  • In todays trout fishing video I'm going to go over exactly how to use the double dropshot to catch trout. I will show you everything you need to know to get out there and start hooking up some of those monster trout. I will tell you when and where to use the technique, what rods, reels, and line you will need, show you exactly how to tie the dropshot rig, and then exactly how best to fish it.

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors

      I just put one rig in each bag. I also use ziplock freezer sandwich bags, they are a bit more rigid and it helps keep the rig from tangling.

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors

      Sure it will get the job done. If you get to where you really like the technique you can invest in an ultra light rod more suited for dropshot but you will be able to make it work with the med action rod in the meantime

      Interesting. Ive never heard that but it may have to do with the amount of hooks on a dropshot rig in moving water. I could see a rig with two or more hooks may be illegal in certain waters but a single im pretty sure is legal in most rivers and streams

    • @SeaSpankerOutdoors
      @SeaSpankerOutdoors  Год назад

      Honestly its kind of random haha. You never can really tell what they are gonna want day to day whatever the water clarity. The baseline rule I follow is more natural looking colors in clear water and neutral colors in dark/stained water, whites and blacks and dark greens. There is also something to be said about matching the color of the water. When the water is green or brown matching your bait to the water color works now and then 🤘

    • @temijinkahn511
      @temijinkahn511 10 месяцев назад +1

      @ryanm4834 I use it to prevent knots from slipping which happened the most when the line gets cold.
      Most breaks happen where the knot line is wrapped around the hook eye. The Palomar knot works well because two lengths of line wrap the eyelet. With other knots such as uni or cinch, I always put the line through the eyelet twice then tie the knot. You are now spreading the stress at the hook eyelet over two lengths of line instead of one.
