Today is the one year anniversary of Shin Eva's international premiere, so I thought I should finish this cover for the occasion :)
I decided not to brand this video as a SynthV cover like normal bcs this is really more of an "Eva cover" than anything. But if you're here, don't know what I'm talking about, and you're curious: SOLARIA is an AI singing voice for the SynthesizerV program (like Vocaloid), which is why she might sound synthetic.

Gotta love this version. This song means a lot to me because I've been an Evangelion fan since I was a teenager and 3.0+1.0 actually helped me through a bad moment in life. Sometimes, one just have to be live Shinji, daring to go further in life even if nothing is certain.

I first heard this song as part of the soundtrack for Bye-Bye Jupiter (1984). Nice to hear it FINALLY get an English cover after all of these decades.
Now we need Anno to come out of retirement so he can make a film where Shinji Ikari pilots a newly built Unit 01 in order to sacrifice Jupiter in order to save the Solar System from a black hole. ;)
@@David315842 There's an interesting connection between Evangelion and Bye Bye Jupiter (1984) as well. Bye Bye Jupiter was directed by Koji Hashimoto, who also directed The Return of Godzilla (1984) that same year. And the Assistant Special Effects Director for The Return of Godzilla, serving under Teruyoshi Nakano, was Shinji Higuchi, long-time partner of Hideaki Anno for Evangelion.

I honestly enjoy this much more than the original, not just because i can understand what it's saying but also because the voice feels more mature/motherhood like, fitting with shinji's growth, it feels like it's singed by yui for shinji

I don't know if I still have the mixing project file but I could upload the acapella on its own, if it helps? This bothered me too, you can tell I don't understand harmonies very well 😭
That's shame, I don't know how to synchronize things in DAWs. Not that it matters, it's not a big deal, since they're quieter than the main voice, it sounds more like a texture. I'm a musician with some weird tastes, once I was writing the setting for a Mass and used parallel major chords.
I just think it makes it a little, just a little, easier to detect it's not a human singing

I'm adapting this to Portuguese, but not to be recorded, I'm going to sing with a few people from the Music department or the local University in the Oncology Department of the university hospital. Of course I'm tweaking the lyrics a bit to become happier than the original, but I'm trying to capture the same essence... But I won't be only the lyricist. That would be boring, I'll make the arrangement, and those parallel fifths are inspiring me to do something a bit dreamy sounding
