Awesome drum tones as always, Adam. I always love how you balance your snare room in the mix, and balance the drums as a whole for that matter. Been following for a long time and happy to try and integrate some of this processing into my own projects! Random Question: does your kick track also have the internal GGD reverb routed to it as well?
Love your mixing tutorialsw! Could you do a video on how you achieve the ultra-heavy low octave tones like those from the outro of Kimura, the outro of SUPER SUDDEN DEATH, or the heavy section of Battlestar Nostalgica? Thanks!
And when I say clipping it’s literally clipping on the meters inside the P5 plugin itself. Which is odd bc when I route it out to my pro tools tracks it’s definitely not clipping but it is pretty hot
Hi Adam! Great video, I'm using your approach with Turbo On to get a good songwriting template and it's funny how good the internal processing is at the end of the day to get very good effect. One thing that I can't figure out - my internal GGD reverb channel is all routed to first pair which is kick - is there any chance to change this? I've been trying to figure it out but it seems there is no info on that anywhere. Cheers!
im so confused on the sidechaining mids buss.... I have my daw set up exactly how it it is. but if the drums arent going to the mid buss, how are you sidechained it to the,? the "sidechain" button was only on on his compressor, the Pro Q3 and the MB didn't have the sidechain so HOW are you doing that? hahaha
Sick man thanks for your reply. What’s the guitar and string gauge ? Been trying to get into recording music like this and struggle to find solid info about it lol
Fantastic video! Quick question: with Kontakt Player 7, how have you gone about creating a Frankenkit using GGD libraries? I can’t seem to wrap my head around it 😵💫
Everyone is going for the same sounds. It all sounds the same. There is literally no personality in any of it, which is horrible because clearly some of these “engineers“ have talent and could be making music that people will know and remember 20 years from now… But instead, they’re making something that sounded exactly like the same thing that sounded good yesterday, there’s no difference between them. The saddest thing I didn’t hear was “this will make the song better“…… None of them say this. None of them talk about “the song“… And repeat that over and over again. They talk about how this will stand out, and that will stand out, and this will stand out, and this will be bigger, this will have more edge, none of them talk about the song
+1 for Joe's weird plugin project sounding freakin awesome
Those two snares work wonderfully together, might have to try this out on my own template!
Need more like this Adam!
Your music and mixing ability is unreal!
yeahhhh
You the one who mixed Moray Pringles LP? Awesome work, man I looove the sound (esp. guitar and drums) of that album.

awesome metal production tips bro. PLEASE do a video about this KILLER guitar tone and mixing process. thaaaank you🤘🥳

That's some great mixing. Where do you learn to have so much accuracy and get all this knowledge? I never understand how mixers learn this stuff
I love the color coded Studio one!
Great Sounding Kit.
At what velocity levels did you programm the drums in this song?
And where can I learn more about that bass plugin?
Awesome! Thanks for doing this - highly appreciated 🙂
Hello! Your sound is always great! This video is great too! I'm curious about the headphones you use. What brand and model is this?
bro i want this released NOW
YES dude! 🤩
Sounds amazing as always Adam! Are those the steven slate headphones?
yes, VSX - how do you enjoy them Adam?
Yeah! They're wonderful headphones. Cool to check the mix on different models so effortlessly.
great vid. what do you set your sample rate to when you maix and again when recording. Thanks. So good to see someone else us s1
Great tips! Where do i find this QuadBass plugin? I'm VERY curious!
It’s not out yet, but stay tuned as it’s being finalized and released soon!
Sheesh how are you keeping everything so loud without smashing that clip, my midi for modern and massive comes out clipping when i start making drums
The midi is clipping?????
@@robjobse5162 yep, when i start writing drums, it instantly clips and i have to bring it down to be able to mix with it
@@Josephhof that's odd... do you have velocities maxed out? If that's not the issue, just turn your drum output fader down and you're good to go!
Have the same problem with the P5 kit. For some reason the software straight after download is clipping. Very annoying.
And when I say clipping it’s literally clipping on the meters inside the P5 plugin itself. Which is odd bc when I route it out to my pro tools tracks it’s definitely not clipping but it is pretty hot

Outputs 1/2 are hard stuck as the "reverb" from GGD. Start routing your kick to 3/4, so on. Essentially just treat 1/2 as the permeant reverb channel.

For this demo were you pitch shifting? Or actually tuned to drop F
Actually F!

You load both kits into the same instance of Kontakt and disable the pieces of each kit you won't be using.
Ummm. That quadbass plugin?!?!
