    Just got the 2nd flush from my bale. We used the spawn from one of the 'Back to the Roots' grow-indoor kits. After the first indoor flush, we bought a straw bale and inoculated the bale with the box kit. It took a while to get going, but now they're just popping! A very economical and tasty grow project... methinks next year we'll do a few bales.

      Thank you for trying this project Wardens. The grow kit you mentioned is with Blue Oyster mushrooms, which is a cool weather strain. We recommend trying this with a pink oyster (spawn on our website). The pink oyster is very aggressive and fast growing, and should give you an even better harvest. Congratulations on your success.

    I have one suggestion to overcome problems of sterilization and drying or evopartion of water and to keep water amount in exact quantity and to grow lots mashroom. I really appreciate mashroom bed and stand. We can use cement or clay block.
    My suggestions is, In Bharat we have very normal pressure cooker, we put water, remove nosal , fix gas pipe and make it wet with steam.
    To water the mashroom plant on such bed , we make steam on low temperature and pass it on top or bottom to or in a room to make grasses wet.
    After that to keep grasses constantly wet, we must pass it in room or on top or bottom. You must experiment.
    Steam will be absorbed very quickly and easily, even in colder temperatures but I don't have any knowledge of very colder weather, so you must experiment.
    You can reduce the temperature of steam by reducing flame.
    The price of mashroom must be below the price of hen , so that restaurant can serve lower prices barbecue of mashroom.
    I offer my gratitude to you.
    If we want to cover it inside plastic bag, we can cover it, with very hygienic conditions . I can't explain on net, I can draw and show.
    Namh shivay.

    Hi, great video, thank you for this. I have a question about the temperature, what is the maximum temperature recommended, as well as the coolest temps? Thanks again!

    • @2AngelsFigs
      @2AngelsFigs 6 лет назад +3

      The internal temperature should be measured with a thermometer. A composting thermometer is ideal if you have one. If the internal temps reach 110+ F, the mushroom mycelium will begin to die. On the other hand, if it freezes that will also kill this particular variety of mushroom since it is a tropical species.

    • @jay71512
      @jay71512 5 лет назад

      If you look closely on the stalks of mushrooms you can usually see mycelium. If you slice this up you can grow mushrooms from it. It is much easier and much more likely to succeed if you buy a bag of spawn though. It isnt expensive and can be purchased online easily. Good luck.

      They want 95% humidity (isn't possible outdoors) and 72~75F. They will fruit with lower temps, but will be slower and may not be as thick and vibrant. Colder grows (with less light) can lead to smaller, stringier fruits that contain less pigment (pink.)

      Much more easy to find straw (.. i actually heard on ioutub about growing mushroom on hay..)
      If you have around you non treated (otherwise it poisons you..) cereals growers, you could find rye, barley or other cereal's straw ..
      You can grow mushroom in many ways on many substrates; grains, wood, shavings, sawdust, and many agricultural wastes are still to try..
