Thank you very uch for this. Lidl should pay you! I have never sharpened a chain before (I have two chain saws). I have this chain saw sharper, and with the help of your video, I will give it a go.

Thank you! I only use it on very dull chains. If you touch it with the hand file you will be okay without the electric one.

I suppose that the angle of grinding has to match to the chain you are sharpening. Don't think is up to you to choose it...

You can definitely change the angle depending on knowledge and experience. If you don't have any of it , just leave it the same.

Many thanks, second video I've watched on this topic and think I've now grasped how too set up. I'm never convinced by my attempts with a file so for £20 think I'll try one of these, having recently bought a new chain it's amazing just how much better a properly sharpened chain cuts.

Give it a try. I think is a good tool to have. Sometimes is easier to pull the file and do it quickly. But this can fix some very dull chains a lot quicker.

Just tried it out on an old chain, recuts the profiles which I'd never have managed with a file, very quick too. Your video was great, didn't have to read the manual.

At first, hand filing does a good job, unless you hit a rock. As you continue filing, the teeth will get more uneven, which will cause it to be rough and uneaven cuts. Then you might use sharpener to even all the teeth. For best results, finnish off with a file.
