i had the same problem, probably you are using cable without data wire. try different cable. I used from my Samsung galaxy...

I had this problem I switched cables until I finally say my computer on the bottom right hand say cp210 then I went to device manager and it appeared. I guess the cable I was using might have been charge only. But once the computer read it I went into device manager and updated from there how he did. Before I updated it showed a yellow triangle

Try heading for Device Manager and under the Action >> add Legacy Driver and follow the wizard Add the Silicon Labs driver (no install disc required)
