    I use a T knot for my drop shot, it bait away from the line and gives it a lot of action when I wiggle the tip of my rod. Since I've switched to this method my bites and hookups have increased like 10 fold, I used to get a lot of bites but the hookup was lacking.

      @@TroutMadeAnglerCo I feel like when my drop shot was right on the line it would keep the fish from taking the hook fully, I feel like when they hit it hard they push the hook away with their face, but with the T knot you've got the hook off of your line. Hey Skipper and Fata Morgana I think it's his name has some great tutorials for that knot.

    Hi was just wondering why you cut down the tag end , I mean why set a depth before you know where the fish are in the water column . I sometimes leave myself a foot of adjustment below my weight, does not bother the fish and sometimes makes all the difference when fishing at distance

  • @empiricalfishing1187
    @empiricalfishing1187 3 года назад +1

    I’m confused on why you used a Phenix elixir there would be very mediocre sensitivity due to the fact it’s a parabolic action I would use something with a solid tip like an ajing rod never anything the slightest bit whippy or I would use an ultralight bass rod because this is one of the techniques that are specific to ultralight bass rods.

    • @TroutMadeAnglerCo
      @TroutMadeAnglerCo  3 года назад

      You make great points. The fast action elixir is not whippy. It has a stiff tip, and you may lose sensitivity but you get the back bone, and your weight is 1/16 or 1/8 and your hooks and plastics lots of gear, so a heavier rod is needed. To each their own, nothing to be confused about - this is my preference and what feels and works for me. Keep getting MADE!
