My step grandson son is having a 5:00 formal wedding in October. The grandparent have been asked to wear black and gold. Black should look good on everyone and slimming LOL. I too have been looking on Amazon and found several beautiful Palazzo pants suit, ( I haven't worn a dress in 30 years). I thought I was going to lose weight and have barely made a dent in it, however I have to accept it and try to find something as flattering as I can. Thank goodness I only need something for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. You look lovely in al the outfits you have chosen, your son will be very proud of you. Blessings to you from Texas.
Oh this was wonderful to read! I think some folks don't quite understand that it's not that we are " all about us" but just the opposite. We want to look our very best because this is somebody's big day and we do not want to distract. We want to show love and respect so we do the best we can. And if it's a fail, our family and friends will love us anyway.I can't show my family in my videos because of the tender age of my grandchildren, so I have to approach my videos from my personal point of view. You could use them or I would take to small claims court . I bet they would return your money then. Because you gave them the measurements you wanted and they didn't give you that in return. They broke the contract.
You will look Beautiful in all tge dresses you chose for the events. Your will love you no matter what. I definitely would go after the dress company, report to the BBB. Call your credit card company and start a dispute. Have an attorney write them a letter, you will get your money back after of course you return the dresses. If you used a credit card, call the card company and tell them you dispute the charges.....you'll explain what happened...that you couldn't talk to anyone at company.....most likely they will refund your money and investigate company as a fraud.....you were ripped off !!!!!!
But their measurements seem incorrect in the final products so its on them, not fair, but unfortunately the company seems fishy because of how they displayed the reviews and disabled contacting them, red flags...

They didn’t make it to the measurements She sent in a 38 bust, they made a 36, she sent in a 33 waist, they made it 38. How was that custom?
All of the dresses are lovely. I'm thinking about my grandmother at my wedding 45 years ago. We had a simple wedding in a country church. My very frugal, plain grandmother surprised me by wearing a long green gown! She even splurged and had her hair done! She was 79, and I never saw her more beautiful, or happier.

In all honesty you look beautiful every time you dress to go out. Your hair is lovely, your makeup is truly flawless, you always wear complimentary jewelry , and your taste in clothing is spot on. And ! You know how to present yourself with a flair that is uniquely yours. I am so upset for you that those dresses were a disaster. ❤dearest Susan, Ive also lost weight to feel more comfterble with my body to my first gransons christning, and to fit a dress Ive in my dresser.. but what did you know.. it fit perfeckt, but there was that feeling about it was not the dress that I looked best in, because of my skincolor, Ive thought Ive had a better Tan during the summer, but Because of the weather I was a bit too light, so I looked very pale in the color of the dress. So last minute I found a beautieful 2 pice dress, in my favorit color light pink, with small flowers, so I took a chance and ordered it online, and I was so happy I did.. it looked GREAT on my body and the color looked perfect on me. I was so happy and I felt like a real feminine woman, like I havent in years. And that inside feeling did, that I was shining and it just felt so so good. It was such a great day and My daugther said, that I looked so good and that the dress complimentet who I am as a person. What more could Ive asked for... So remember its not all about the dress, its about the feeling inside, that it gives you so you shine, nomater what color or type of clothes you wear. If you feel good people feel that energy and how kind you are. I was Mother of the Bride for my one lovely daughter. I couldn’t lose weight. I was struggling finding money to pay for everything and charges just kept mounting. Suddenly, one week before the wedding, I found the most beautiful, perfect champagne colored formal dress with lace jacket. On SALE!! A seamstress hemmed it in one day. It all worked out. It ALWAYS works out. Don’t worry and lots of love❤
A little suggestion: do NOT wear a white dress unless there's a dressing code or that the bride to be is 100% okay with it. The spotlight will be on HER. It's her day, their day, their moment. It has long been a respectful and customary etiquette!!
April of this year was my 25 year old grandson’s wedding. I hadn’t worn a dress in years so I ordered 3 dresses online. The dress I thought would be the perfect dress wasn’t anything like the picture but the $40 dress I chose two weeks before the wedding was perfect but the pockets made me look 20 pounds heavier. I remembered a seamstress shop so I took the dress, the shoes I would wear and myself to the shop. When I arrived her shop was full of prom dresses. She said I could have the alterations in a week, but the wedding was in 3 days. As I was walking out of the shop she said put the shoes n dress on and we’ll see what we can do. I picked up the dress that Saturday morning of the wedding. The dress and the wedding were beautiful! The $40 dress and the $60 alterations were worth every penny! Enjoy your son’s wedding. ❤
Susan, I attended my first grandchild’s wedding last November. It was a huge wedding and I probably didn’t know half the guests. Without going into details it was very important that I look okay. I already knew the wedding wasn’t about me without someone telling me. That was exactly what I told my friends when I asked their opinion about what type of outfit I should wear. I hadn’t been to a wedding for a very long time. Their response was, I am her grandma and no one else can take my place so wear something nice. I had trouble finding something I liked and could afford. I ordered mine off the internet for $45. Sounds crazy but it was perfect. I received many more compliments than I expected especially since I’m 72 but it was nice to receive them anyway. Susan, for me, and maybe for you too or any one of the ladies who are single and over 65, it’s not always that easy to enter a room alone….if you know what I mean. It’s not for me anyway and I’ve had years of practice. Oh sure, I put on my brave face and smile, but that’s not how I’m always feeling inside so for some to say to you, this day isn’t about you, well of course it’s not, you know that. But, you are his mother and you are definitely entitled and worthy of choosing a dress or outfit that demonstrates how happy and proud you are of him on his wedding day! As I mentioned in regards to styling and color of hair a few weeks ago. We all have an idea of what color or style we know looks best for our total look. It’s just that we don’t have these huge department stores anymore that have a whole floor full of event gowns or wedding gowns, so it makes it so difficult to find something when we can only see it online. I can’t wait to see the one you chose. The color sounds simply romantic and enchanting so I know it will do well with your overall look. Susan, You take whatever time you want to help you feel beautiful and confident which is exactly what your son would tell you.
Susan. I kept watching week after week and biting my tongue. Even though I feel so sorry for the issue that you had with your dresses, I am going to speak out now. You are putting so much stress on yourself for your sons wedding. The weight loss, the dress, the makeup. Be yourself because you are awesome the way you are. It seems that you are trying to please everyone else on how you look. I know that you want to look your best but you are worrying too much. This should be a wonderful experience and a fun time. As soon as I looked up JJ House and saw that there was no phone number and their locations, it put up a very big RED flag for me. When my daughter go married I went to a bridal shop and they were very helpful and I came out with a beautiful dress. It was a one stop for me. I am 69 and my only child, a son, got married in March of this year. He is 30. I bought a dress from JJ's and then I got sick and lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks. The dress was about 2 sizes too large. I did not get it altered until two weeks before the wedding. I was a bit anxious being so close to the wedding. But what you said about not stressing out was so true. As I look back, my dress was perfect and I so enjoyed the wedding. The love between my son and his bride was awesome. Just enjoy every moment. I look forward to seeing you and Dessie every week.
I’d stay away from wearing anything white, especially the all white dress. Brides typically wear white to their wedding events. She may not appreciate wearing white along with her future mother-in-law. Or at least ask her if she’d mind. This is her time to be a princess.
Lady naturally , I AGREE WITH YOU “💯%” about Susan staying away from anything “WHITE”! It’s common knowledge that is the BRIDES COLOR to wear on her day, I wouldn’t even mention it to my future Daughter - in - Law ! No matter how sweet she may be, that may not have a good start to their relationship. There is little time to rethink this .
Think twice about the white! In my recent experience the bride is wearing white at the wedding but also at ALL the other related events…shower, rehearsal dinner, etc.

Please keep in mind that at most weddings, the only dress that is the center of curiosity and attention is the bride’s. Of all the weddings I have attended, I can’t even recall what any guest wore, but I do recall every wedding dress. Before my own wedding, my MIL made such a to do about her dress that I resented it, made me feel she thought this was about her. Just a bit of insight. You will look elegant and beautiful no matter what.

Your comment reminded me how my late husband's mother primped and fluffed herself at our wedding! Coz she was the centre of attention in her boys lives (tho my husband had left home at 18 to join the airforce and was his own man by the time we were getting married!) - I didn't even get a comment about my dress or how I looked! She actually had a fascinator made with tulle to reflect the headpieces my bridesmaids were wearing!

I mean, there's nothing wrong with the white dress even if it's at a wedding related event but I just don't think it's the best choice for a family dinner. It's a flirty dress and it is something you'd wear for funat a jazz concert or something like that. Maybe for a date with someone you meet later at the wedding event. But each to his or her own😊

My girlfriend and I had the same kind of problems with J and J house and ours were not custom. We were stand ups for our dear friend's wedding and told to find a dress we liked in taffeta cocktail style in deep jewel tone. By the time they came from China there was no time to start over, they took about three months to get. So I torn the entire dress apart and found the outer fabric was taffeta as expected, there were two inner linings. One of heavy flannel and the other was a shower curtain and then the lining. The bust was totally flat, no ease, no darts, no curve. I was a 38 DDD and size 10, 5'6" tall. The dress was so short, it was mid thigh and the cap sleeves were so tiny I couldn't move my arms. I worked for days trying to salvage the fabric to remake. Girlfriend went to the local David's Bridal and bought off the rack and her ordered dress went to a thrift store. WORD OF WARNING TO ALL OTHERS, DON'T EVER BUY FROM THEM. I'm so sorry you had this happen.

I can so relate to the stress you felt Susan. Being the grooms Mom means that you are an important part of the wedding, will be noticed and you will be on many of the main pics. We want our children to be proud of us and not cause any embarrassment. It’s our love for them and wanting all to go perfectly on their special day

Began watching this on tv. #1 rule..mNever where white to a wedding...esp if you are closely related. The green was perfect! Hope you are doing well, you were depresses for so long. I have had rough health issues for 13 months. Now, I'll need cataract surgery so that I can renew my driver's license. Makes life a little frustrating, but I'm doing pretty well...just have to keep this heart pumping...2 h failures during this tome and mini strokes. 77 but older than my parents when they passed. My daughter got married today. I struggled with a dress. Picture South Carolina, July lol the humidity, heat God was with us. I ended up with a dress from Ross that cost me $15.00 the amount of compliments! I stepped back and got simple.

I would suggest filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. That is way too much money not to have some type of customer service to contact or some satisfaction for two garments that do not fit. That sounds like crooked business to me. I remember how you said that you said you liked the dress because it reminded you of what your husband said to you about you look like Marilyn Monroe. Anyway, from all the comments, just let me say that in my opinion, traditions have changed so much over the years. When a female went to church, back in the day, she had to wear a dress. Now we can wear whatever we want; even jeans. I know we don't want to outshine the bride. But you were not going to wear the white dress to the wedding. 🎉Wear a smile, it's always in style!😅 I found a GOWN 10 years ago I JUST LOVED, SO I bought it. Accessories and all. Now it's time to wear it for the wedding, and I am 15 lb heavier, and gained another 5 due to the meds I have been taking for Lyme Disease. So I had seen another dress I really liked, but it was discontinued. Then I found it on Ebay...bought it and It fit. Thinking I was done, I hung it on my closet door with the wrap I my departed sister had bought me. THEN ONE DAY...I SAW THIS OUTFIT THAT MADE MY HEART SING!!! AND IT WAS A BIT MORE CASUAL , BUT It made me so happy. My daughter the bride LOVES IT TOO!! Last week she mentioned to me that her soon to be mother in law was thrilled with my latest choice, as she was not finding anything she truly liked . Now are going to the tasting for the dinner on Tuesday. I am wearing an adorable black dress I got on Susan's recommendation a couple years ago. Be you, Do You and do everything with love!❤❤❤😊

I think you need to put less emphasis on the dress. The months of stressing about it is just not worth it! People at weddings have relaxed so much in wedding attire. Let the bride get the perfect dress. You will look great in anything! I would thrift a mother of the bride dress bcuz it goes back of the closet after the wedding.

I disagree with your comment. She was excited to find something that she would feel pretty in and be proud to wear and those pictures taken will show that. Yes people don't dress up for events anymore and it's terrible. If anyone can find the perfect beautiful mother of the groom gown thrifted by all means but if you are just throwing on something because you are throwing it in your closet after it will show you really didn't care what you looked like.
My son's wedding is soon too. The bride is so laid back, she doesn't care the color or length the Mom's get. But, Most of the dresses I look at could be shortened and worn again if their gown length. Personally I prefer "tea length", a couple inches above the ankle.

Girl, you look absolutely gorgeous in everyone of these. I love the white dress too! You look so self confident in all of them too and that is very important. When my son got married it was at Christmas time. So, I was supposed to wear a silver dress, and her Mom was wearing gold. I was thankful that they told me the silver because I look much better in that color. I had tried on dresses from every where..My friend worked in a consignment shop, she called me and said I have a beautiful silver suit that would look so pretty on you, but you will have to have it altered. So, I went and sure enough it was perfect. I did leave there and go straight to the alterations lady I knew from my church. She did an excellent job, practically had to remake the skirt. I got so many compliments on it. I found the perfect silver shoes, that I could walk in. I mean in a matter of 2 wks I had every thing I needed to pull that night off. Of course, it ended in divorce. I was so mad, I took everything to the Goodwill store. I never wanted to see any of it again. I have regretted that since it has been several years now. He is happily married now, and gave me my wonderful grandson who does no wrong!! LOL I apologize for making this so long but I just had to share this. Love you and Desi very much. I am so looking forward to all the pics.

My step grandson son is having a 5:00 formal wedding in October. The grandparent have been asked to wear black and gold. Black should look good on everyone and slimming LOL. I too have been looking on Amazon and found several beautiful Palazzo pants suit, ( I haven't worn a dress in 30 years). I thought I was going to lose weight and have barely made a dent in it, however I have to accept it and try to find something as flattering as I can. Thank goodness I only need something for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. You look lovely in al the outfits you have chosen, your son will be very proud of you. Blessings to you from Texas.
Oh this was wonderful to read! I think some folks don't quite understand that it's not that we are " all about us" but just the opposite. We want to look our very best because this is somebody's big day and we do not want to distract. We want to show love and respect so we do the best we can. And if it's a fail, our family and friends will love us anyway.I can't show my family in my videos because of the tender age of my grandchildren, so I have to approach my videos from my personal point of view. You could use them or I would take to small claims court . I bet they would return your money then. Because you gave them the measurements you wanted and they didn't give you that in return. They broke the contract.

If you used a credit card, call the card company and tell them you dispute the charges.....you'll explain what happened...that you couldn't talk to anyone at company.....most likely they will refund your money and investigate company as a fraud.....you were ripped off !!!!!!

All of the dresses are lovely. I'm thinking about my grandmother at my wedding 45 years ago. We had a simple wedding in a country church. My very frugal, plain grandmother surprised me by wearing a long green gown! She even splurged and had her hair done! She was 79, and I never saw her more beautiful, or happier.

Ive also lost weight to feel more comfterble with my body to my first gransons christning, and to fit a dress Ive in my dresser..
but what did you know.. it fit perfeckt, but there was that feeling about it was not the dress that I looked best in, because of my skincolor, Ive thought Ive had a better Tan during the summer, but Because of the weather I was a bit too light, so I looked very pale in the color of the dress.
So last minute I found a beautieful 2 pice dress, in my favorit color light pink, with small flowers, so I took a chance and ordered it online, and I was so happy I did.. it looked GREAT on my body and the color looked perfect on me. I was so happy and I felt like a real feminine woman, like I havent in years.
And that inside feeling did, that I was shining and it just felt so so good. It was such a great day and My daugther said, that I looked so good and that the dress complimentet who I am as a person. What more could Ive asked for...
So remember its not all about the dress, its about the feeling inside, that it gives you so you shine, nomater what color or type of clothes you wear. If you feel good people feel that energy and how kind you are.
Even my daugthers boyfriends little sister, that are 12 or 13 years old, said after the christning and days that came after, to my daugthers mother inlaw: ohh mum M (my daugther) have such a sweet mum. It realy warms my heart.

I was Mother of the Bride for my one lovely daughter. I couldn’t lose weight. I was struggling finding money to pay for everything and charges just kept mounting. Suddenly, one week before the wedding, I found the most beautiful, perfect champagne colored formal dress with lace jacket. On SALE!! A seamstress hemmed it in one day. It all worked out. It ALWAYS works out. Don’t worry and lots of love❤
A little suggestion: do NOT wear a white dress unless there's a dressing code or that the bride to be is 100% okay with it. The spotlight will be on HER. It's her day, their day, their moment. It has long been a respectful and customary etiquette!!

April of this year was my 25 year old grandson’s wedding. I hadn’t worn a dress in years so I ordered 3 dresses online. The dress I thought would be the perfect dress wasn’t anything like the picture but the $40 dress I chose two weeks before the wedding was perfect but the pockets made me look 20 pounds heavier. I remembered a seamstress shop so I took the dress, the shoes I would wear and myself to the shop. When I arrived her shop was full of prom dresses. She said I could have the alterations in a week, but the wedding was in 3 days. As I was walking out of the shop she said put the shoes n dress on and we’ll see what we can do. I picked up the dress that Saturday morning of the wedding. The dress and the wedding were beautiful! The $40 dress and the $60 alterations were worth every penny! Enjoy your son’s wedding. ❤

Susan, I attended my first grandchild’s wedding last November. It was a huge wedding and I probably didn’t know half the guests. Without going into details it was very important that I look okay. I already knew the wedding wasn’t about me without someone telling me. That was exactly what I told my friends when I asked their opinion about what type of outfit I should wear. I hadn’t been to a wedding for a very long time. Their response was, I am her grandma and no one else can take my place so wear something nice. I had trouble finding something I liked and could afford. I ordered mine off the internet for $45. Sounds crazy but it was perfect. I received many more compliments than I expected especially since I’m 72 but it was nice to receive them anyway.
Susan, for me, and maybe for you too or any one of the ladies who are single and over 65, it’s not always that easy to enter a room alone….if you know what I mean. It’s not for me anyway and I’ve had years of practice. Oh sure, I put on my brave face and smile, but that’s not how I’m always feeling inside so for some to say to you, this day isn’t about you, well of course it’s not, you know that. But, you are his mother and you are definitely entitled and worthy of choosing a dress or outfit that demonstrates how happy and proud you are of him on his wedding day!
As I mentioned in regards to styling and color of hair a few weeks ago. We all have an idea of what color or style we know looks best for our total look. It’s just that we don’t have these huge department stores anymore that have a whole floor full of event gowns or wedding gowns, so it makes it so difficult to find something when we can only see it online. I can’t wait to see the one you chose. The color sounds simply romantic and enchanting so I know it will do well with your overall look.

Susan. I kept watching week after week and biting my tongue. Even though I feel so sorry for the issue that you had with your dresses, I am going to speak out now. You are putting so much stress on yourself for your sons wedding. The weight loss, the dress, the makeup. Be yourself because you are awesome the way you are. It seems that you are trying to please everyone else on how you look. I know that you want to look your best but you are worrying too much. This should be a wonderful experience and a fun time. As soon as I looked up JJ House and saw that there was no phone number and their locations, it put up a very big RED flag for me. When my daughter go married I went to a bridal shop and they were very helpful and I came out with a beautiful dress. It was a one stop for me. I am 69 and my only child, a son, got married in March of this year. He is 30. I bought a dress from JJ's and then I got sick and lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks. The dress was about 2 sizes too large. I did not get it altered until two weeks before the wedding. I was a bit anxious being so close to the wedding. But what you said about not stressing out was so true. As I look back, my dress was perfect and I so enjoyed the wedding. The love between my son and his bride was awesome. Just enjoy every moment. I look forward to seeing you and Dessie every week.

I’d stay away from wearing anything white, especially the all white dress. Brides typically wear white to their wedding events. She may not appreciate wearing white along with her future mother-in-law. Or at least ask her if she’d mind. This is her time to be a princess.
Lady naturally , I AGREE WITH YOU “💯%” about Susan staying away from anything “WHITE”! It’s common knowledge that is the BRIDES COLOR to wear on her day, I wouldn’t even mention it to my future Daughter - in - Law ! No matter how sweet she may be, that may not have a good start to their relationship. There is little time to rethink this .

Please keep in mind that at most weddings, the only dress that is the center of curiosity and attention is the bride’s. Of all the weddings I have attended, I can’t even recall what any guest wore, but I do recall every wedding dress. Before my own wedding, my MIL made such a to do about her dress that I resented it, made me feel she thought this was about her. Just a bit of insight. You will look elegant and beautiful no matter what.

Your comment reminded me how my late husband's mother primped and fluffed herself at our wedding! Coz she was the centre of attention in her boys lives (tho my husband had left home at 18 to join the airforce and was his own man by the time we were getting married!) - I didn't even get a comment about my dress or how I looked! My girlfriend and I had the same kind of problems with J and J house and ours were not custom. We were stand ups for our dear friend's wedding and told to find a dress we liked in taffeta cocktail style in deep jewel tone. By the time they came from China there was no time to start over, they took about three months to get. So I torn the entire dress apart and found the outer fabric was taffeta as expected, there were two inner linings. One of heavy flannel and the other was a shower curtain and then the lining. The bust was totally flat, no ease, no darts, no curve. I was a 38 DDD and size 10, 5'6" tall. The dress was so short, it was mid thigh and the cap sleeves were so tiny I couldn't move my arms. I worked for days trying to salvage the fabric to remake. Girlfriend went to the local David's Bridal and bought off the rack and her ordered dress went to a thrift store. WORD OF WARNING TO ALL OTHERS, DON'T EVER BUY FROM THEM.

It's probably because it was a custom made dress. Most places won't take back custom orders.
I mean what was she thinking. A general rule is usually for custom made items they are a final sale. And people were warning her.

Began watching this on tv. #1 rule..mNever where white to a wedding...esp if you are closely related. The green was perfect! Hope you are doing well, you were depresses for so long. I have had rough health issues for 13 months. Now, I'll need cataract surgery so that I can renew my driver's license. Makes life a little frustrating, but I'm doing pretty well...just have to keep this heart pumping...2 h failures during this tome and mini strokes. 77 but older than my parents when they passed. My daughter got married today. I struggled with a dress. Picture South Carolina, July lol the humidity, heat God was with us. I ended up with a dress from Ross that cost me $15.00 the amount of compliments! I stepped back and got simple.
My friend got a $40 dress at Ross and she looked like a million dollars for a fancy event where she received an award. Never sell Ross short...

None of the dresses she liked looks like a wedding gown so I thin the bride is safe?I can't imagine telling someone it doesn't matter what you look like at your only son's wedding. It's a very special occasion for both of them. It's a rite of passage. A major life event. He's proud of her, as she is of him. And as it should be.

I love all the outfit, my favorite is the black jumpsuit and black jacket, always so classy.
I would suggest filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. That is way too much money not to have some type of customer service to contact or some satisfaction for two garments that do not fit. That sounds like crooked business to me. Otherwise, all of the outfits you showed are fabulous! Y'all are going to have so much fun! Eat, drink, and be merry!
I don't know why watching you try on all of these lovely clothes made me cry. Maybe it's because you look so beautiful, and so happy, and I know how far you have come on your journey. And that you show us how much happiness we can still grab and hold onto as we get older.

You see it exactly as I do, she so loves her family and she just beams at the thought of them and nothing else matters. Susan's love will carry her through this. I remember how you said that you said you liked the dress because it reminded you of what your husband said to you about you look like Marilyn Monroe. Anyway, from all the comments, just let me say that in my opinion, traditions have changed so much over the years. When a female went to church, back in the day, she had to wear a dress. Now we can wear whatever we want; even jeans. I know we don't want to outshine the bride. But you were not going to wear the white dress to the wedding. And if there is another occasion having having to do with the wedding, I feel it is perfectly okay to wear the white dress.25:20

I’m sorry you went through this. I got married 3 years ago at the age of 61 and ordered a size 6 from JJ’s House 9 months before I got married and it fit perfectly. It was beautiful and perfect. Again. So sorry for your experience. You will be beautiful at your sons wedding Susan. You already are.

🎉Wear a smile, it's always in style!😅 I found a GOWN 10 years ago I JUST LOVED, SO I bought it. Accessories and all. Now it's time to wear it for the wedding, and I am 15 lb heavier, and gained another 5 due to the meds I have been taking for Lyme Disease.
So I had seen another dress I really liked, but it was discontinued. Then I found it on Ebay...bought it and It fit. Thinking I was done, I hung it on my closet door with the wrap I my departed sister had bought me.
THEN ONE DAY...I SAW THIS OUTFIT THAT MADE MY HEART SING!!! AND IT WAS A BIT MORE CASUAL , BUT It made me so happy. My daughter the bride LOVES IT TOO!!
Last week she mentioned to me that her soon to be mother in law was thrilled with my latest choice, as she was not finding anything she truly liked .
Now are going to the tasting for the dinner on Tuesday. I am wearing an adorable black dress I got on Susan's recommendation a couple years ago.

I think you need to put less emphasis on the dress. The months of stressing about it is just not worth it! People at weddings have relaxed so much in wedding attire. Let the bride get the perfect dress. You will look great in anything! I would thrift a mother of the bride dress bcuz it goes back of the closet after the wedding.

I disagree with your comment. She was excited to find something that she would feel pretty in and be proud to wear and those pictures taken will show that. Yes people don't dress up for events anymore and it's terrible. If anyone can find the perfect beautiful mother of the groom gown thrifted by all means but if you are just throwing on something because you are throwing it in your closet after it will show you really didn't care what you looked like.
My son's wedding is soon too. The bride is so laid back, she doesn't care the color or length the Mom's get. But, Most of the dresses I look at could be shortened and worn again if their gown length. Personally I prefer "tea length", a couple inches above the ankle.

Girl, you look absolutely gorgeous in everyone of these. I love the white dress too! You look so self confident in all of them too and that is very important. When my son got married it was at Christmas time. So, I was supposed to wear a silver dress, and her Mom was wearing gold. I was thankful that they told me the silver because I look much better in that color. I had tried on dresses from every where..My friend worked in a consignment shop, she called me and said I have a beautiful silver suit that would look so pretty on you, but you will have to have it altered. So, I went and sure enough it was perfect. I did leave there and go straight to the alterations lady I knew from my church. She did an excellent job, practically had to remake the skirt. I got so many compliments on it. I found the perfect silver shoes, that I could walk in. I mean in a matter of 2 wks I had every thing I needed to pull that night off. Of course, it ended in divorce. I was so mad, I took everything to the Goodwill store. I never wanted to see any of it again. I have regretted that since it has been several years now. He is happily married now, and gave me my wonderful grandson who does no wrong!! LOL I apologize for making this so long but I just had to share this. Love you and Desi very much. I am so looking forward to all the pics.
