FYI- you do not need to remove the center console or the storage pocket underneath to remove the stereo. All four 10mm bolts are accessible by removing the two side trim pieces and the clock.

The stock head unit on my girlfriend's camry has an option to show you mpg information like miles left to empty, average mpg, etc. Does this headunit still display that Information?
I followed these instructions to replace the OEM radio with another OEM radio and all the buttons on both the stereo and steering wheel worked (same with the aux power ports on the dash and centre console). Not 100% sure about the security alarm -- mine flashes as it did before but I can't guarantee it'll work perfectly.

So much unnecessary disassembly. Why install a new mic? Why not reuse the factory one? This is only model I've seen where a new mic is necessary, heck only one I've seen where GPS required such a bulky dongle (unless that was always skipped). What about factory functions found under settings? Are those still present?
@@ceevee7825 i ended up getting it. The thing upgrades the LE to XLE in terms of functions (difference is door open alert) You might need to dig some, but I've seen all settings present. My largest complaint is the static pop that kills Android auto
@@ceevee7825 i also didn't install new mic because it's a horrendous thing that would just stick out somewhere. There's a way to splice factory mic into this unit, but it's not recommended. Built in mic on the unit has been good enough. I haven't had complaints

Philectricity Inc. It’s a plug and play and will connect with your OEM camera. I have the same unit and I can tell you that it works besides the steering wheel buttons that works as well.

They do but he didn’t show us on the video, I just installed mine 1 week ago and there was an extra wire came with it I just left it on my glove box, I can show it to you.

@@videogamebros2639 personal opinion? No. Horrible acceleration, cheaply designed parts, and overall overpriced when new. Heck I just did $500 in body panel replacements over a serious design choice involving 40 cent bolts that fell off! Only true positive is excellent mileage.

With this installation of a microphone and a GPS antenna, it is possible to not fully open the driver’s safety curtain in the event of an accident, then they will drag you through the courts if an accident occurs and it doesn’t open because of your fault, or the side airbag will not fully open, and the driver will for this death.
I've been reading up on dashcam installations and they suggest running the cables the same way as this. There is no indication that these interfere with the airbag system. See Car Cam Central channel's video called "The Easy Guide to Hide Your Dash Camera's Wires (Car Cameras)" for more info in the comments of that video.

Yes. Those are programs within the stereo unit that talk to the main engine computer to get that information.
