Well. She is quite bigger and has waay worse speed and I think worse rudder. And no AP to punish Broadside. But she gets smoke + radar so busted beyond any measure regardless
It's not really true. We have other ships names like Ślązak or Kaszub that come from polish subcultures, and there are ships named after animals - Kormoran, Mewa, Orzeł etc. There are also ship names that come after cities, though these are usually transporters/sea mine ships (Lublin, Toruń, Kraków). I would say that only the most famous ships are named after weather conditions, and these are only the three you've pointed out. And since we don't have a "high tier" ship in Poland it makes sense that its name comes after a weather condition but I am not particularly mad about using a coastal city for the name. I would prefer something like a geographical region like Kaszuby or and animal like Żubr (Just like a name of a famous polish beer!)

And I think that it's not really important if a paper ship has proper name, historical accuracy should be limited to historical ships, and then it should be limited to when gameplay is not broken by it. Imagine having a modern ship with like 2 "Phalanx" AA guns - even if they would do much damage, but would be destroyed by first 2 shells that hit them, leaving ship completely defenseless. The same way ships that historically had no ASW or high caliber. should have ASW or high caliber if it makes them more fun or fair or playable. And by the same logic I think it's more important that a ship has a cool name, than if it's accurate or plausible (Puerto Rico is probably the least plausible name for an Alaska-class ship but it's more cool than Hawaii for example - but still should be Oregon), so Gdańsk fits me perfectly - although still, huge missed opportunity of a Żubr beer crossover like they do with transformers or azur lane. After all, Wargaming's Cinematic Universe is a cool place - nations still using real warships in current year instead of spawncamping everyone with nuclear submarines - much better gameplay.
Reading your post I can't believe you can play, PR1000 or less I bet... :D I often find myself destroying Marceau, for example, with shimakaze cannons, because it gets into a fight at too long a distance, and shimakaze, has much faster projectiles and more powerful guns. And as we know, we don't win by reload time, but by hitting the target :D So shima needs a cannon nerf?:D On the 2nd battle, you can also see how a Z-52 in smoke is destroyed from a torpedo (with hydro!). Maybe it needs to be improved e.g. hopping under the spacebar key? Preferably automatic, because the tomatoes won't do anything anyway, they'll just shoot their beak from the AP at the battleship :D
@@vito74m if the Marceau player does not have a skill issue i wouldnt be that easy. I played almost 400 games on Atlanta and i always build dds like this into range monsters with 16,5km range and have no problem hitting at all. I did it on Friesland and Marceau

Nah, smalland is still pretty busted with second highest gun dpm of dd's in-game and supersonic long range torps but I do agree this thing is pretty broken too
with the radar being so short in duration the rest of your team won't get a lot of use from it. it is 5 or 10 seconds before they will see you and then have to turn guns, and if they are loaded, they might, maybe get 1 quick snapshot before the radar dies. this means it is you versus them but only for a few shots if they remain calm and don't panic fire and enlarge their bloom. but it will be enough to control a cap and keep the enemy DDs away due to the radar threat, at least until counter play is figured out.
it's a 3 second delay (unless WG changed it very recently) and the ship shows instantly on mini map, aim from the mini map for first volley and it's a moot point.

easy: do not spend a dime on this game. money spend in games should have some sort of payback in fun, this game nowadays not only is not fun it is frustrating at best thus imo deserves 0 money spent. your average 60% WR 5-6 years playing this game noob in case you want to validate my opinion
I think the short answer is the only thing worth money if you _realllllllly_ want to spend it is premium time. Definitely not the battle pass or any containers. Maybe maybe a specific ship after you have played quite a bit and know you want to have a high tier credit/captain farmer and see one you like. Coal you get moderately quickly from daily containers and steel you get slowly from playing ranked.

The second battle was a loss because the Balao decided to not help hunt the sub. The best defense against subs is other subs hunting them, and then ASW, etc. support from teammates. But that all starts with subs hunting subs.
Regarding fast reload for the 5.5in...the _Mogadors_ were known to have sub-par electrical systems, that were supposed to be improved in upgrades (which were never done). As well as be completely replaced in the follow-up class (_Klebers?_). So for a _Mogador_-like vessel with post-war upgrades to have improved RoF is normal.
The radar render time will make this less effective in CBs and KOTS. What would be quite powerful would be to pair this up with stealthy DD or a Ragnar for the initial spotting and then use the 9km radar to finish the dd off.
In CB you call out your radar prior to using it, hopefully. Additionally it's a 3 second delay and the ship shows instantly on mini map, aim from the mini map for first volley and it's a moot point.
I think the biggest flaw with the ship other than no AP (which I think is fine given that this is mostly a DD hunting ship) is the lack of French saturation. This ship is MASSIVE and when focused is gonna be bleeding HP fast. But if you don't get focused, this ship looks extremely OP.
Something that doesn't get mentioned often is the delay your teammates get when an ally pops a radar. I think it's something like 6 seconds of not being able to see enemy ships apart from the mini map, making this 12 second radar effective for your team for only 6 seconds.... Food for thought.
That is very true and means for non clan games its more of a help to only you. For top tier clans all clued up the radar will be awesome. Also the radar has a lot of usefulness outside of killing enemy dds, eg enemy dd will not push/cap/spot as well because of the "what if he radars" and the info your team gets from your radar on a enemy flank sneaking torp dd is precious.
Realistically you would play this as a gunboat and start opening up on a DD you already have spotted and the radar would be to keep them visible if they try to smoke and escape. It's a finishing move basically. You wouldn't usually pop it randomly and hope people see something.

@@Stavrosstavrosstavros I will often commit to 5000 XP a day in co-op, takes me 4 or 5 battles per day, but they are usually almost all victories so they all count toward battle pass daily chains. It takes much longer to do the grind but it's far less stressful and I get more enjoyment out of each ship. When I'm within 30-40K of the end for long grinds, that's when I put on the blue boosters and go to Randoms. If I ground out everything hardcore in Randoms at maximum speed, I'd soon run out of credits to buy the ships! This way I have plenty of time to build up more, playing e.g. coal premiums in between.
Kleber well be better when the reload booster is up in every way but just raw power I would say this thing is up there lack of ap drags it down since it has kleber guns but then again we don't need any more light cruiser killers in the game
That is Wargaming tactic, get people to drop gold on the early access event and then see the results and "Have too" rebalance it... before you can grind up to in for free. 🤣
perma reload boosted Kleber, with smoke, 9km stealth radar and more hp. Seems fine😂😂😂 It even has french saturation. And not even that thing can do shit about a sub
I think that WG must throw away the ship development deparment and put another ones because they fail hard with every new line they produce and i speak for the normal lines not the OP sub lines.The people doesnt play them like Yodo Luisiana and i believe San martin too and thats a pity.

I would spec into full fire and dpm build with some range. It has good shell velocity so shouldn’t be so hard to hit targets at range. Build into what it’s good at. Looks to be quite a large destroyer, might be easy to hit at closer range and the torpedos are nothing to rave about. If you’re halving the fire chance and wasting captain points on IFHE you’re just making the destroyer less effective no doubt about it
ofc it is strong, they are going to sell it in early access, and then after some patches nerf it. they haven't done anything but breaking this game. well done wargaming again!

Slower than Kleby and Marc, and no AP which is going to limit power against broadside heavies. Longer range torps, but not high dmg and no saturation mechanic. Extremely short personal radar only, 2 or 3 salvos, at best. It seems like it will sit comfortably in the mix of the two French, the Vamp and Khaba, arguably the strongest DDs in the game. AND, clearly subs SUCK and make the game worse.
This is either broken or very bad design by WG. And this is why I stopped playing so much. No wonder players are leaving... I'm so disappointed with WG here. They have ruined this game...

Marceau has 25k more dpm... also this has no ap, big downside. but yea this is pretty powerful especially with the 2nd highest fire per min.

Agree, more radars is a poor WG move, however to make it stealth radars is just stupid of WG for a gunboat like this.

A co-op must-grind. I can see myself moving my Euro 21 pointer into this thing once I get it.

I think that WG must throw away the ship development deparment and put another ones because they fail hard with every new line they produce and i speak for the normal lines not the OP sub lines.The people doesnt play them like Yodo Luisiana and i believe San martin too and thats a pity.

I would spec into full fire and dpm build with some range. It has good shell velocity so shouldn’t be so hard to hit targets at range. Build into what it’s good at. Looks to be quite a large destroyer, might be easy to hit at closer range and the torpedos are nothing to rave about. If you’re halving the fire chance and wasting captain points on IFHE you’re just making the destroyer less effective no doubt about it
ofc it is strong, they are going to sell it in early access, and then after some patches nerf it. they haven't done anything but breaking this game. well done wargaming again!

Slower than Kleby and Marc, and no AP which is going to limit power against broadside heavies. Longer range torps, but not high dmg and no saturation mechanic. Extremely short personal radar only, 2 or 3 salvos, at best. It seems like it will sit comfortably in the mix of the two French, the Vamp and Khaba, arguably the strongest DDs in the game. AND, clearly subs SUCK and make the game worse.
This is either broken or very bad design by WG. And this is why I stopped playing so much. No wonder players are leaving... I'm so disappointed with WG here. They have ruined this game...
