Honestly, I think Lugia should've been a water/flying type, to begin with. It lives at the bottom of the ocean, but that makes it a psychic type? I never saw why it was like that, but I don't think we can change it after 8 generations.
One does not simply put Lugia at only Number 9 and then proceed to mis-type it. (Psychic/Flying not Psychic/Water) In much the same way, one does not simply play the Brother My Brother clip and not get hit by a truck-load of nostalgia and feels.

I love Meloetta as well, but I much more prefer her Pirouette Forme. I mean, Aria Forme Meloetta is cute, but it holds a really special place in my heart.

As a guy who dropped out of pokemon in Gen 1 but still for some reason clicks on stuff like this, my heart warms that Alakazam is still fondly remembered. He carried my kid ass through Red and Blue (because psychic was horribly broken then). Mewtwo of course was totally expected at number 1.
What's interesting about Wobbuffet is that it's one of the series' "gimmick" Pokemon that was weak at the start, but became a true terror once Game Freak worked to eliminate its shortcomings. Another example is Ditto, who's only move, Transform, could turn it into any Pokemon it faced, but its pitiful overall stats (as well as the fact that you had to waste a turn setting the move up) made it really only good for breeding fodder. That is, until subsequent generations gave it the ability, Imposter, which allows it to not only transform the second it hit the battlefield, but also gives it equal stats to whatever Pokemon it's facing in every Category except Health. In Wobbuffet's case, its introduction to the game was quite underwhelming also. Being able to tank hits with its insane Health and deal double damage back, via Counter and Mirror Coat was appealing on the surface...until you realized that you were never going to know what attack was coming your way. So with no chance to prepare, it was a total crap shoot whether you'd land a successful hit or just waste a turn and take damage. This all changed with the introduction of Wobbuffet's pre-evolution, Wynaut, which could learn the move, Encore, forcing the opposing Pokemon to repeat the last move used for three turns. While this still required taking a hit to set up, knowing what move was coming allowed Wobbuffet to deal massive damage, while its Shadow Tag Ability prevented Pokemon from being swapped out to counter Encore's effect. Granted, this was still a gamble of sorts if the move your opponent used wasn't an ACTUAL attack (such as a Utility Move or a hazard setup), but no one can deny that Encore's inclusion succeeded in making Wobbuffet exponentially more dangerous.

Let’s see how bad this is 1. Slowbro move pool is not the best In one GEN one so it was a way better water type pokemon 2. Lugia Learned Only one psychic move and that’s future sight in gen 2 and the Only good psychic type move that it gets is psychic by Tm and lugia is not water type 3. Deoxys is just Mae in competitive other psychic type Pokémon are way better the deoxys 4. I have no problems with metagross In fact I would place it higher on the top 10 being one of the most powerful competitive Pokémon it’s an Uber one thing though metagross takes neutral to Electric in fact it wold beat the shit out of Pikachu most likely 5. Wobbuffet is shit that’s it 6. Espionage is decent that’s it It’s not great it’s not bad it’s all right 7. Mew is good that’s it 8. Gardivoir is ok it’s Fallen off in the past few games 9. The in-game lore gives context to its official typing in that it didn't originally live in the sea. It and Ho-oh lived at the towers near Ecruteak City until one of them burned down. Lugia chose to live in the sea because its wings could generate hurricane-force winds with a light fluttering.
I love Psychic Pokemon. I even made a full party of Psychic Pokemon back in Gen 4 and it was awesome. Metagross was my power House and Gardevoir and Gallade were my main duo.

I love Psychic Pokemon. I even made a full party of Psychic Pokemon back in Gen 4 and it was awesome. Metagross was my power House and Gardevoir and Gallade were my main duo.
