- In this video we show you how we made our horizontal fence panels / privacy screen. The fence panels are made from western red cedar battens, mounted to 4x4 posts.

Did the same thing for our kids at their home. I added a vertical trim piece at the seem to dress it up a little. Nice work sir!
i love them raised planters too! looks so awesome and a cozy place to sit in the summer
Looks absolutely awesome - thanks for sharing, and for including the materials you used 👍🏻
Well done. That’s a really smart job with lots of attention paid to important details
Attention to detail on point! Beautiful 🤩
excellent video dude, panels looked fantastic when they were finished 10/10.

Great video. A very neat job.
Love your decking wall surround too.
Great job and great workmanship 👏🏻👏🏻
Looks SO GOOD!!!
Smashing job with nice attention to detail. And worth paying extra for red cedar - much nicer than pine that most folks use!
Red Cedar is 2x the price of pine, so it does mount up, especially with the cost of timber these days.
Looking to do a 2m gap at 1.8m with this, and pine is £160, Red Cedar nearly £400 😢
We are impressed. It's beautiful. Fw...and the job is done. Amazing!
Dude that was rad. Cheers my brother👍
Incredible job 👏🏻
I love the wardrobe change before moving onto the next stage of the build 😀 great, informative vid.
I saw that too..lol ..probably the next day
great video but the main reason i loved your video so much, was to see how your little girls were so involved in the whole process!

Hi great video, thank you. Do you have a video on how you did the raise beds and tiles as well?
☀Absolutely beautiful! ☀
Looks good-a. Thanks-a.
Due your tan's impressive lol of the work looks good too mate!!
Dig your collection of T-shirts !
Nice job..I can recommend Osmo 728 oil stain for cedar wood fencing..just completed my fences ...looks good
Genius
like this!
Congratulations, the result is really nice! Are the intermediate battens behind the red cedar slats fixed to the planter or to the concrete posts?
Amazing job, the screens look incredible. From the given materials above, the screw size that you use was 18.3mm while your battens thickness is 19mm, would that have enough bite?
Gidday mate from Australia, very nice job. Suggest you look to getting a driver and use hex or square driver bits and screws/ far more suited to lots of screwing. Also if you ever felt inclined to slant the battens then you get full privacy. Gotta go catch me kangaroo mate!
Just looking at SILVA timber on the back of this awesome video - with the battens did you opt for square or radial edges?
Looks great where did you get the wooden tops for your wall? 👌
Look good but I thought I would go the length of the yard. And would it have been a easier with a roller to apply the stain or would that cause any uneven looks
You sound Italian
So your neighbours will have to look at the back of your new fence above the existing one. I bet they're well impressed!
It's not their yard
@@rollandjoeseph ye that makes sence , its the view they get from theirs though not thought out.
the back of the cedar fence is far nicer than the existing green fence - so they should be impressed
Top tip..........................when using a drop saw to achieve a nice smooth cut use a saw blade with as many teeth on it you can.
Looks amazing. Where did you order the cedar wood from ?
I would prefer a vertical batten to cover the seam where the two panels meet. The brass screw heads are not unattractive, but the natural color variation where the battens butt together is distracting. For the sake of symmetry you could add a vertical batten to either end. It the battens were staggered to echo the stone wall below, the effect would be less jarring, but that would have been an unreasonable amount of cutting and fitting.
Love the videos , wouldn’t stand being your neighbour. 😂
Great panals can I ask where did the lights come from please
looks really good. I never know why people have such low fences to start with
Cracking job mate. Did you order a pack of battery of work out the length you needed?
Looks great..could you give me an idea or the cost of the slats...many thanks.. also where you perched them ...cheers..
Wow wow gorgeous ……you fancy doing my garden 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hey great video. How did you secure your wooden fence posts? I have same kinda set up where fence is already there with concrete posts. I was guessing that you fixed the new wooden posts to the existing concrete ones?
Great video where did you source your cedar timber from? It's seams hard to come by thanks
Hi there was the small fence behind your fence or your neighbours fence. My fence belongs to my neighbour so wondered if I could still do this
Nice! How did you make the deck you are waling on? :)
Where did you Batons mate and did you have the trim them to the thickness you wanted?
Can the green coloured fence panels be moved for treating?
hi, thanks for sharing brilliant work! could you please share the link/source for purchasing the batons? KR
look very nice, what is the size of horizontal lumber.. thanks
what is between the planter and the fence to stop the soil bowing the fence or decaying it ? :) thanks
Really like this. Would it be possible to screw the lengths from the back to there are no screws visible on the face side?
Yes, on our extra support battens we screwed from the back, however on the 4x4 posts we didn't have screws the perfect length to go through the 4x4 and not out the other side of the battens on the front
Looks lovely 💕but confusing 🤔🤔
THX for all the links too +1
Looks nice yes. You should always use stainless steel nails or screws for fixing cedar as all others Will stain the cedar over time when they react with the water and salt. The flat head screws must have been a nightmare!
Yikes, I thought I saw flat head screws😳
Awesome job mate it looks decent. What 4x4 posts did you use?
Thanks :) We just used pressure treated posts
What grate batons did you use? Or did you sand them yourself?
Great t-shirt - VWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fab fence, but it was terrifying watching this video with a toddler running around whilst you had a chop saw and other tools on the ground. Gulp!
Me Too !!??!!
Where did your order the Baton? What size are they 😍 looks epic
