if i remember right, a lot of ww1 era destroyers were still active during ww2 just because there really isnt that much of an upswing in technology. at the end of the day, they are large torpedo platforms. i dont remember what ship it was, but there was a ww1 destroyer that served all the way up until vietnam just because it was still a good ship
Buddy that is not true when it comes to destroyers , most was scraped after ww1 as there came new fuel - oil , before ww1 coal was main fuel but was very heavy and not so officient as oil , so smaller ships like destroyers was scraped (as was cheaper to build new destroyer ) , but some larger like battleships where converted to oil .
@adammarcinkowski-ko3el I should rephrase, there were more than people commonly believe. I'm also generalizing outside of the US. The Japanese had several destroyers that were considered old and obsolete, as did Germany, Italy, Britain and other European countries
@@cerneysmallengines Old and obsolete ships were still "fine-ish" for patrolling less dangerous waters and carrying out missions where a modern ship would be overkill or too expensive to lose. And a lot of them, when they encountered the enemy, took catastrophic losses.
@@waverleyjournalise5757 Especially on anti submarine duty. For the sub, it doesn't matter if its a Fletcher or an Umikaze, the depth charges hurt either way. Only difference would really be whether you can fit Sonar.
As a Hungarian this ship is a must have to me.
And seriously, I never ever expected to see a high tier Austro-Hungarian ship.

Only the last 2 mission chain isn't unlocked yet but the previous 2 is on their final missions.
Soon the flag and patch is mine and then the last 2 chain unlocked.
If I finish the current 2 chain I have 280 token from the 340 as the coupon still alive.

I really like the camo, too bad I quit the game because of subs shotgunning, superships ruining t9, and CVs being CVs.

Ya, going to go for this one. Much like the Benham, I wish they'd have some way to bring it back.
I have Benham got it for free , I love it have 1k battles in random , but I wont grind for Jäger , even tho I have Swiski commander , this ship is just "too little" in my opinion to waste time grinding it.
@@adammarcinkowski-ko3el It took me only 3 days to grind the Jager, and i didn't play all day.
I used 2 ships to farm all missions. Marceu and Grober Kurfurst (Assymetric Mode).
@@V3ntilator Yeah I have Jäger too , I stated to play it Friday 11:00 when asymetric battle started , played to like 18:00 I made dinner , and then Saturday I have started same time 11:00 and I have finnished 14ish and I have done whole mission , that was super easy , I have played wows in window mode on main screen and on my side screen I had you tube on it , I watch few great videos and I had smooth sailing in wows , I have used right ships to play it , and I used my brain , when came mission 8 times in top 5 I played 8 battles on Marceu in brawl , I lost 8 battles but I donr that in less that 30min , 22 defended or 55 defended , I went to brawl and I made deal with bb so he cap I farm defended and he take victory , I done both in 2 battles :))) , to be honnest last week 3 days I grinded W.Virginia so 2 days was supper easy , Benham grind was harder and much longer , but that dont change fact that Jäger is just average is must have it for regular player , as can spam torps , but for Benham owner is just average , WG would need to buff her , with torp reload speed I think 40s reload afther commander & ships torp mods would be fine because those torps just sucks and ship is not atractive at all to play for me , for me is ZF-6 or Hizen type ship I grinded have it but I never use it , and 75steel in xmas is ony thing that is good for . o7

This is my favorite ship to play in the whole game. I started this game all the way back in the beta going for the Japanese DD lime (just the Shimi at that time) because I liked the stealthy gameplay with potentially high reward with torps. I chose a great time to come back to the game. I haven't played since the first year and man do I enjoy this ship.
Big fan, PQ. It releases less torps than the Shima. 4x3 looks like? But the reload is insane haha. I don't think it's as powerful as at first glance. No smoke and then with radar AND planes being introduced or being run down by gunboats would also be an issue. Very ugly boat!
Shim torps are WAY slower. But, they go 20km 🤷♂️

Even without the reload on those things, just the fact that they're so fast makes them really dangerous. Very little time to react before you get struck...

well it looks like low tier DD's, because they took lower tier DD multiplied it torpedoes by 1.5x (original design called for 4x2) and given it modern torps so they can slap it at tier 9 instead of tier 4-6 since they sell for far more.

One the few good things this game has left was a good ship design.
Most of historical ships that looked beautiful are already in the game and some of made up designs also look amazing.

The Jaeger is essentially a ninja. It has to stay concealed whenever possible as even tier 7 DDs can easily outgun it.

So this is like an Okhotnik at T9.
It almost feels like a T9 Derzki - crap guns, all the torps all the time.
I found out it is difficult to target low detection DD using rocket due to the air detection range. When it is detected the rocket setting range is overshot.
After 5 days on intense grinding i got mine, it's indeed very fun to play and very good to kill that ship that get's always almost dead.
I'd like to see her move to tier 10 with more ship speed. 😊 Clan Battles fun. Oh and 15km torps

I got this ship in only just above 2 days. All missions is simple. You have to pay 20 millions extra for the Steampunk Camo.
Edit: The 25% off Coupon lasts only 7 days.
I watch these videos and the Random matches bear no resemblance to my own. I've tried a pure torp build with the module in the 6th spot on several ships and most recently on my Yueyang.
First, I have a torp tube incapacitated practically every time i take a hit and loose one or more in practically every game. It basically nullifies the reload booster for the Yueyang since I play about half of all of my games with only one tube.
Second, German secondaries, HE bombs and rockets absolutely wreck my torpedo tubes. In your 3 matches I believe you got attacked ONE TIME by planes and they missed. I don't think I've ever had a game where the CV left me alone after spotting me. In my experience once the CV has located me he will continue to drop HE bombs and fire rockets at me until he sinks me. I believe the last game I played in my Yueyang the CV hit me with 25 rockets from a single squadron within the first 5 minutes of the match. He destroyed one of my tubes with the first launch and destroyed me with the 3rd. I believe it was the Malta or Midway whichever has 6 planes per squadron with 10 rockets each.
So, while I find the videos interesting to watch they in no way motivate me to try any of these new ships. Sorry.

You're getting torpedo tubes knocked out almost every hit? That's not even RNG. Fix your captain skills and take the module to reduce chance of torpedoes being disabled. Practice staying undetected too.
@@j_taylor I did take the module which reduces the chance by 40% but I also took the module which increases the chance by 50%. THAT is the pure torpedo build Potato is using. And I do have Last Stand and Preventative Maintenance. I'm not sure they have ANY effect on Permanent loss of torpedo tubes. But thanks for the opportunity to clarify.
I'm not sure if it is a recent change or a recent reveal but apparently the HP of modules is randomly generated. Whether this contributes to the issues I have, I could not say. But I swapped out the 6th Module, eliminating the 50% chance and I stopped PERMANENTLY losing my torp tubes. But then that is not the build Potato is using. So, again, his games are not like mine.
Finally, could you suggest HOW to prevent the CVs and Subs from detecting a DD?

Jager trades a really really lot for a good concealment and quantity of torps
Torps themselves deal really really pathetic damage,the ship is absolutely massive,you only have 3 guns and you'd get outgunned lower trier dd's

The missions of the campaign are challenging to be done in one month, the killer is that the discount coupon is valid only till 14 July: this allows to collect maybe 50 AU token via missions by then, so you have to shell housands of dubs, hoping to get lucky and get the only one with 150 tokens

This reminds me of the Kamikaze at T5. Great torps, great concealment, bad guns. Unfortunately this new dd is at t9 and I refuse to play there due to superships, overpowered subs and carriers, and terrible match making. Great video though.

How does one obtain a JÄGER? I just started playing a little over a month ago so I missed the event. This ship is very much my play style and I really want one. I was considering getting the Z-44 for coal, but this has more torpedos and a much better camo. Any info would be great, thanks!

A ship with tier 2-3 characteristics is good qt tier 9 with just a few buffs to torpedo speed and ship hp.
Really highlights how WG can and should stop worrying about actual timeframe for ships and just add all the historical ships.

Many T8-10 US UK and German second BB lines are WW1 era designs or "modernizations" of WW1 era concepts..

Don't get me wrong, I think this looks like a lot of fun in a non-CV game, but the combination of low HP, slow speed, pathetic AA and no smoke makes it look like a pre-dinner snack for a competent CV player. Please tell me if I'm misinterpreting this?

PQ explained that it will be grindy missions plus spending resources, but with the usual option to buy your way past some of the missions.

this is a legit point. BBs are becoming rare, but some do offer some nice torp belts that would make these torps pretty useless. Monty's belt comes to mind.
If u want to rely on flooding and going full torp build but you never take the Flood perk on the 1 point for commander ? How come ?
It makes only a tiny difference.

@@EvoraGT430 Liquidator is a percentage inscrease which means every torpedo >100% flooding chance gets way more than the 30 percentage points you might expect.
It's a very good talent for torpedo focused DDs whose indivial torpedo flooding chance is low (

Not a mod, those are just settings that are normally turned off. It's a part of the base game. There's an alt hud that improves a lot of awareness. 😅

Pretty nice to see it, but battle impact is zero( even you with dev strikes never was at top-1 in battle score. Gunboats are the ones to push the limits, I love Daring, Kleber and Smaland

Console most dds are running with 5.0-5.4 conceal lel
