Herson, you should make a guide on CPL etiquette, so that all of the new players that join your games aren't passing on great people at the last second or not sending trade routes to allies. Or so that someone could use it as a todo list to act in the most annoying way possible 😊
The delegate when you have a chance to steal asettler thing i really don't get
@@PropheticShadeZYou are basically asking for 10 gold in order to leave the settler alone
I just read those rules. Just play the fucking game and stop trying to get people to give you free shit in the game lmfao.
I found out about this side of civ6 from potatos ffa streams. Havent regretted a second of content.
underciv is a good one too,
Distoria goated
5:07 the first ship anyone builds is by, it’s very definition, an apprentice-ship. 🧘♂️
Civ6 is popular again since Civ7 announcement
Ty will check them out
Yeah I think Herson couldn’t have timed his video series better.
All your videos are quality. The concepts apply beyond multiplayer. Sometimes it takes a different perspective to show people how good a civ can be or why early campuses are usually not worth it.

Played my first game of ffa today through the CPL discord. Thanks for introducing me to that side of civ!
i think you might be getting a bunch of sleep viewers
also the best thing you could do for your content right now would probably be getting an audio improvement, its one of the more important things peoples brains attribute towards quality content
I am a sleep viewer
I would be a sleep viewer if civ6 didn't give me lucid dreams.
I'm one of those new viewers and just discovered your channel.. I really enjoy your content as it keeps making me better at civ
keep it up bud love the content glad the algorithm brought me here
Yup this one's going in my restful slumber collection
I quite like PotatoMcWhiskey's content as well as yours, and I can appreciate the fact that while he's not the best Civ 6 player in a gameplay, he's a very entertaining person to watch. And that's totally fine! I get different things from watching different people play. If I want to chill out and just hear someone chat, that's a different vibe than watching competitive gaming. Plus, I, like a lot of people, started watching Civ 6 content due to Potato, and even if I don't watch him as much anymore, he's the one responsible for my 800 hours on Steam.
Viewership getting big because the algorithm is picking up everyone who watched the Civ7 announcement and looked for the 4 guys who were still putting up frequent content. The discount by Firaxis on the game is just the cherry on top.
Lovethe content Herson!
I've been watching one of these entire longer videos almost everyday, such good content to throw on and learn from while working from home:) Success well deserved 7:00
i've always been mystified about how complex this game is. I feel like i'm finally starting to learn how the game works after watching your vids.
Yeah, it's like watching Magnus or Hikaru play chess. You think: "oh, I can do that"! Then you go play and forget everything you thought you learned. Civ VI multiplayer is very punishing for incorrect moves and once you get into the late early game or mid game it's very easy to get lost into what should I build or what should improve. Should I make another city, or should I start making units? God Forbid you make it past turn 80 or 100 because it's a nightmare for most players to figure out "how to win". Myself included. When I get into the late turns, I'm almost begging for someone to kill me and end my game.
Can you do a video on tips/examples of how to win in a defensive war? I see a lot of your videos where you curbstomp a lagging neighbour. What's a counter to this?
herson i really appreciate when you make the timestamps in teh video please keep doing it
i love Cree, Commercial hubs and internal was my favorite strategy before it became the norm for most civs so he suits me perfectly
I love these long videos
I'll die on the hill that its pronounced TAH-lay-ah
Loving the vids
Do you think early domestic trade routes are worth it even without the bbgm?
For me I started playing Civ very recently when it was discounted like 98% so maybe that’s why viewership is going up as well cuz of new player base growing.
It's just going through an odd revival right now. The buzz will wear off and we will all be moving over to Civ 7. CPL games can be fun till you figure out how time consuming and complicated the game actually is. You're gonna go through hours and days of re-lobbying and scraping high roll starts. And you're gonna get killed on turn 50 a lot which can be frustrating to say the least. You need days where you have 8 to 12 hours that you can play a video game without any real-life interruptions.
how do you have so much production early game?
you really should use auto explorer, after turn 25, on your units, while it is unoptimal, it is better than forget to move, and they will also search for goodhuts
why settle on the maze and not one tile north-west to hit more camps etc
only for the 2-2 tile in the first ring?
tbf i watch potato mcwhiskey because of the challenges and different victories he goes for. Theres a difference between comp and non comp gameplay clearly. but i dont think a lot of people watch potato mcwhiskey and a lot of other creators because they "the best" at civ.
possibly remove turn timer beeping?
1:16:04 this guy is so cool
Is it worth making the 2 encampments?
Herson purring asmr when?
Love the content. Please do a tirlist of the best civs
Do u go communism or democracy on Cree?
do u play stellaris.
pls do a Norway game and guide, such a never used civ :( :( :(
Hey herson, been loving ur videos. As a single player normie, I would love to watch you play a game on the vanilla game to see how crazy a top CPL player could get on that format
Lege just subscribed?
A Cree to disagree.

While you are still having internet issues, you should play single player again and try either the late game ai or Deity ++ mod paired with the real strategy (ai) mod to make the ai more formidable.
I would recommend still playing with BBG and BBM on too because those obviously just make the game better lol. And play on online speed too, why not, its what you're used to:)
If you choose the deity++ mod, i recommend selecting the "fewer free ai units, larger bonuses" setting which is the most fun and consistent setting to play against imo. And of course putting the difficulty on the hardest option
The late game AI mod works pretty similarly to deity ++ (with the above settings i recommended), and even slightly improves the way the ai scales through the game, however I find that the hardest difficulty with this mod is slightly easier than the hardest difficulty in deity ++
The real strategy (ai) mod just improves the AI's decision making slightly, making them actually pursue a victory and build districts working towards said victory. It still leaves a lot to be desired... but it is at least noticeably better..
How common/rare is each victory type in CPL?
Culture and Science are the most common in FFA. Religious simple isn't possible, maybe if you have so many noobs in the lobby. Domination and diplomatic are really rare.
For Teamers, IDK so much.
religion can be possible, herson has a win with it on this channel I think. but it’s mostly cheese, the only way to forcibly convert someone is through war.
Games mostly end before any win conditions are met xD
in my experience it has come down to a CC vote 80% of the time, then science or culture
@@frogvie3624 I think you messed up, I don't remember that happening
why do you hate the potato guy so much
first
congratz
Spam click everything is making this not watchable for me. Is checking for a foregin city 20 times needed before making a sinlge move?
Is BBG realy has better balance? Yeah, it fixes some vanilla problems, but not all. But also it added some own issues, for example Pen, Brush and Voice too strong dedication in classic era. With some politics and governes buffs the game became too fast and snowbally honestly even vanilla looked more balanced. I don't think 400 science turn 70 possible in vanilla.
Doesn't matter. If you want to play CPL you have to play BBG Mod. Civ 7 will be out soon enough, and it will take them a few years to mod that vanilla game. I'm interested to see if everyone jumps to Civ 7 or if some CPL players hold out and play Modded Civ 6. CPL has always moved everything to the next iteration but this time it's a little different with the mods they are committed to. Since Civ 6 has been out for 7 plus years now, I'm guessing everyone jumps ship because I think we ae all tired of Civ 6.
The very best vanilla civs like Khmer, Russia, Babylon, Gaul, Ethiopia, Vietnam etc. can all set faster paces than are possible on any civ in BBG
You probably could make your 200 a day goal if you mixed in single player deity content.
