That threw me for a moment. How does Fortnine know about Thames TV? How could they know? They're American - from Canada. It's as if they threw in a random Gordon the Gopher reference.

As far as I'm concerned, no other motoring youtuber has the kind of production quality this channel does. In 8 minutes it tells you every single thing you need to know about the bike without needing to say a single word. Love it!
Haven't seen any motor vehicle review that uses almost no words yet explain so much about ride quality, speed, handling, ease of use and ergonomics so well.

In Australia a lot of people work in the inner city where there's no parking, but at the same time we all live in the suburbs which aren't served by public transport. So a lot of people drive to the train/bus/ferry station, but then you get to the inner city where the public transport again falls apart, with a choice between a 20 minute wait for a transfer bus or a 2km+ walk (often over steep hills). If last mile transport makes sense anywhere, it's here.

my electric unicyle is my motocompacto. its always in my trunk and i love exploring on it. 18" wheel 60lbs and i just rode it nearly 70 miles one way on a charge to get my new car, loved every minute of it
This channel and content is so highly detailed and polished, from the Motorola Microtac Flip phone even all the way down to the pun in the description and the "Gear Featured"! Ryan's Mr. Bean is so on point, it's as if it was an A.I. face swap on Rowan Atkinson. I was not mad I was clickbaited into thinking this was a review. And on top of all that, there's actually a general practicality review at the end! Bravo! 👏👏

But constant repeat/syndication does that to you. Blackadder had that too. 4 seasons with "only" 24 episodes total.
Alot of confusion around the success of Mr. Bean and the amount of episodes it had. The animated show was where it grew to truly shine. There are well over 100 episodes of that and the dozen I have seen have all been alot of fun.
And I will add one thing... the world right now, needs more of this upbeat connecting energy. We are so disparate right now. It sucks. You bring people together. I love that!

It looks nice quality wise, but from the skit and rest of this video, a folding bike (especially a folding ebike) would be better 9 times out of 10. Amazing video, I love the Mr Bean skit

As someone who is both a car and bike guy, I want one of these solely to stuff in the back of my new Honda Type R and ride around the pits at races or at car meets. Its not practical, but 1000 dollars for some goofy fun and a conversation piece isn't too bad in today's world.
This is exactly what I would want one for as well. Especially as someone who's had a few Honda's, it is super quirky and fun, and practical for applications like that

Pedaling in full leathers was certainly interesting, but it felt good to move the legs after being scrunched up in the riding position all day. More importantly seeing him fold it up and put it in his track bag convinced me to get one. Pricey af, but it's been ridiculously useful and fun as hell.

Last mile transport solutions make perfect sense as a concept: A taxi from my house to the next city is about 20 minutes. The train is about 20 minutes. But it's 40 minutes walk to get to the train station. Another 30 minutes at the other end. The train is the best transport solution, but if you have stops everywhere then it's too slow, like buses. Infrequent stops and it's too inconvenient, like 30-40 minutes walk at each end. Use something like this and you arrive 50 minutes sooner and not sweaty. THAT is the use case.
somewhat the issue though. its great in CONCEPT. forget to charge it or take that train to somewhere you cant charge and it may be an issue. If it does catch on then you have the same issue we have now with electric scooters clogging up sidewalks and becoming hazards. Regulate the size and speed of them and they go back to being no quicker than walking. its a solution to a question no one asked yet. most cities need to fix or work out their public transport before something like this is an issue, and for Japan that has sorted its public transport, its a non issue.
I use a Onewheel pint as a last mile solution. It’s cheaper, faster, smaller, longer range, and slightly less dorky. Doesn’t hold my baguettes though 😢

Love the Mr. Bean! This was awesome! Nice touch with the Thames TV intro. I really like the idea but not practical - there's a good use case for services where someone takes one to pick you up at a pub when you've had too much to drink, they drive you home and take the scooter back to home base.

If it takes more than 15 minutes to walk there, it's last mileS transport, not last mile.
Problem is, there's nothing this can do a brompton folding bike wouldn't do better.. At the same price no less for the non electric brompton.
'Something like this' would be an stand up scooter, whether a Lime, or one you bought yourself for half the price of the Honda.

I fucking love how cinematic fortnine videos are, not a single word said and still conveyed everything. I also love the motocompo but I wish the modern implementation was stronger.
Love the Mr. Bean! This was awesome! Nice touch with the Thames TV intro. I really like the idea but not practical - there's a good use case for services where someone takes one to pick you up at a pub when you've had too much to drink, they drive you home and take the scooter back to home base.
Wait, so they drive you in your car?
Oh man, that sounds even worse than driving strangers in one's own car... Driving stranger's cars... Have you _seen_ strangers cars?
Tell you what, just drive a flatbed tow truck, to pick up drunks & their cars & drive them home.
