Who else is sad that this is the last model year for the NSX? Acura has confirmed a successor is in the works and we expect it to be all-electric! We do also plan to retest this car when we get it for a week sometime in early summer. Stay tuned for updated performance figures! Sadly, we were not able to drive this car on the road and our seat time was only on the track at this event.
Electric cars will never replicate the beautiful exhaust note of many super cars. It is sad so many brands feel the need to go electric rather than work on fuel efficiency.

I saw your review. Everyone seems to love this car. They need to do like Lexus and make a cheaper but still powerful and NSX inspired RCF competitor. But, R and D budget says otherwise.
I'm lucky enough to have a good friend with a 2018 NSX (modified to 640HP) and it's the most insane car ever! The instant acceleration is scary fast; and the handling is second to none.
What a beautiful car. I’ll never be able to buy anything like this, but it will be interesting to see how this car’s value compares to similarly priced exotics over the years. Personally, I’d rather have the NSX, which should be very reliable and much cheaper to maintain than most exotics.
It's a shame that Acura only sold 124 NSXs in 2021. I agree that this car will finally be appreciated by collectors and enthusiasts alike after it goes out of production. The saying goes... you don't miss the water until the well runs dry. I plan on purchasing a preowned 2nd gen NSX in a few years so I hope they don't go up to stupid Porsche like values. Excellent review and drive, Sofyan, I appreciate you!
WOW, This Supercar looked fantastic through. Also I'm totally love the paint job on this vehicle as well. Also this will be my dream car for sure. But fantastic review sofyan.
The new advertising for the Type S has a fun Japanese cartoon theme. A larger outdoor ad for the car was placed right near where one of our sons live in Chicago. My wife asked, what is up with the ad. I replied that they provided some upgrades to the car in its' final year and call it the Type S. I have a 2017 NSX. She said your car is already crazy fast, why would they make it faster.
A lot of people on here by their comments are missing the point of this car is to technology and the limited number of production which will make this car worth the price and I bet all the ones that they're making her already sold
Tracked a non Type S and I absolutely agree. Performance is absurd. Mainly the front end with the way torque vectoring is applied and the power delivery. I don’t think I’ll be able to top that driving experience for a long time. That said, the interior had dated worse than my previous gen Accord and somehow still felt less special than the Type R I’ve owned for almost 5 years now. I believe the one I drove is a recent facelift based on the chrome delete on the front and I think that plus the lack of options like nose lift or a HUD is probably what made sales suffer. At over 150K prospective buyers expect a lot more in amenities these days, and considering I’d just hopped out of a C8…Acura could have really done more to distance itself from 90-120k vehicles by offering a complete package and not just a really good power train and suspension showcase.
The NSX is still such an underrated supercar. I love how Honda didn't stray away from their "everyday supercar" formula that it established in 1989. Drive the car to work and then the track on the weekend.(far better than its Japanese rival, GT-R). The 2016 model was so well built that this car is still relevant and not really wanting for anything. Might even be the most reliable car of its type, with far easier service intervals(likely matching the C8 Vette in that regard). And surely, the interior is lacking, but looking at some of the competition, its not all that bad, again considering the price. The only other problem I see is that the Vette Z06 and Zora are on the horizon, one of which will likely cost less than this and will offer insane performance and a more modern cabin. Oh, Mugen will sell you an exhaust that will make this car really wake up. As it stands, the TLX Type-S is more aggressive in sound than this.
Nice review. I enjoyed it. Come down to Houston this Summer to compare the new Z06 to the Type S. I am getting 2nd month allocated Z06 (assumed by being #11 at a dealer who got 80+ C7 Z06s) and confirmed blue Type S should be arriving in June (wasn't early enough to snag a Gotham Grey). Anyway would love to see your take on them side by side. Will have to put 500 miles on Z06 first b4 the computer fully allows you to open up. Can't launch it till 500. However NSX comes ready to launch mile 1. No break in for that...another Acura advantage. They run the engines in factory b4 completing the car so you can launch day 1. It nice.
Thanks a lot for the nice review! 👍 I would like to ask you to wipe the cup holder area next time as it looks ugly to see those spills in such nice interior. Thx! ✌
This is a company that is leaving F1 on their most successful season since the 90's to reinvest into electrification. They're more concerned about building family-friendly cars. Disappointing indeed.
When this came out in 2017, I was still in college and it immediately replaced the Audi R8 as my dream car. I graduated in 2019 but didn't get a job until the beginning of 2021 because of the pandemic. Now that I'm making 6 figures and have the money to buy this, it's been discontinued. And I really don't want to buy it used. I really hope Acura brings this back.
I had a funny feeling that that was Napa I swear I’ve been there before where the car is sitting in the first shot, I work for Robert Mondavi At the Lodi winery not Oakville.
The problem was that when the NSX launched, prejudicial reviewers like StrertSpeed717 said "nobody wanted a hybrid" even though he never test drove it to see if it's as bad as he says. Acura took that criticism personally, thus no more Acura hybrids.

ThaKidd Mistic , Honda does many weird things but I can tell you that the “recession excuse” doesn’t make sense now that we are in 2022. Looking back, they started development on the EV hybrid turbo motor seen today. So development cost would still be high. They also scrapped their F1 temporarily while founding the Hondajet facilty in Greensboro. All that money went to the development of the aircraft while in the “recession”. Honda developed the first refined aircraft engine in many many years. Much more costly than a V10 engine they somehow already had and been testing.

My conclusion with this vehicle, great sports car. Awesome looks, styling, engine is pretty good. But the point in why, I wouldn't get it, is that the interior is just OK. The infotainment is from, like mid 2012-2018, swats are nice, but would like a modern upgrade to the tech. If you're going to track this car on the weekends, I say, go for it!
