Surf Fishing Is Hard, Striped Bass Beach Fishing, broke a rod and destroyed some camera gear.

Third time out surf fishing and I finally caught a fish (not the first striper I have caught from the beach in my life but the first one this year). The current was ripping the wind was blowing directly onto show and the surf was rough. I killed my eels, fried a gopro and a mic and snapped one of my striper rods but I had a blast and learned more which is all that matters beside catching fish. I am going to switch to dusk and dawn fishing and I am going to ditch the waders for a wet suit and some better waterproof bags. Great video!! Way to stick it out and keep trying. Thank you to giving props to us surfcasters, we are definitely a different breed. It takes years of reading wind, tides, water temperature, plug techniques, etc to hone in our skills. All that said, even we surfcasters are left scratching our heads sometimes. If you put me on a boat I am a fish out of water.....hahahah. Keep pluggin' and tight lines!!

I moved to Maine in 2019 from NW Louisiana. Sadly once i moved up here i stopped my fishing and outdoor hobbies for multiple reasons. Happy to find your channel as a newbie to the area of the country. Augusta based here and i plan on doing more this year!
