? He was top 3 last I checked. (I know some who love J/H.) Buffy seemed to be only "early" set that really suffered but then it was apparently made early where they were still figuring things out. But then I've also noted that one thing I love about Unmatched is that the meta can shift based on the set up. Several 1v1 powerhouses become weak in a team game or 3+ FFA. While several weak fighters can become monsters when teamed up. What do you usually like to play?
@austinlawless8999 yeah C&F has both IM and Jekyll who are the ones who get left behind. But Sherlock is still a top character and Dracula is high tier as well. Things often seem overpowered at first, but then you play them more and it's just fine.
I wish that Unmatched would get Thanos. This won't be balanced, but it is more of an idea, plus I'm not going to talk about every card in the deck- the whole idea is that Thanos could end the match with 1 card. Thanos would start like Little Red with a special card (for Little Red it's her basket, Thanos would have Infinity Gauntlet). In the deck, there are 7 Scheme cards: 1x Space Stone- Put Thanos anywhere on the map and gain an action 1x Time Stone- Heal Thoanos for [insert an amount] health 1x Reality Stone- Draw [insert an amount] card(s) and gain an action. 1x Mind Stone- Look at the opponent's hand and discard [insert an amount] card(s) 1x Soul Stone- Choose an opposing fighter and move it up to his movement 1x Power Stone- Deal [insert an amount] damage to every opposing fighter in Thanos' zone 1x Snap- Deal damage to every opposing fighter on the map based on how many infinity stones are on the Infinity Gauntlet. If all 6 are on the gauntlet then you win the game. Every time Thanos either uses or discards one of the Stone Scheme cards it's viewed as placing one stone on the gauntlet (similar to Simbad's voyages). How can you say "If the printed value is 3 or a 4 then Spider-mans ability is mediocre". You know how hard the other players are trying to hit you with, this is OP in any situation. Add in the fact that if you know what cards are in any other hero's deck and this is absurdly powerful. Sure in casual when players don't know what cards are in other players' deck it might not be as powerful. Again, Spider-man's ability narrows down the card that was played very much. Plus (too lazy to check) I think anyone can look through any other discard pile where cards have numbers stating how many of them are in the deck. Overall Spidy is OP with his cards. High defense cards that either limit the dam or also deal dam. Overall too high numbers on purple cards as well, and you say it's sad that Spidy only has two 4 power purple cards. That is still 2 more than he should have. Dr. Strange's "The Mists of Munnopor" should be at least 3 valued not 2. Sure the ability discards the attack but half of the attacks in the game are 3 or higher so Strange is almost guaranteed to take dam. "Seven Suns of Cinnibus"- is the "you have to decide how many times you boost it before boosting it" in the rulebook or is this again something that the designer intended but the text isn't clear. Because as I read the card I can decide to boost it once and then decide whether to risk boosting it again or not. Overall Dr. Strange should have more Scheme cards than just 2 types and 4 total.
Your Thanos idea is very cool. As for Spiderman his ability is great but his deck doesn't quite match. I think there are generally just more 3 and 4 value options which means you're still guessing between a couple cards, which is why I said it's mediocre in that case. But overall he is sadly pretty weak. Doctor strange is already very strong on the other hand. So I'm glad Mists is a 2 because it makes him take a risk of big damage if he wants to use it. At a 3 value that risk is so much lower because many cards are 3 value and then he would take no damage.
Bit disappointed in spideys deck tbh - expected to see ability or scheme that pulls opponent towards him to be adjacent so he can attack them twice. Either an opponent in same zone or two spaces away. This would be more in keeping with Spider-Man’s theme being both melee and ranged and be a nice psychological twist when playing against him.
Yeah that would have been very nice to have! His deck is really basic probably because he's so popular they wanted it to be "new player friendly". I still think playing him is more fun than it seems though cuz his ability is great.
mechanics are great. Fortunately, it's the last Marvel set. If we had same quality of mechanics for non-Marvel characters, it would be great. Some of the Marvel characters are awesome though.
There's an old English phrase of "brains over brawn" (better to be smart, than strong). In this set, all 3 characters are known as being quite smart, and pretty strong. (she-hulk literally, dr strange magically)
@@austinlawless8999 I'd say that all the characters are actually canonically both strong and smart. She-Hulk is a powerhouse and a respected lawyer. Spidey is only "weak" in comparison to other superstrong characters. Otherwise, he's much stronger than any ordinary person. And he's a scientist. And Dr. Strange isn't physically powerful, but he is definitely one of the "stronger" superheroes in the Marvel Universe, and it's all due to his education and intelligence. So, really, they're all Brains AND Brawn characters.
Spiderman is such a great character for new players. I'm going to start suggesting him instead now to beginners.
