Small nitpick, I can't wrap my head around why the Sister's spells don't have names... it's gonna be kinda odd to reference them while playing, like when you activate "the bat+snake spell" or "the spell that lets me draw + heal". Other than this, wow, this set seems really fun, especially the Sisters and Titania's decks really are filled with their own theme 😍
Is it just me, or does each of Shakespeare's Horror represents the other characters in the box? Spider, snake, bats for wayward sisters (the cauldron ingredients), the bloody skull cup for hamlet, and the misty one for titania?
I love the fact that this set reminds me of BOL Vol 1, because there's a "sidekick" or each fighter, which I thought was a really cool idea to teach Ummatched players to value sidekicks when they begin.
You mentioned the map was nothing special, but I do see two zones that are comprised of one single space. I don't have Sun's Origin but im pretty sure that's new. I imagine those spaces will be a headache for some ranged fighters.
31:00 love you talking about how that defense is bad because nobody attacks with versatiles and proceed to show 2 versatiles and talk how they're great for attacking 😂
I don't know if Hamlet will be good but I am going to try my absolute hardest to make him good because wow he is so cool! Also just want to say Hamlet has the money at scheme passes in the game (other than technically DD and WS but those don't count) he has 26! And thats not including healing
My first impressions of the decks #1 Shakespeare, Looks the most interesting with each card having a possible bonus effect and having 14 cards with +4 value. #2 Wayward sisters, Getting up to a 10+ health life gap from the ability with the bat spells is kinda interesting but the goal of constantly trying to set up pings might get bland. #3 Hamlet, Am I missing something or does hamlet look kinda weak. For example, a 3 value attack with may boost is normal, having to pay 2 health to make a 4 value attack may boost seems bad and Hamlet's opponent probably will try their hardest to not let hamlet get double attack turns off. Sure he has a few cards to try and set up double attack turns but even most of the double attack turns don't seem that crazy for the health cost besides uncertain doom and the play's the thing if they hit. #4 Titania, I don't like the glamour gimmick a lot of the glamour effects are niche and Titanina's cards making her cycle them to get the most value makes them even more niche. 12 of Titania's cards have the discard a glamour for X effect and you can only use up to 1 every 2 turns since she only gets a glamour at the start of her turn.
Hamlet has a Sidekick to take damage for him when he chooses not to be. I think the game plan is drawing a ton in 1 turn and getting to double attacks the next turn.
Yea I haven't played with him but his turn 1 doesn't seem easy. A "to be" double maneuver turn would be a 9 card hand so discard two. Maybe a "to be" boosted maneuver into attack could be a common play since Hamlet will net 1 card in tempo while being aggro. But going in without swinging hard also seems meh.
i wonder if they are just going to give up on translating this box based on how much of a hustle it would be to make all the shakespeare cards match with the sillables in various languages
I translated all Shakespear's cards into French (with the correct amount of syllabes) while watching the video. It's not very poetic but it is possible, and easier than I tought.
Potential translation of Shakespeare's cards into French : Horror : Horreur My kingdom for a horse : Mon règne pour un cheval All are punished : Tous sont punis Places, places ! : Régions, régions ! The ides of March : Les ides de Mars Alas : Hélas Unce more unto the breach : Encore jusqu'à la brèche Deceive : Tromper Et tu, Brute ? (not translated because it's Latin) Revise : Revoir Again : Encore Such sweet sorrow : Un si doux mal
Just played yesterday. Hamlet vs Shakespeare. Hamlet played a card that immediately ended the turn after Shakespeare first attack! Shakespeare just completed a line that gave 2 more actions but since the turn ended he had to discard that line with nothing happening lol. Then I went “not to be” and smacked him hard twice. It was awesome. I have played all of them now and it’s a GREAT box with diverse powers that are fun mechanically. Each one is a unique puzzle. I did find Shakespeare vs Tatiana very difficult. She has some area attacks that can just wipe out all the actors quickly and it makes it very difficult for Shakespeare. But Shakespeare vs the witches is very unique. Also playing against Titania on the included map is super interesting with the spots she can’t get to.
This set looks fantastic. Shakespeare is a work of art. I think the Iambic Pentameter is possibly the most creative and versatile ability in the game, and I believe that Shakespeare will be a staple in the meta for a long time to come. Titania looks fun, and she takes the "cyclical ability" to another level, but in the end the fact that she only has 2 MC usable viable attacks will be her end. If Oberon is killed early game, all the opponent has to do is aggress her and Titania will not have enough attacks to finish the game, as she will be using all her versatile cards to block. Hamlet is a fantastic powerhouse, and his cards are well crafted. The Question makes it so that a skilled player might make him deadly, but a novice would just... lose. Immediately. As with Titania, high aggression (specifically Bruce Lee/Genie style aggression, not so much raptors) would make mincemeat of a character that needs to keep a high hand count in order to have confidence attacking. However, a character without said aggression would have a devilish time with a savvy Hamlet user. The Wayward sisters are the weakest link in the deck (as far as power, not creativity). Their deck design and ability design is fantastic, but (in my preliminary analysis) slightly underpowered. I think this set is great! I always appreciate the unboxing videos.
I think the ideal plan for hamlet is drawing a lot in one turn, disrupt the enemy on defense or set up woth a scheme, and then double attack with 5+ dmg attacks.
@CodeCoelhinho haha well yes but I just meant that they wouldn't keep it as regroup because revise has extra text and they want to differentiate the two.
I hate to ask such an off topic question to this video, but can you or suggest someone who did, make a video showing how, where, assets, importing, the whole shebang, how to play this digitally on vorpal board or TTS I think it is called? I'd like to play more often, but tracking down info is not easy.
I would recommend joining the UMLeague discord server as people could definitely help you out with that stuff on there. I have a link in the video description. You could also check out this video that talks about playing in TTS: ruclips.net/video/P5lrtsuTXD0/видео.htmlsi=hXTSjsCTVVEvAd3Q Hope that helps!
question just pop up, for instant the defend player after combat is to move 2 space, then the attacker says deal 1 damage adjacent to the opposing fighter, would it still be dealt to the defender, Curious..
Wait, does Pricking of my Thumbs actually work the way you described it at 15:40? If a 2hp sister is hit with a 6 attack the opponent still takes 4? I know you are a total rules pro, but in what set was that clarified? I was under the impression that they would only take 2 because only 2 damage could be done to the sister
Yeah damage dealt can be greater than a fighter's remaining health. It was clarified by RG on their official discord (would send a link to it but youtube doesnt like peeps putting links in comments)
28:30 Maddening insight - That defense cant be 7 becouse, if you had 7 cards in hand before attack, this one is played and you now have 6. So maximum possible defense of that card is 6 ;)
You are right! Did I really say 7 in the video? I should know better haha. Unless of course you defended Beowulf's first attack Fatal Struggle and won, then you would have 8 cards in hand and defending his second attack with a 7 value Maddening Insight ;)
So, basically Hamlet just has +2 to all attacks for whole game with minor condition of damaging sideckick that does nothing. Because choosing second ability to get double draw without any possibility to change it later in the game ...I dont see any case for someone to do it, except you are extremly afraid that Genie or Lee wil spam you to death with non-stop attacks- but even in that case for me it is more useful to smack them hard and kill in couple of turns than to survive and spam in return. All other fightres seem extremly interesting and unique, thought probably not of the strongest tier, though only practice will show.
I think, The form choice is mandatory every turn so Hamlet's sidekick will die by turn 3 if you choose not to be each time and then Hamlet will have to tank it,
I think you didn't totally understand the ability. Hamlet must choose at each turn. That means, anytime you want to use "Not to be", you must take 2 damages, no matter if you had already "Not to be" in your previous turn. So, it is a big counterpoint...
@@beatlejuicefunk Almost all of the cards are quotes from Shakespeare's works, which are already translated in most languages, maintaining the metric. So the translators will just need to do a bit of research.
Hamlet looks weak 15 health, its so bad, if you wanna win you need pick "not to be" at least 3-5 times (6 - 10 damage took by hamlet or sidekick), i thought restoration know what mean balance after many years 😢😢
He can also damage the sidekick though and some cards, ignore the value of the enemys card meaningg free damage to the enemy. I think we will have to see it more in practice how good he is
Cool mechanics... And that's it. Weak art styles and therefore weak atmosphere because of it. It's not a fighting anymore. Just look at Little red riding hood or Alice for example... Peaceful girls at the first glance. BUT they gave them WEAPONS and their cards display the use of their weapons and abilities. You can feel the battle. And what do we have here? Shakespeare with his actors... And what is his weapon? Even his mini doesn't have it. Or Titania card with 5 attack - picture of dancing under the moon... Really? 5 damage because of what? This dance? Only sisters cards match Unmatched style and vibe. Waiting for The Witcher boxes.
Hamlet art style is great and so is Shakespeares. I think for the most people, based on feedback i saw, the art styles made such weaklings as a noble man, author or a fairy queen to matching characters for the game. The vibe u described is exactly there, the dark bloody style comes with Hamlet. Titania seems treacherous and mysterious and i was a bit concerned at first but shakespeare is great as well. Great lines great artworks. The Horror cards ressemble the other characters of the box, a small fine cherry on top in design for me. So your comment is just salty cause u dont like the shown Heroes or whatever. The Witcher Sets and Battle of Legends 3 will come so be patient
All the other characters are fictional (including exaggerated fictional versions of real characters like Tesla and Houdini). Shakespeare is hitting them by rewriting their reality. Titania is using fairy magic. What weapon do Dr. Strange or Merlin wield? Since when do magical attacks need weapons?
Small nitpick, I can't wrap my head around why the Sister's spells don't have names... it's gonna be kinda odd to reference them while playing, like when you activate "the bat+snake spell" or "the spell that lets me draw + heal".

I love the fact that this set reminds me of BOL Vol 1, because there's a "sidekick" or each fighter, which I thought was a really cool idea to teach Ummatched players to value sidekicks when they begin.
Ideal teach to value sidekicks is play without them-your hero feel full pain without body block and durability to attack save
@user-bh9fb2kf5m by that logic if you want to value move 3, range, a sidekick and a fighter ability that's not net negative... play Jekyll l.

@@Enfant_Feu a pass is a scheme that does not draw cards or gain actions. It prolongs your deck from exhaustion.
Wow! The wayward sisters sure look awesome. I can’t believe how cool their spells are. Also some great schemes.
Brute must be broo-tay, otherwise it wouldn't be 4 syllables! :)
I know it’s a dumb thing to say because it’s always true with unmatched….but damn the art in this set is good
Hamlet reads like Restoration saying "Sorry for making King Arthur".
Sorry for making Angel!
Exactly my thinking, maybe it's just red and crowns in the artwork but my first thought was "Oh wow, he's everything Arthur should have been"
