  • This is my review and proper installation video of the Maxsa Innovations laser park assist system. Some reviews are inaccurate in my opinion and I just wanted to give more detailed info on the installation. My system works perfectly. Highly recommended. Remember to install the laser assembly so that the light beam hits the windshield of your vehicle at about 90 degrees.

    Thanks for your video. I saw a product like this on sale and wondered what it did. One advantage besides not having something dangling in the garage is it helps align left and right, not just how far forward the car is in the garage.

      You are absolutely right, I also align right/left with my Ford Edge. Very easy with the storage compartment in the dash. Thank you for visiting my channel.

    Great product, i installed one in my garage works great, i will point out one thing i did notice and that was the motion detector on the laser works a lot better when mounted on the ceiling. versus the wall

    • @SuperdanTech
      @SuperdanTech  5 лет назад

      Yes this is possible. The motion detector would most likely work better on the ceiling. Thanks for your comment. I have been using mine for a year now and it works flawlessly every time and we have two vehicles. I really don't know why more people do not have this!

    Great review Daniel. You covered every aspect of the system as well as the negative issues mentioned by some. I would hate to miss out on a good product because of negative reviews by those who do not install or use the product correctly. Giving exact information (the cord is 9-feet long) is better than "the cord is too short". I will be buying this item soon.

      Thank you Mike for the kind words. We are still using our laser park assist after a few years now and it works like a charm. I never had to adjust it after installation (and this video)! Thank you for visiting my channel.

      @@SuperdanTech I decided to go low-tech instead. I put a 48-inch long, 1-inch diameter PVC pipe into a short 2 x 10 board that sits on the garage floor.
      I placed the pipe 2-feet from the wall. When the front of the car touches the pipe I stop the car. It cost nothing since I had the material on hand.

    thanks for taking the time to go over the gadget, I have two tennis balls hanging for the rafters for two different cars and this looks like a much better solution

    • @SuperdanTech
      @SuperdanTech  5 лет назад

      You are welcome. When I bought this I was not really sure it would work like I wanted to. I now love it! The good thing about this system also is that when your garage is empty for you to do some work, you don't bump into that stupid tennis ball all the time...lol. Thanks for watching!

    • @CurmudgeonExtraordinaire
      @CurmudgeonExtraordinaire 4 года назад

      @@SuperdanTech -- A tennis ball is not a problem if you know how to quickly tie a sheepshank knot to take up the slack when necessary. Or you could tie a small binder clip into the line and use it to take up the slack. Of course, it might depend upon how tall you are... If you're a 7-ft tall basketball player, that ball is going to have to be raised a bit more. :)

    • @CurmudgeonExtraordinaire
      @CurmudgeonExtraordinaire 4 года назад

      If you have a vehicle with an adjustable ride height (e.g. Porsche Cayenne) and it just barely fits into your garage, you would need to ensure that you have the ride height set the same to get the same vehicle position whether you are using a tennis ball or using the laser like he has his installed. Now, if the laser was positioned so that it was *directly* above the vehicle such that the angle of the beam was perfectly perpendicular to the ground, then the ride height of the vehicle would not matter. Tennis balls don't work that well with some vehicles if you sometimes park facing into the garage and sometimes park facing out. For my Jeep, the solution that I've found that works the best is a 12"x12"x6" concrete pad with a 2 ft piece of 1/2" square tubing embedded into it and a 4 ft piece of 3/4" sched-40 PVC pipe slipped over that and a bright orange pool float "noodle" slipped over the PVC pipe for visibility and cushioning. It sits up high enough that when I hit it, I can see it move whether I am pulling into the garage nose first or backing into the garage. My Harley is parked crossways in my garage behind my Jeep, so the space is a bit tight.

    Not a deal breaker, but it would have made more sense to have the power cable to be white, in order to better blend in with the paint rather than it being black. Good review overall!

    Good information, thank you for your time & effort! There are plenty of wacky reviews, no-doubt, on Amazon with miss-information & nonsense. Just installed mine yesterday, wife no longer drives into the kitchen...lol 😛 It was a quick & easy install! 😎

    I use a small Brick!!, .....Once I line my car up in the perfect spot I want it in, ....I put a small brick in under the front tyres (either both tyres or just one) so I know when im driving the car into the garage once my wheels feels that ...you know to stop!...(Has the perfect distance front & back).... . (Drive in slow ...you could do it fast youll still feel the brick hit on your front wheels)...... I use a line on the garage floor to line my car up so i know how far to the side i need to be in order to fit the other 2 cars in also. .......much easier than installing anything.... just a brick and lines easy!

    • @SuperdanTech
      @SuperdanTech  2 года назад

      It works but when you have kids playing in the garage, you have those bricks in the way. When you clean your garage floor...the bricks are in the way...again...lol. This laser system is by far the best solution ever!

    Even if this device works it will not stand the test of time and it will break. Just hang a string with a weight on it like a bolt and cover it with tape. It will last a lifetime, this thing won't.

    • @SuperdanTech
      @SuperdanTech  3 года назад +3

      This device still works perfectly as of today Jan 11, 2021, years after I posted this video. Also, the well known trick of hanging an object like a tennis ball is very annoying when you have your two cars parked outside and you have work to do in the garage...You hit your torso and head non stop...LOL...definitely not the best solution. This laser is perfect.

    Why a battery backup when the garage door will not open when there’s a lost of power

    • @SuperdanTech
      @SuperdanTech  Год назад +1

      Good question...because the garage door might already be open and you want to move your car in. Or you open the door manually and still need the laser to guide you. This is a very old video and our two lasers are still working perfectly! Thank you for visiting my channel.
