We have just returned from our first visit to France and we loved it. We are already planning our next trip. We also took Air France and it was great- we sat in economy but the food and service was top notch( I was a flight attendant for 34 years so I know what I am talking about). The French people were so welcoming to us and almost everyone spoke a little English. One of the highlights of our trip was spending time in Rouen and having a meal to remember for many years at La Couronne. Another favorite was Monet's Gardens at Giverny. We also did Normandy and the country side was so beautiful. Of course we did Paris and one place that we enjoyed that you did not mention is The Sainte-Chapelle- the stained glass is probably the best I have ever seen in a cathedral. What a gem. I know it is a touristy thing to do but the evening boat ride down the Seine was well worth it because of the great view of all of the bridges. What a wonderful country that I hope to visit many more times. I will be eagerly awaiting your blogs.

Wow, you have really been put thru the ringer Sophia. Pace yourself so you don't relapse. I am so looking to my "our" trip to France. When I was a Stewardess (we were not called Flight attendants back then) I did fly to France but just to Paris. To see it with a 'FRIEND' IS ICING ON THE CAKE! Thank you for taking us along.
So glad to see you back. I missed you!!!! Whew....I can sympathize with the kidney stones. I had them when I was pregnant with my first child when I was about 7 months pregnant. I thought it was Braxton hicks contractions (my first pregnancy--what did I know..lol) and I didn't want to complain to my doctor. After three days of excruciating pain, I finally went to see him and they did an ultrasound of my kidneys. The doctor took one look at the results and said, "honey, if you can handle the pain from this, labor is going to be a piece of cake for you." LOL Can't wait to see your videos/vlogs from France. I have always wanted to go, especially with someone who knows the area. I am so excited to see everything, especially with your commentary of the history and so on. Glad you are feeling better!
Air France is also our airline of choice. It is a loooong trip from California to Paris, but so worth it. I also geek out at Neopleon's tomb. It's hard to explain why, but once you experience being in that beautiful building and standing by his casket (the biggest casket ever!) it just stays with you. We usually stay at the Hotel Montparnasse Daguerre. You sound so excited and I am happy for you! Jane
Sophia, thank you for your decluttering you tube videos. It was so helpful. Having to empty out my mother's home is a lot of work. Watching you inspired me to get the job down. Please keep doing what your doing. It's not in vain. Like some else feels like I feel and I'M not alone. take care. Mona
Poor Sophia!!! I want to tell you that I take Tramadol daily for my arthritis pain and it helps that. I think the lesson is not to ever deal with expedia.com....... I don't trust any of those types of sites. I like to deal with the company/business directly. It may cost more, but it seems easier. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE FRANCE!!!! especially your home and your Mom and Sister. It will be truly amazing. Thank you so much for planning to share it all with us. And yes we did miss you and glad to hear that you are on the mend. Take care............
I have had some problems with expedia also (my son was in Hong Kong and they cancelled his return flight and were a nightmare to get a new flight). Since that lesson, I use those type of websites to find the flights I want and then go to the airline's site and order the tickets there. I'm looking forward to traveling vicariously with Sophia because I have never been to France and am not able to travel this year!

I am SO excited. I have family in France, but I have NEVER travelled outside of the US before. It terrifies me, the thought of being somewhere I don't know, getting lost, etc. But I can not wait!!

I am so excited to go to France with you! I love Paris and have been there 6 times but it be be so much fun to go with you! Yeah. Love Normandy too. My dad was a d-day veteran ( Omaha ) and we took him for the 60th anniversary when he was 80. He was treated better than a rock star by the people of Normandy. Glad you are better, I missed you !
Take care of yourself Sophia, that's all the more reason to declutter and get your home in order, you don't need the extra added stress, you did it right on time! Life is too short! Have fun on your trip! 👍🏾

OMG! When you started talking about your kidneys I started wondering. I was having similar problems and went to my doctor and told her I thought I had a bladder infection or UTI. The next day off to the Emergency room and guess what? Kidney stones!!!! And yes they are very, very painful! I never realized how bad the pain could be. I was on Percocet and an antibiotic and anti anflammatory....GOOD TIMES! Glad you're on the mend and great to have you back.😊💕
You were definitely missed, and I'm so glad that you are on the mend. I'm almost as excited as you are about your upcoming trip to France! My favorite saint was from Normandy--St. Therese de Lisieux. I can't wait to view all of your videos, and I will definitely be reading your blog. So sorry about all the financial mix-ups! That can be very frustrating. You still have your wonderful smile and sense of humor in spite of all your trials--that's great to see!

2 of the mysteries of life, when we work like dogs we get sick... and banks can take out money faster than a New York minute, but takes forever for funds to go in...glad you are feeling better
I just found out my grandfather was from Lyons France I hope to take a vacation in the near future.I am excited to see france.
Nothing like a trip home to brighten your outlook! I felt the same when we lived in the UK for many years and we would plan a trip home. Take care of yourself and don't overdo it. Xx

Never had kidney stones but I did have renal colic. Way worse than labour. You have my total sympathy and my good wishes that you will be completely recovered and that it doesn't happen again.
My cousin is on a cruise as we speak on the Seine and is texting me all the beautiful places you are talking about. :) I am looking forward to your videos. Just love your channel so much! Whoa! Glad you are feeling so much better! Yep. Only one kidney stone but UTI's my whole life plus getting sepsis twice from kidney infections. Talk about deathly sick. UGH! We won't mention the pain from the kidney stone. nope - nope - nope. ;)I absolutely can not wait for the trip vlogs! I pray you stay healthy and have a wonderful trip to share when you get back.

Sophia, I just had surgery to get rid of a kidney stone and yes they are very painful. I would not wish those on my worst enemy!! Glad you are feeling better and I cannot wait to see parts of France. I am so glad you are feeling better and hope you are well soon.

So sorry you've been sick....especially the kidney stones! I've passed several kidney stones and had to have surgery once because the stone was too big to pass. They are so painful....I think worse than childbirth. Take care! Looking forward to the videos about your trip to France.
