Hi Jono. Love the videos. Keep em coming. I wonder whether you’ve ever considered doing a video about tattoos that have healed badly. Whether it’s allergic reactions, or sun damage. Maybe illustrate possible causes of rough heals by using example photos. I’m sure we’ve all experienced this. Thank you.
Hey Jono I’m an up and coming tattoo artist from NY and I love your videos… That being said I wanted to know if you can make a video about tattooing darker skin as far as color and just how to make those tattoos in particular pop, when I do lighter skin the tattoos come out exactly how I want but on darker skin even after I’ve added highlights and tried to bring out the tattoos I feel that my technique can use some improvement. I know not everyone is an expert on darker skin but your delivery of information is something I’ve grown to appreciate.
These videos are great! I'd love to see what you have to say on how to achieve shaded/blended color tones, since you have a video on packing color and shading with grey, and I'm curious as to how to mix the two methods to get a more dynamic color tattoo.
I was wondering if you could explain what happens to linework done in coloured ink. As in what a single line would look like by itself, not put next to any shading. The reason I'm wondering is because I'm trying to achieve something that looks similar to scarification, without actually needing to scar the skin. So I was thinking about either using a dark or light brown on my dark brown skin to create an effect that sort of blends in with the natural variations in my skin tone making it almost hidden in plain sight. I saw a comment from a tattoo artist though saying that they've only come across inks formulated for lining that are black. But I'm not sure how they're formulated differently and how that difference would affect the quality of the lines or if the difference would only show up over time.
Lining with colour can be done though warmer colours (red, orange, yellow) can look weak over time when they heal. Lots of tattooists like to only use black to line with because it’s a fail/safe method for the ink to hold strong but again, it can absolutely be done with colour.
@@JonoSmithTattoo thanks for the reply. Are there any technique considerations that would prevent it from looking patchy for longer? I understand that the fading will happen eventually either way and I'm fine with it not lasting forever.
@@amentrison2794 I’d probably go on the darker side of whatever colour you’re using. So if you’re using red, I’d use a dark red and so on but apart from that, just give it a try. As long as when you wipe off it looks solid then that’s probably all you can ask for.
please help me Hello, Sir I'm trying very hard to get one pass line it's getting patchy and ink is not going into the skin the needle just cutting the skin when I wipe it there is no line I mean no ink in skin it only red i tried all of your tutorials which you explained very well about these problems but it's not working on me l'm very confused can you make a video on this please A I'm facing this problem like almost more than 6-7months🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I’ll cover this in a video soon for you.
If you cant put a line in solid and clean in 6-7 month then you shouldnt be tattooing, you are probably scarring and hurting people
