- The University of Kentucky absolutely crushed the 2024 NCAA Basketball Transfer Portal. They brought in 7 stud pieces (Brandon Garrison, Koby Brea, Kerr Kriisa, Andrew Carr, Otega Oweh, Lamont Butler, Amari Williams) that will all have big impacts. New coach Mark Pope had a lot of rebuilding to do, and he was able to recruit top talent for his high powered offensive scheme that saw much success at BYU.

In terms of shooting you didn't even mention Travis Perry and Collin Chandler. Both really good shooters in their own right. They have 4 dudes that are borderline 40 percent 3 pt shooters. Brea is almost a 50 percent 3 pt shooter, Kerr Krissa is a 42 percent, Travis Perry shot like 45 percent and collin Chandler shot like 43 percent or something. All four legit threats from deep.

You got it all right , but don’t forget that they have two other guards that may end up being future stars in chandler and Perry .. the ceiling is as high as one can see . A FANTASTIC YEAR AHEAD for The CATS .. not to mention BBN .. let’s get it on !!
Looks like a lot like Arkansas last year... A bunch of really good players but lacks the overall cohesiveness needed to actualize full potential...

Arkansas didnt have a “bunch” of good players besides mark & battle & dude is a free throw merchant lol
I’m fine with recruiting the portal/mid-major players. So many of those players are fantastic and help create “Cinderella moments “ in the NCAA Tournament. Fascinating time in college basketball.
I agree. I would rather recruit a good "mid-major" player with quality college experience than a 5-star high school player (who played against questionable competition) who thinks that they are entitled to start. Too many of the latter have sunk UK in the NCAA the last few years (along with poor coaching).
@@alejandrohazera7895 I agree with you. And even in the last two years, counting this year, that happened. All credit to the schools that beat us, but competitively we need to learn how to win in this time.

I don't see it... I see a good collection of players but I don't see the cohesiveness on paper... I mean who is the glue guy ? Who is the starting point? This team vastly differentiate anything Mark Pope has ever coached...
@@ripwatts373 at this time i see Butler at point, Chandler/Krissa 2 (either could be back up point) Brea/Oweh 3, Carr 4 Garrison/Amari 5. Perry will be better than most expect at 1 or 2. just need another 4

I am not sure I would agree with the term, “Kentucky Dominated”. Coach Pope and Staff did well thus far. The experts have rated his recruitment efforts in the top 10. My concern will be having them all play as a team. There are some egos in this group (Kerr Kriisa) and they all believe they are superstars. In my opinion (I believe I’m entitle to one) the best transfer addition is Brandon Garrison. He has 3 years remaining and with some development could be a dominating player, if he is patient. My next concern will be Travis Perry, he is a scoring stud. But will they give him enough playing minutes to keep him next year. Time will tell! GO BIG BLUE!
