Completed this quest first time, all thanks to this dude and his amazing guide. Quick tip: Watch ImSikovit do each scene before you attempt it so you always know what to expect. This is really important at parts when the monster is chasing you. At these stages, I wrote each instruction down on some paper, watched how ImSikovit did it, then I attempted it myself. I think it's the most effective way to approach it and it reduces the risk of you dying in the process. Overall, this was the longest and most infuriating quest I have ever had the misfortune to do. I have no interest in the mass amount of XP lamps scattered around this manson because, my head hurts at the sight/thought of it. I will never return. Ever. Good riddens to the worst quest ever created. Thanks again for the help!
That's what I said when I did the quest for the sake of finishing the quest. But, you need that surgeon's ring for a Master clue hidey hole. If you ever get into clues, you'll be back. That's why I'm here. It's the last hidey hole I need to fill.

Excellent guide! For those struggling to re-arrange the books, they are numbered starting with (1) at the bottom of the pile and (7) at the top of the pile.
I was trying to do this quest organically for about an hour and a half, that's when I gave up and searched for a guide. THANK GOD I DID. It's SO LONG I would never have figured it out on my own. LOL
IMPORTANT! If you walk onto the damage ghost without peeking or he's just there even though there wasn't smoke quickly click the door you came from and re-enter, should be able to avoid all damage. You can also flee to a purple room and click the door fast to not receive damage from it. This worked wonders for me after finishing the quest the first time. Got all challenges first try in 29 minutes. Thanks Imsikovit you are a legend mate.

Saved the day! How to use this video: use firefox "picture in picture" to make a popup of the video, or resize the window to be side by side with runescape and follow along! Adjust your rs interface to remove all the clutter (no action bars for example) and you will have a good time. Before doing it though I saw this video one time at 1x, then at 2x then I did it side-by-side with rs. First try was over 37 min, but the second try was 31 min :)

Your ghost luck was ridiculous, I ran into the ghost four times before I even got to the statue room, and in none of those cases did the smoke actually appear until I was already going through the door.

dude you are literally the GOAT of RS Quest Guides Quick tip for anyone playing after the Persistent Rage Relic Redo (which you are if you're reading this comment) you can use devotion to be able to toggle Regenerate On. It wont start Regenerating until after Devotion wears off, but this lets you regen health constantly and should make it so that only the 1 shot demo can kill you.
I've done this quest twice on probably 10+ accounts over the years. I always use this guide. My record for encounters with that ghost guy at the smoke door was 16 times in a single run. I also had a run where it was once lol.
Thanks for this, took me 2 runs because I misclicked and got 1 hit by the monster. The guide is excellent! An extra tip for anyone trying to do the limited healing run, you can peek the doors when running in a purple room, and you won't take damage. Getting the ghost after leaving a purple room is devastating to your HP.

Finally did it! Tyvm for the ring! Took me two attempts, messed up casting the spell the first time. It was really useful to hear a guide rather than having to tab in and out to the wiki - however in some parts it was a bit fast. Had 10 mins remaining when completed!

I hope you read comments Sikovit because I've some serious props for you. I've been using you for guides for a little while now and you've seriously got me through some tough shit. Personally I don't enjoy trying to figure quests out by myself, it takes double/triple the time and I'd rather be doing something else if that was the case. Your guides are clear cut of all bullshit and are always to the point. Your guides now are far better than older ones but I've not had a problem with them, I've just seen others complaining. I'm not joking when I say this you are my second quest guider since GoingCrazy, I've of course used others for guides but since stumbling over your channel I always come back and follow your guides. Just an update for 2023. You can have persistent rage relic active and just rejuvenate whenever you're low on hp. It completes the achievement without using food =D
So close to doing it all in one go! Had to eat 2 pieces of mystery meat though to survive for the first challenge. Really nice guide, I had it playing along as I went, as it was much faster for me to listen instead of checking my notes

There were some places this replay was clearly sped up -- that or Jagex was taking a very long time to load the next room -- or both... Other than that, good walkthrough, got the first 2 challenges the first time. I'll try to run this again and see if I can get closer to 23 :) Thank you and have a nice day
Thank you so much for this. I needed the ring for a Master Clue scroll and I thought I would never be able to do it in under 37 minutes (took me 50 the first time, using a written guide) But I did all 3 challenges at once at 33 minutes.
i died somewhere in the middle of this quest and had to go back and find the gems i lost .. finally got them back and i was back on track thanks to the guide i was able to complete it. Now to do it under the time limit... got it 4th time.. i beat it under the time limit but didnt realize u need to complete it without food to get the ring..

got to the statue part where you get the hair brush and only have 1 gem for the statue and not the two needed to move on. I've followed and paused this video step by step for the last hour. I don't see how I've possibly missed a gem
Christine Zeppieri read rs wiki and it was the scorched skeleton in the purple room. search and hit the space bar as soon as the dialog pops up on your screen and make sure you have the gem or the damage from the poison will close the chat and you won't get the gem.

The completely direct approach you show in this video made the quest fairly easy to do in one attempt for the Surgeon Ring.

at minute 19:45 that door tells me (This door has a combination lock. you don't recognize any of the symbols) how do I solve that
You forgot the peep hole, when you climb down the cabinet you have to peek in the peephole on the wall and youll memorize it
