    00:00:00 Intro
    00:18:15 Lord Audie asks CoreJJ about TL's growth since 2023
    00:30:40 wombatbaby's take: FLY and TL makes sense because they're the only teams that have Challengers rosters
    00:45:27 tbone's take: while Thanatos is a good pickup for C9, it won't solve their problems
    00:55:47 skizzle's take: DIG firing Enatron was just a cover for poor roster construction
    01:16:17 boggs's take: the Inspired interview was super overblown
    01:31:05 Glaurung's idea: if a team wins a split, they get to choose the city for a road show
    01:39:30 Outro

    Core rightly identifies the symbiotic nature of having the academy team and the main team both be really good. We as a region are pretty fortunate to have someone who genuinely enjoys uplifting other pros in a region that cares so little about anything but the top.

      I mean, it's a direct measurement of investment. We don't have a lot of sample size to suggest that the academy team itself matters.

    Hey Travis, I work at software developement, and let me know that, hearing your podcasts, specially HLL, is relaxing and you talk about some of my favorites subjects, obviously LoL, but also MTG. I really appreciate this, I wonder sometimes what I could be listening if there was no HLL but can't name many things, really happy to have this weekly as part of my life. Also couldn't thank you 2 years ago when you gifted me a twitch sub to Markz channel ^_^!

    About the Inspired interview. Personally, I love a pro being candid about what went wrong in a game which can include a teammate not performing well. And I'm sure Jensen can handle that criticism and even agree when he played poorly.
    But what I'm sad didn't get discussed in the call was the part where Inspired says that Jensen learned wrong playing on all his other teams and that he and Bwipo need to tell Jensen what to do. Jensen is the #2 all time mid laner in the LCS and Inspired basically said he doesn't understand the game correctly and teams that he's been on (including championship teams) didn't understand the game correctly. Its one thing to say a teammate played poorly but it felt like Inspired was saying Jensen just isn't a good player overall, which wouldn't sit well with me if I were Jensen.

    If I’m riot I would try to partner with the college scene to get a road show on the cheap. It would shine a light on the college scene while also giving the lcs a place to to play during weeks where valorant have the arena. They could easily add a couple college matches before or after the lcs matches.

    Most of that team (flyquest) talked a lot of crap, they got their asses kicked, then you have players like inspired throwing his team under the bus then disguising it by "taking responsibility" is crap. I agree with CoreJJ 100%, that's super unprofessional, and if you want people to take you seriously, that has to stop. The LCS needs more professionalism in general, IMO. If you're going to take responsibility, focus on your own mistakes, not someone else's.
    I also wanted to say I'm fairly new to the LCS culture, and LoL esports in general, and that interview really rubbed me the wrong way. If the LCS wants more viewership, that kind of stuff needs to be cleaned up. People don't get away with that kind of stuff in virtually any other professional sport. They just would find themselves unemployed as you never know what teammate they're going to throw under the bus in the future. You can't complain about lack of sponsorships then be ok with that kind of stuff happening.
    Also, congrats to TL! It was awesome to watch you guys this split, very inspiring to watch you guys come together and play the way you played.

    Inspired caller is a clown. That doesn't make Jensen improve, you know what makes him improve? Keeping it backdoor where Jensen can review the games with him, and push back where he thinks Inspired is wrong. Dont just assume everything Inspired said is the grail of truth and excellence. And the constant glazing of Jojo in that same interview was really a bad look. Being right after final isn't an excuse.

    You shouldn't _hard flame_ teammates but it's fine to talk about the mistakes they made in the game. Inspired basically talked about how Bwipo was greedy and got punished and how Jensen was baited into ulting (both outplayed by the goat top laner Impact) and a few other mistakes he and his team made. It was perfectly fine. Maybe it crosses the line for some people but we need to give leeway to players sharing their thoughts otherwise they'll just clam up and say nothing.

    @willman110 Месяц назад +8

    The issue is Bwipo was the worst player on the day, and he escaped all criticism. he obviously was super biased. its one thing to be critical of a the team as a whole, but he went in on one player who was not even given any agency with his picks (Annie/Karma). And also he didnt take responsibility. He said, i could do better BUT.... not hard to read between the lines. Saying jensen has never had aggressive teammates? Dude has played with some of the best players in NA history. Just overall a bad and jaded take.

  • @0hhoneyy
    @0hhoneyy Месяц назад

    Core was so great. Hope to see him in more content.
    I do have to say on the Inspired part that both him and Bwipo have been so disrespectful to their own team. If I was Jensen, one of the greatest players in NA all time, i'd be pretty livid being shat on in public by my teammate; regardless of if they're correct. Especially when he wasn't even the biggest problem in the final.

    Can we talk about how embarrassing it is that Travis can’t get a sponsor for HLL, continues to blame the environment and sponsor money being down but if you watch ANY other LOL podcast they have all sponsors every episode, yes not the same one each time but still some sponsor revenue none the less. I have been a hotline league supporter for half a decade and I want the best for this show but at this point this is straight up embarrassing, grovelling for money from viewers instead of getting of his ass and finding sponsors.
