ST-I is one of the most underrated heavies, tier for tier, in the game. Nice side scraper, nice gun, solid frontal armor and a good turret

It's pretty much the same thing with the IS-2 and IS-3 too, they also use Arabic so yeah, it's pretty weird.
I think we all accept its the roamn numeral I = 1 etc but we just pronounce it st i because it sounds more pleasant and quicker to say in a firefight, with the St II 2 I don't say aye aye I just switch to Arabic and say St 2 or shoot the double or St aha
probably a design bureau thing, maybe the head of the bureau is a fan of roman numerals? who knows?
1:17 - good avoidance from calling it an ST-I, as in STI, as in Sexually Transmitted Infection. We are family friendly, after all.
Careful of the STI at sector D3, it can penetrate you with ease.

I think he is being careful since he once featured a BC25t replay (on the train station map) and people pointed out that the player cheated. But I do want to see another funny replay like the Marder's adventure on Himmelsdorf.
Oh the st1. My first tier 9, my most played tank. Second highest ever damage ive ever had in a tank. I enjoyed this tank but got fed up of the op tanks wg kept adding.

Thank you for highlighting that trick at 8:17. I often fake attention when I am in close quarter battles using a large-caliber gun, and it is very effective. Also QB I liked how you paused the replay for a bit and explained the situation and your thinking instead of trying to rapid-fire it all out as it is happening.

QB, the reason people call it an ST I and not an ST 1 is the font used in WoT. Look at the battle you're in. Plenty of tanks have a 1(T110E4, T-54 mod. 1, Strv S1) and some have the I(IS-3A, IS-3)

Thank you quickybaby for your videos, I know there just videos but right now we all need a distraction from whats going on especially with the violent riots going on in the US.
I'm an old F2P player, so with all the events that have been going around, I've managed to get a heap of garage slots. So I've only just started grinding a heap of new tanks, and am currently at the Tier VII Soviet Heavy, the KV-3. And in my final game before I unlocked the KV-4, I had a 5,200 dmg/2,100 blocked/1000 assist game on Province of all maps. I see I can expect things to get even better.

Cockyness will get you killed, but the Turtle's gold ammo has sub 250 pen, so I wouldn't have been too worried about
I just want to point out that a bottom tier Indien panzer get 3800 dmg with 1300+ exp. And if you notice how he bravely leads the assault towards IS3 + 110E3 at 4:30 you know he definitely deserves it.

Before the conq got the turret buff and newer heavies like the emil2 and 50tp were added, this tank was the king of hull down heavies at tier9.

I genuinely think that the st1 is better tier to tier than the is4, it carries more ammo, has a better turret, more gun depression and almost identical hull armour

I think wargaming should provide players with an extra equipment slot now that we have a ton of new ones
Somewhat similar to WOWs, since tier 9 and 10 Have 6 slots for equipment, tier 8 has 5, 7 has 4 I think
I used to think that it was ST-I as in Subaru STI but its also not ST-1 as in the common numerical character, its Roman Numeral.

When I still played I used to love my ST-1. It's a bit of a beast in the right situations.
i recently played ST-I and i had 8020 damage blocked.....that is a monster amount
The ST-1 tank is an amazing tank well worth the pain of going through the earlier tanks!
The Rebel i belatedly went through Russian heavy line and just as I got ok in KV 3 I unlocked KV 4. Massive beast but I struggled with the current wheelie, fast hard hitting mediums and of course arty. I so wanted the tier nine but would take me ages to do.
yeah kv3 is great but kv4 is just awful, good at sidescraping but the gun is just soooo bad

I finally unlocked the IS-4 and sold my ST-I to afford it, I cried myself to sleep that night.
I got 60% win rate on this tank and this line is my main heavy but the IS-4 sucks at tier X. I hope the buff will come sooner.

Last time I was this early QB was firing only HE in his IS-4.

In the NA servers everyone is so sweaty that they camp the ridge line, and I get placed with players who use their butts as armor, while the enemy somehow only shoots the cupola of this tank and I die instantly. (And I’m also usually at a fair range as well)
Being at range might be your issue. You won't have the reliability in accuracy some of the other tanks out there have. Sure you will have armour, but you can't hit the enemy every time they poke etc, so they aren't pressured and feel confident in taking time to aim for your obvious weak spot. Try taking the fight closer to the enemy and keeping up the pressure. On most players that will make their accuracy drop like a rock, and on the players it doesn't affect you would have been shut down anyway.

Ok....a little less dramatic at the end vs the Turtle would be good. A Turtle firing gold only has 253 pen. QB firing gold back at him will pen him ANYWHERE in the front.

but quickybaby, we really have to let wargaming know equipments 2.0 is not alright, at least the binocular one, that only TDs can use it, makes no sense, would screw up most players

Well, disregarding the utter retardation that is the spotting mechanics of this game, I think its an improvement to not let any other class except tds use binoculars

I think this is the first WOT video I have watched since I quit the game 2 yrs ago and started playing PUBG. Sometimes I think about re-uploading the game but the all I remember about the game is how pretty much every match i have to try to carry a team that is at least 90% potatoes and the rest window licking arty players! I had played the game for a solid 3 yrs and was a unicum player. I'm not one of those players that suck at the game and blame gold ammo or some OP tanks in the game lol.
I might start playing again if Wargaming ever decides to remove arty and wheeled vehicles! I'm really happy I stopped playing before they added wheeled vehicles because adding them into game was as dumb as adding arty!
Arty is super cacerous,but wheeles are ok,i dont have any problem with them and im playing majority of lights,crit 0 you hit the wheel and the ground not the wheel and the hull,to fast aim well you will hit them,if crit 0 blame RNG witch is the main problem,only the tier 10 and permium 8 are good and only with tryhard setup the rest are bad(Tier 8 and 9),or completly unplayable tier(6 and 7),they are super hated since they requiere a lot of skill to play with and some to play against,the only reason why some are so good is the total lack of skill of the majority of player base.
@@emperorofmankindog Wheelies are the devil compared to arty, they will truly unbalance the game to death. And they completely killed the feel that WoT had as a slower paced more strategic game. Now its an arcade shitshow that may as well be called "rocket league : tank edition". Also @MississippiRebel I think it's interesting that you found "having to carry" in WoT to be such a pain when you moved to a game in which LITERALLY all the effort is on you to place 1st? Really might show how frustrating WoT has become that PUBG is less stressful lol. I don't at all disagree though, the game is heavy with meta tanks that are just far above the others in terms of usefulness and the playerbase may as well be bots half the time. XD
I am currently grinding through this tank and i think it is very good, as you showed very nicely here QB. I think it might be worth considering for WG to make this tank the tier 10 in this line and make the is-4 tier 9 again. My reason for this is that the ST-1 has more gun depression and is otherwise fairly similar to the is-4, the reward for reaching tier 10 would then be more gun depression along with some better gun handling or something similar. So, if they eventually are going to buff the line, I hope WG would consider these changes along with the appropriate changes that come with switching the vehicle tiers. Yeah that gold ammo completely negates the fun, skill and intensity of the last engagement against the Turtle. Both tanks can penatrate each others front if the angle is alright basicly. This makes those heavy armored tanks (ST-1, E100, Maus-branch, T95 etc. so every tank that trades in realy bad for its good armor) completely obsolete. This is an issue that needs to addressed QB! There are also many ways to solve it: Make the economy on this shells worse. Trade the rediculous penetration for worse acuracy on these shells. But WG should better not make it gold exclusive again as this would bring us right back to good ol pay to win. I also dont see an issue on completely removing these "anti-skill-shells" but as there are some beefy armor buffs on said tanks already on the way, that might be late call.
And QB another idea: we should put some imagination into a revisited spotting system. The current one is incredibly inconcistent, unrelieable, unpredictable and a great deal breaker for new players. I have 12K games on my account (played 8 years) and still cant figure out how it works as it completely goes balistic the moment you ad a 2nd bush to the equasion
Blocked over 11k dmg with t28 prot. 2 years ago. Everyone kept spamming my front and damage blocked just racked up :).
What do we feel the last frontline chapter ? Personally , i had thefeeling that 90% of tank i've encountered was prenium tank .

I always loved how this tank looked, I think it's one of the best looking tank in the game. :) Although it was maybe a bit better when it was in SD. It was my first Tier 9 in 2012 and enjoyed playing every moment of it. I even bought it back a year later, because I never really got to like my IS-4. And even though the ST-1 wasn't really my playstyle, I still managed to make it work most of the time. :)
Even though I appreciate QB´s critical statements about the condition of this game with regards to balance and pay to win , but nevertheless the last engagement against the turtle clearly showed that in this case the player payed more credits, what like QB often mentioned- he/she canˋt afford to do if not having a Prem. account or playing prem. tanks, in order to kill the Turtle safely and ensure victory. Otherwise the Turtle could have stayed a chance or at least prevented a defeat.

It's my main complaint with most "community contributors" displaying "elite" players, is all solo play. No one focuses on working on a team, it's all about "how can you carry the game yourself" with 14 other distraction players on your team.
Its reminds me a tier VIII rusian TD T-103 it has more armor in side hull than in the front. :-)
