Love the figure, not crazy about the base. The sign she's leaping over and the traffic light are cool, but I don't care for the pastel colors on the base. They seem off and don't compliment the figure. I wonder what it would have looked like if they had used different shades of smoky gray/black with maybe a bit of red thrown in. I think it would have given the piece an edgier feel. Much more a match for the figure's outfit and pose.

Never thought I'd jump onto the train of buying a figure for someone I don't know, but I just got my Inugami Korone nendoroid (I don't really watch her) and she's WAY too friggin cute, I'm so happy to have her ❤ she's the first nendo to arrive in my collection as well 😂

Never and probably never will. I saw some that were original figures and I loved the design, however I dont even have enough money to buy the ones I adore as a figure and as a character as well. Maybe when I geathered all the other figures I wanted but had to give up on (my grail list has 47 figures in it now), and after that. Not in this life time thats fore sure.
There’s a new 1/6 Violet Evergarden resin by Light Team Studio up for order. I preordered her immediately because she looks gorgeous!
Multiple times, and one's preordered. Best examples are a Tokisaki Kurumi figure because it was one of few kimono figures I could find (until I discovered AmiAmi's preowned section) and it was autumn themed, an alt outfit of Tomoe Gozen from F/GO in a China dress, Mash also from F/GO in a kimono but it was broken so cheap, Utaha from Saekano because kimono again, a random idol fox girl who will fit perfectly with a Tamamo Caster being shipped (they're both named Tamamo, even), and the preorder is Ying Swei's winter alt outfit lounging on a tree in a pond. And some random cheaper ones of characters I knew of and liked the design.
I like characters in kimonos or China dresses no matter where they're from.

... except for the Yowamushi Pedal scale I got secondhand on Mandarake
... and I preordered the rereleases of the 10 Count bunny boys.
... and in elementary school the first anime figure I ever got was a prize figure of Cardcaptor Sakura. I got my dad to buy her for me, and at the time I had no idea who she was (I don't have her anymore, she broke after a few years).
But besides that, I would never purchase a figure of a character I don't know :)

I used to only buy figures from franchises I knew and then I broke that rule when I bought the 1/7 Mona (Genshin Impact) and 2B Dx ver. (Nier Automata) figures. The opposite has happened and buying those figures got me into their respective franchises. I've started playing Nier and I like it so far! That and buying Original characters make me feel less guilty because they're just as new to me as they are to everyone else!

I’ve just did that, I just preordered the To Love-Ru Darkness Nemesis 1/6 by Union Creative. I had no idea who the character was but just loved the figure.
So then I had to buy the manga to find out who the character is, luckily it seems to be a manga I’d enjoy, but there’s 16 volumes of To Love-Ru before To Love-Ru Darkness, so I had to buy it first.
Good job going in order. Also, I hope you like lewd because To Love-Ru is lewd and To Love-Ru Darkness is super lewd.
@@linusgustafsson2629 Yea lewd is fine, I’ve been reading a lot of ecchi stuff over the last 2 months and started to love them, I’ve got into a cute phase where all I want is cute & fun haha.
Also the mangaka is Kentaro Yabuki, reading these ecchi manga all started with his Ayakashi Triangle, then I bought all the manga in the ad at the back of vol 2. Then fell in love with Sundome!! Milky Way, then I bought over 150 volumes of all different ecchi series haha.
But can’t wait to start To Love-Ru.

I used to have a rule where I didn't order a figure until I saw the anime. Now I order many figures without seeing the show. Recently I got a Blue Lock pop up parade.
I’ve been on the fence about buying this figure since I also don’t know anything about the character. That being said, I think this video helped me make up my mind, rip wallet-kun.
I've bought 4 OCs, which by nature of being OC.... there is not much to know about. But they are all much cheaper than this, the most expensive one being a bit under 200 after shipping. There are others where I know of them, but not much. Like Shiranui Mai, I don't play KoF but... how many people don't know anything about her? But all of those are also below 200 as well.
It would take actual love of character for me to spend the big bucks.
I love the design and preordered her but cancelled it while widdling down all my orders. Besides being expensive, I don't even have the room for her.

Same price, I got the Bang Dream Kasumi 1:7 from Craft Egg recently, I resisted the pre order and saved $150. Such an elaborate piece, insane amount of costume accessories, a bit tricky to assemble but just incredible. Next expensive pre-order is the Kentaro Yamabuki 10th anniversary Racing Miku I’m expecting in December. Simple but gorgeous.
Tbh I create unknown character like Miku figures. I get Miku bc they are pretty and cute or cool or whatever.
BUT I'm also an artist so I really love interesting sculpt from an artistic stand point so o have a lot more leeway

Yes, I'm a figure collector that buys based on look/ aesthetic/ design etc. and not on the character/ source material. I had to look up where Hatsune Miku was from because I thought there's so many figures of this girl, who tf is she and I have 3 figures of her? PS I still don't know where Rem and Ram are from but got a set of BiCute Bunnies of them 😂

Hi, I've been following you on RUclips for a long time, I really like the way you make your videos, in a clear and often fun and pleasant way to follow; I am writing to you due to a doubt that I have had for a long time: from your point of view, buying products such as models, figures (toys), Japan imports, today and perhaps even 6 or 7 years ago, is dangerous as it was, as regards risks derived from Fukushima or can it be close to 0? Over time, as a good collector, like you, I have acquired many figures and statues and today as a pseudo hypochondriac I ask myself the question, isn't it that I slipped dangerous or contaminated things into the house? I know it's probably a question to which giving a certain answer is not possible, but have you never had this thought? Anyway what do you think? Thank you very much, greetings!

I don’t know 90% of the figures I own.
I buy everything purely for the aesthetics.
But there must many like me.
Yea I’m the opposite, 100% of the figures I have are characters I know, if I don’t actually know the character the figure doesn’t push me to buy it. I did break that recently with the To Love-Ru Darkness Nemesis 1/6 from Union Creative. As soon as I seen that figure I immediately preordered it, I absolutely love it, and it’s only ¥18k
But by the time the figure is released I’ll know who the character is, because I’ve just bought all the volumes of the manga she’s from.
Most of my amiami preorders are of characters I don’t know 🥲
