Yes !Took my Daughter on a Daughter , Father ride when she was in college. We went from Albuquerque to Sedona,Grand Canyon ,Las Vegas ,Death Valley ,Yosemite,Then San Francisco for two days ,Up the coast to the Avenue of Giants ,then back through all those mountains to Nevada and the loneliest Hwy , Utah and Colorado and back to Albuquerque. High light trip of my life 😎👍
You gonna buy one now? I think I am. The DCT setup is the same as on the Rebel 1100/1100T. Very smooth. Only the manual version is available at my dealer.
I lived in the Bay area for a few years and my wife and I used to take the BART across the bay to the City and our favorite place to visit was Pier 39. Great food and awesome tours. Glad you enjoyed it. The Golden Gate is more majestic when the fog barely starts to roll in. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, I’ve seen the Golden Gate Bridge several times. It’s absolutely beautiful. As a local to the Northern California Coast, on the West Coast of North America, fog occurs mostly from May to October every year.
Awesome video! I guess I got "lucky" when I visited, I got to see the bridge; but that eerie look of the bridge appearing and disappearing in the fog is AMAZING.
Hey Jess, you are correct. The traffic absolutely sucks here. I will lane split when I have to, but if I can go out of my way to get away from where traffic is going to be I will absolutely do that unfortunately, in order to get anywhere around here he needs to drive on the highway to get any kind of country. And that’s the way that the Golden Gate looks most of the time that’s fog not clouds in the summertime. It’s all fog and cold.
That brings back memories. I was stationed out there and stayed in the bay area for 2 years after getting out of the military. The temp drops from 90 to 50 as you enter SF...yup I had no jacket first time. Now I'm back in Central Ohio where I grew up.
I lived in the Bay Area for a number of years and loved it there. I've crossed the Golden Gate a number of times on two wheels-it was an awesome experience! Now I live in Sacramento, so I'm two hours from Tahoe and the same with S.F. I'm traveling up the Mendocino Coast in June. I've never been, but I heard the views are majestic. Great video!!!
Purchase your tickets as early as possible. They are always sold out. I've been to SF lots of times and I still never made it to Alcatraz. I had to settle for the bay boat ride that goes around it but doesn't stop there. I attempted to buy the prison tour trip tickets twice I think and they were always booked solid. It's a hell of a disappointment. Hope you get there.
I have only seen the Golden gate bridge in Photographs and movies (Dirty Harry), Your commute through San Francisco etc, is exactly why people go for DCT ( Automatic ) Transmissions, the stop start, up and down hills .
San Francisco is called “The city on 7 hills”. Lombard is the crookiest (SP?) street in the world. Glad you got to see Fort Point and drive through part of the Presideo. My dad was stationed there in WWIi. Sorry the bridge was fogged in when you were there. It is a beautiful site. Ride safe and keep that beautiful smile. God Bless. Jeff
I was just in SF a month ago seeing the exact same sights you did in the vid... the day I went to see the Golden Gate it was warm and sunny! Enjoyed the bridge and the Presidio on human-powered two wheels, not my motorcycle, but amazing nonetheless. Looks like a completely different world when the fog is in full force!
I've been to SF lots of times (by car :( ) and have never seen the bridge socked in like that. I've walked out to the middle before turning around. I still wish I had walked to the North side for the POV there, other than what you see from a car. Pretty cool. @11:25 it looks like you are passing the Palace of the Fine Arts off to the left there. It's a really pretty park and used in a number of movies. The Rock with Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage is the first that pops into my head. There used to be a great little breakfast place off to the left as well called Home Plate. Sorry to see that camera mount fail on Lombard. I think I did that once because of the wait and all the tourists and went through it as quickly as possible. Any sort of "experience" was completely eclipsed. The Marina District, as I recall, got the most pounding in the 1989 earthquake because of the land fill it is all built on. All structures just pancaked. I haven't been out there since 2018. I know I will be going back as one of my sisters lives in Sonoma. Maybe I'll see if ride share has a DCT to try out. There are some great places in the city but also points North and South. I'd recommend going back to do a coast run of CA at least, if not the fullness from Mexico to Canada. In fact, I'm making a promise to myself right now to do just that, as a bucket list thing.
Temporary fix for stripped threads is carry teflon pipe tape with you. Wrap the threads with several wraps and that will work until you get a permanent fix.
In late 1971 and early 1972 I was stationed at Vallejo just north of Oakland. I bought a 5 speed Pinto and went down the road you guys went down, Lombard. I will never drive another standard shift car in San Francisco ever again.
That Africa Twin is a pretty good choice for the area given the traffic and sometimes really bad roads, especially in SF. We lived in Sonoma and Marin for many years before making our escape. We've ridden down Lombard (2 up on a Gold Wing) and ridden pretty much every road in Marin and Sonoma Counties. Bet you were smelling onions or garlic there on Highway 37. Gotta say that I don't miss the traffic, the crazy drivers or the fog that you mistook for clouds (OK, it's really, really low altitude clouds!). I especially don't miss riding in SF except for the route through the Presidio and down along the beach on the Great Highway... but I'll take a pass through the Sierras nowadays. Glad you had a good time despite the typical SF weather!
Learned to ride in the City, the hills provided jumps, ripping up Lombard on occasion was fun. In my youth you had to be careful in the Presidio the young M.P.s loved pulling over a bunch of teenagers going 2 mph over the speed limit. If you ever make it back you should check out the Marin Headlands (the hills at the north end of the G.G. Bridge) the vista, views and ride are tops.
I want to ride to the golden gate also maybe this year in july. But have you checked out the macinaw bridge in Michigan it is a sister bridge to the golden gate just not painted safely orange. And i believe it has a metal grated surface that would be like riding on air. Would love to see that.
I think the questionnaire is I think it's everything about riding a motorcycle the adventure the distance to capabilities of challenges and having the capability end the possibilities of definite exploration and the knowledge of having friends you can count on you know that you do
I suffered the same fate. I am still upset to this day. Was a beautiful day right up till I got to the bridge and still say I have never seen it. Ridden over it but never got to see it.
Hello, Jesse. I have driven across the Golden Gate in a car when it was an absolutely clear day. It was amazing. I've also sat on the Sausalito side of the bay and waited for almost 10 hours for the fog to clear so I could get a picture of San Francisco.
I'm sorry you didn't have a clear day. The views are spectacular! Also sorry you got so close to us and we didn't ride over to see ya'. ((Red Bluff off of I-5)
Wow! Great video. I had the chance to see the GGB... but not on a motorcycle. But still, it was awesome. And I also loved to see the city. Too bad for your 360... They have a guarantee on their product. Since you have the footage, I would try to send a request. Otherwise, you can change the lens.
So cool to see a bit of San Fransisco! Never been there, as a European 😆 But totally forgot it was so hilly. But looks beautiful. Wouldn't move to there even if I had the funds though. 😆I like my peace and quiet in smaller towns or villages. And half an hour to just get across the city for example. 😆 Even though, I guess that's part of it too. Bet it does have a shit ton of amazing stuff to see and do in the vicinity.
Wow, seems like those steep brick-covered hills would be very slippery. You really showed your riding skill, Jess. I bet you're glad you didn't have to operate a clutch lever through the friction zone while you were carrying the 360 pole in your left hand on those hills!! 🥺 Ride safe.👍🏾
Girllll when you was going down that hill(after you dropped your camera). I don't think I was breathing till you got off it. Hope I'm as good as you, once I start riding.
Alcatraz is a must if youve never seen it. Had a rental car there once and it cured me. San Fran is just is not a fun place to drive. To say they have a homeless problem is also an understatement .The third time there was not the charm for me but there are some cool places to see for sure.
I wish I would known you were in norcal...the Sacramento spyder ryders woulda gone with...or maybe just me..I woulda brought out the can am F3L Special Series..
Hi @Het Two Weels. I see you are using a quad-lock phone-holder? I also see you using an iPhone. Aren't you affraid that the vibrations will "ruin" you're iPhone camera's? (They are vibration sensitive)....i AM thinking about a phone holder also, BUT the iPhone sensitivity s holding me back......Thnx for your response. Kind regards from The Netherlands.
The politicians in California has ruined . I did Navy Training there for over a year and I really loved it....not now though. I have a cousin (Ashley) in LA that runs an actors studio and theatre and I visit her....her dad (Roger)and myself were like brothers and I so miss him. Stay Blessed Jess
Everyone wish a happy birthday to my good friend Maria who was my fav cinema colleague, not working with us anymore, miss working with her but we still talk and remained very good friends
Coolest motorcycling city ever. Spent year there in 2008 and rode my BMW F800ST all over the Bay Area. Thanks for sharing. Lost most of my vision so enjoy sharing rides with you. Enjoy. 😎
as a native burrito eating californian i gotta tell you that none of us actually care about earthquakes. now that im in florida i have a similar apathetic attitude towards hurricanes.

Have you ever seen the Golden Gate Bridge?
Saw it years ago
I am from Iowa,...I've crossed it 3 times on different trips.
I've seen the little Golden Gate Bridge in Eureka Springs. Does that count? 🤣
Yes, one of my favorite cities to visit. I’m from CA, but moved away almost 20 years ago. When it’s clear, it’s an incredible view!
My wife and I rode across it in 2010. We rode 6500miles in 18 days, 2 up. Rode back from Frisco on highway 50. Best road trip of my entire life
Yes !Took my Daughter on a Daughter , Father ride when she was in college. welcome to the Bay Area My favorite Mark Twain Quote
" The coldest winter I've ever spent was a summer in San Francisco"
It's called support when you need it thank you Jesse for sharing❤
You gonna buy one now? I think I am. The DCT setup is the same as on the Rebel 1100/1100T. Very smooth. Only the manual version is available at my dealer.
Looks like a fun adventure! Thanks for sharing. Cool to see you and Spite riding around together. I totally agree too peopley
Glad you enjoyed it!
Pacific Coast Highway NorCal=Motorcycle Heaven
This is Awesome! You are riding where I grew up. Thanks for filming this. ❤

Thanks Jess for another great road trip can't wait for that day you go across the Mackinaw bridge here in Michigan you will love it
That foghorn is so menacing! Expect Godzilla to show up at any minute
Awesome video! I guess I got "lucky" when I visited, I got to see the bridge; but that eerie look of the bridge appearing and disappearing in the fog is AMAZING.
Rode across that bridge many times. Never in the fog. Now I frequent the Narrows Bridge in Tacoma,Wa
Super cool. I visited SF 10 years ago, lots of fun.
I’d like to try an AT, liking my Rebel 1100 with DCT a lot so far.
Hey Jess, you are correct. The traffic absolutely sucks here. Great video thank you very well done.
Thank you!!

Too funny you were in my neck of the woods (Vacaville, Ca.). Yeah the marsh/mud smell on highway 37 is distinctive!
I think the questionnaire is I think it's everything about riding a motorcycle the adventure the distance to capabilities of challenges and having the capability end the possibilities of definite exploration and the knowledge of having friends you can count on you know that you do
When I lived in Monterey, CA the fog would come in thick every day around 2:00 pm.
Crazy!
Wish you were going to be here I would’ve love to ride with you y’all for a little bit… great video 🙏🏼
I suffered the same fate. I am still upset to this day. Was a beautiful day right up till I got to the bridge and still say I have never seen it. Ridden over it but never got to see it.

I’ve been looking for the white transalp how did you get a hold of one? Which shop? 😊
Awesome views Jess! I do want to consider the Honda DCT.
Can't go wrong with Honda's, I have a 02 CBR 954rr myself and has been dependable. Routine maintenance and your golden 👍
I'm sorry you didn't have a clear day. The views are spectacular! Also sorry you got so close to us and we didn't ride over to see ya'. ((Red Bluff off of I-5)
You need to check out the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan!!
Wow! Great video. I had the chance to see the GGB... but not on a motorcycle. But still, it was awesome. And I also loved to see the city.
Too bad for your 360... They have a guarantee on their product. Since you have the footage, I would try to send a request. Otherwise, you can change the lens.
Hope you got to see the Sequoia (Redwoods).
Ah yes! The Golden Gate Bridge. There are some very good (and pricy) restaurants in that area

The insta cameras, I have heard you can tape it so it does not twist its way off the spool. I will have to try that next time with mine.
I was at the GGB in 2016. Weather was beautiful.
Excellent video as always 👍🏾
Much appreciated!
Im very familiar with these roads. Highway 37 n the beginning for sure. crazy drivers!!
Girllll when you was going down that hill(after you dropped your camera). I don't think I was breathing till you got off it. Hope I'm as good as you, once I start riding.
It was definitely steep!
You were in Sac. Did you go to the old Town? That's a great place for a video. Also, knowing you, you would enjoy it.
I know..I live in west Sacramento I could've taken em..I ride w the sacto spyder ryders club
Awesome really enjoyed watching this one was a little weirded out by the way it ended but nonetheless it was a great video ride safe and enjoy
Glad you got a chance to see the driverless Waymo cause I equally shocked to see it 😂😂😂 It didn't run me over when I jumped in front of it.
Man I wish I knew you were here in Sacramento..I wouldve taken you guys up to the hills around Placerville
Alcatraz is a must if youve never seen it. Had a rental car there once and it cured me. San Fran is just is not a fun place to drive.
To say they have a homeless problem is also an understatement .The third time there was not the charm for me but there are some cool places to see for sure.
16 min mark THE STREET.😂😂❤
I see you’ve officially met Karl The Fog. He never misses an opportunity to screw up someone’s sightseeing plans around the Bay!
I have a 2017 Africa Twin and a 2011 Road King, how did you like the AT?
Never seen the bridge, but from this side of the screen, that fog on the bridge is quite aesthetic
Beware of Godzilla and Muto fighting each other in the bay!
Oh no! Not the 360!😱I'd be heartbroken if my camera took a dive. Cool video as always 👍
I wish I would known you were in norcal...the Sacramento spyder ryders woulda gone with...or maybe just me..I woulda brought out the can am F3L Special Series..

There was a self driving car on the bottom of Lonbard. Glad it didn't run over you. 😂
❤ hello Jess my name is Chester and I'm watching you in San Francisco I just saw you on the Golden gate bridge
Everyone wish a happy birthday to my good friend Maria who was my fav cinema colleague, not working with us anymore, miss working with her but we still talk and remained very good friends
Hey Jess- the comment on how long this thing is… That’s what she said!! 😂😂
The hills in san Fransisco is why the hell angel's would set their bikes up Frisco style to make it safer for them to handle their bikes around there
Fun fact, some of the steel for the bridge was made by Bethlehem Steel in Pottstown Pa. which is where I’m from
Hey Jess, what map app are you using?
Google
What phone case do you use I bought the same phone mount for my motorcycle but it won't stick to my Otterbox phone case can you recommend a good one?
I’m currently using Quad Lock. Most phone mounts require the same brand phone case.
What riding gloves are those you are wearing ?
Odin MFG
🌿 THE VITALS LOOK GOOD AND IT DIDN'T LOOK TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE THE BEST I COULD SEE 🙈
The car was mapping the roads. For the self driving cars of the future
Aww man. You were in Sac? (Sacramento) Im in Sac area. Yeah I'm not a fan of the Bay Area traffic either.
Well that ended abruptly. Hope everything went s ok .
That’s what happens when you don’t plan your videos and forget to record an outro 😂
you missed the twiesties of stinson beach north of s.f you were close though.
Oh trust me, there were LOTS of twisties on the entire journey 😅 this was just a one-off kind of day
Personally, I’m staying out of California
I'm never moving back, but it has some of the best roads in North America.
nice video, and you look like the main actress from the movie clueless. Have you heard that before
Welcome to the Bay
Dont you ever check the weather report before a bike trip?
Coolest motorcycling city ever. Spent year there in 2008 and rode my BMW F800ST all over the Bay Area. Thanks for sharing. Lost most of my vision so enjoy sharing rides with you. Enjoy. 😎

Welcome to California were you have to expect the unexpected
Nope lol, did you happen to get a chance to go to Alcatraz? I think that place would be so cool
It's great to hear that you've had the chance to ride the new Africa Twin; not everyone gets that opportunity. However, I noticed you didn't provide any feedback on the bike. At the end of the day, I suppose you're not really into Honda, correct?
"if I'm being completely honest" as Jess always says.... A automatic bike is for me! Great vid 😮Jess! Thanks!🥰👍👏🏻🙏🏻🏍️
🌿 IF YOU HAD TO RIDE ONE OF YOUR MOTORCYCLES 🤔 WHICH ONE WOULD YOU RECOMMEND ❓
nice video...👍
Thank you 😁
not sure my brain could wrap around an automatic motorcycle... I would constantly be looking for the shifter and clutch ....LOL Cali is a beautiful, great place to visit with incredible weather but could never give up my freedom live there....
SF ain't Ohio...just look at the Tuna Poke lunch! Delicious!
The threads on both ends of those selfie sticks suck. I have pulled the threads off the other end of mine an I am guessing what just happened to yours is the same thing that happened to the one you lost.
Yep
I don't think I will be going there any time soon.

I’m stepping away from Harley, selling my 2022 Low Rider S to pick up one these or the Tracer 9 GT+
