Fishing before the rain can be really hit or miss. Usually a miss as far as Im concerned. Usually when the air pressure changes due to an incoming storm the fish tend to stop biting but when the rain begins lots of times they start feeding. There are always exceptions to the rule but thats been my experience
I got to give thee ol mudhole a try again(damn sounds so wrong 🤣, #nohomo), it's been about 10+ years since I've been there. My best trout fishing day was last year during light showers at DVL! Usually I'd stay in but I have so little time to fish and already had it planned I decided just to go and it was awesome! So I can 2nd that it can be a fun day of fishing in the rain! 🌧️ Keep the awesome content rolling!
Great video brother. Always good to see what they are bitting on thanks for sharing. Do you have a video on your favorite jigs and or drop shot set up? I'm interested in some GSF jigs just need a bit more guidance. Thanks
At the end of my how to fish mini jig video I go over some of my top producing GSF jigs and minnows. That said, you can never tell what color the trout are gonna want any given day so I try to have every color/style GSF makes. I totally understand most aren’t going to do that and I may have a problem haha so what I suggest is get a few white or light colored, a few dark or black colored, and a few of the natural looking colors and youll be covered it that makes sense 🤘
@SeaSpanker Outdoors well I'm that way also. I would rather have a good selection of lures. Thanks for the info. Thanks for the discount code also. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Nice seeing you before SARL closed today , and thanks for the information as always. I'll let you know if we have luck in the mountains... Tight lines!!!
Great job at your favorite mudhole Rob! I was at Lake Arrowhead with my buddy fishing off a private dock in North Bay. My high school friend invited me and my buddy to fish this past Saturday. The lightening and rainbows were nice size around 2-3 lbs. The Powerbait on Carolina rig was working with 3-4 foot leader and the slip bobber at 6 foot leader was working also. Tight lines Rob!👍
I can’t speak for anyone else because I honestly don’t know. As far as my casting style it doesn’t help. Im self taught and at a young age. My casting style is completely incorrect but ive been doing it for so long its hard for me to switch to the proper technique. Ive tried but I just can’t do it the proper way haha
Good job guys! It looks like a lot of fun. On my to get list are waders for shore fishing like this. I have many SARL $2.00 off entrance fee tickets if you want them? If you want them I'll message you. I'll fish SARL occasionally but kind of tough to get my friends to go! We did quite well our last 2 outings prior to Covid 19. You said Purdy! Yep! That is my 49ers team alright! Lol.
It really just depends on how the fish feel. I have had lots of great days there fishin midweek. They put so many fish in each week that the weekend crowds can’t possibly fish it out. But it can be a tough lake to fish wether your there on a Friday or a Tuesday. I prefer fishing there midweek as there are very few people there and you can move around to find the trout 🤘
The mini jigs themselves are just plastic/rubber tubes. You need to get 1/16 and 1/32oz tube jig heads to put inside the jig. With the minnows you use 1/16 and 1/32 ballhead jigs. Here are a couple links to show what they are. a.co/d/4o6Y2zR a.co/d/9MlH6Lh
MAAAAN....the catches were BIG! 🤯 Love the vid as always and gotta ask....over there at the Mudhole did you notice any time of the day that the bites were more active? I'm hoping to get over there this next week and would TOTALLY appreciate any tips on the timing AND location if you have any. Thanks for makin this and always...Peace ✌😎 (on a second thought, which forgive me, should be the 1st...Merry Christmas to you and yours my friend 👊🎅)
Typically the afternoon bite is best for me at the mudhole. This video is one of those rare occasions when they were biting all day (at least on that Friday they were). Most of my mudhole videos where im catching its between 12-4 pm. If you message me on Instagram I can send you a picture where I highlighted my favorite spots to fish 🤘
Juan decided to come off the team on his own for reasons unknown to me. I haven’t had a chance to ask him why but he still fishes with all of us now and then and everyone is on good terms as far as I know 🤘
@@baker2677 i usually get in line about 4-5pm on Thursday but its extremely rare to get the spot we did. I was planning on fishing the pond but for some reason that spot was open so I took it. The only other times i fish there is during midweek when there is far less people
Thank for the always showing what color and hooks you use. Really interesting about fishing before the rain.

Sounds fun. I hear Arrowhead has some great fishing
@Seaspanker question I notice you guys turn your reels sideways when casting? Does it help with the line and casting distance

Caught my first rainbow trout in awhile last week in Lake Huntington.
Good little fighter, was about 13" but skinny.
Very nice!
Good stuff as always Rob!
👊🎣🤙
Hi Rob. I was there on Thanksgiving day and I did pretty good too... great video as always. 😊
Right on Jerry 🤘
Good job men nice fishing 🎣
You always have nice catches
Thanks John, imma a tryin to get em 🤘

Is the fishing midweek like (Monday or Tuesday) not as good because of the weekend crowd and the stock occurring before the weekend?

@@SeaSpankerOutdoors how do you think the crowds will be Monday after Christmas?
@@seanshibasaki7783 id say a bit more crowded than a typical Monday but way less than a typical Friday or weekend day
@@SeaSpankerOutdoors I appreciate the info. Thank you
Where can I get a fishing rod travel case like that
Here is the link. They make completely custom stuff for any sizes. mtncork.com/
Thanks man appreciate it
When using mini jigs do they weight 1/16 or do you have to add a BH 1/16?

I skunked at SARL last Sunday. Didnt see any lighting trout either =( bummer.
Lost a double digit one this past Saturday would’ve been my first ever lighting
Skunked Sunday at hesperia lake threw dropshot ,worms, powerbait ,micetails they didn't want it . Maybe a bobber and nightcrawler would of worked
Bite has been tough there lately. I skunked there on Monday 🤷🏼♂️
@@SeaSpankerOutdoors Monday was tough! I saw you at Chris’ pond as I was leaving
Can you make a video on sight fishing? I tried to sight fish a trout in Arkansas and it ran away from my jig I think I spooked the hell out of it
Yeah Ive been meaning to do one 🤘
Was this Friday after the stock?
Yes, Friday and Saturday
Thanks boss!! What time do you usually like to go Friday? To beat the line haha
