    Donovan McNabb definitely deserves to be in the HOF, no one realized he never had any good receivers beside TO & they finally went over the hump with him & made the super bowl & TO was injured all before that... With TO healthy they would of won the Super Bowl no doubt. Idk why Hugh Douglas hatin on his old teammate like that, he just never like McNabb & you can tell that now. He def got owned by that women. Um no he doesn't. He was a good QB back in his prime but he didn't have an eye popping stats like Brady, Brees, or Manning did. Dougles made a good point about how he ended his career. I mean losing a QB job to a rookie and named Ponder? Come on now...

      When he pushed TO out of Philly he also threw away all chances to win a Super Bowl....Which is why I choose McNair over McNabb, McNair did so much more with so much less just imagine if McNair had TO or take a look back at his first season with Baltimore he lead them 13-3 reuniting with Dereck Mason and also had Todd Heap at TE, McNair never had that much talent on Offense before.

    Skip is right for once. Donovan was never once named All Pro. Don't give me his numbers, because he played on a pass-happy team in an era when the rules were wildly skewed to favor passing offenses... you have to compare him to Brady and Manning (not to Stabler and Tarkenton) if you want to run numbers. I wonder how many inductees failed to win a single All Pro designation. "Hall of Very Good" is exactly right for McNabb.

      Tom Brady was winning Super Bowls with Hall of Fame studs like David Givens and David Patten.
      McNabb may have had weak receivers, but consistently had great protection, Brian Westbrook and Jim Johnson's suffocating defense. McNabb routinely failed in the playoffs because he never stepped up when Philly needed him the most.

    I think when it comes to DMac you have to ask did he have a real go to wide receiver??? The only time he really did is when he had TO and that's when they went to a superbowl. So imagine if he had a real go to wideout his entire career like Troy Aikman, Kurt Warner (had two), Brett Favre, Steve Young, Joe Montana, etc.

    • @justinmcwaters4962

      Imagine he didn't have the greatest Westcoast mind in NFL history as his coach and that he didn't have a top 10 defense, top 5 running back, and great offensive line. He also did have good receivers. Now hall of fame? Probably not but Brady could say the same for himself until gronk. He only had randy moss 1 season and broke every record ever recorded in a season. McNabb was a scrambling qb who shutdown and threw picks in the clutch. Go back in big games and watch. He would always melt under pressure and that's his legacy. No matter what you have around you, if you throw picks to double coverage, it's your fault.

    • @hustlaus
      @hustlaus 2 года назад

      @@justinmcwaters4962 You really can't compare Brady and DMac. Reid is good but he's not Belichick. When people talk Brady they often leave out those incredible defensive players who often forced turnovers. Let's take a trip down memory lane. Vince Wolfork. Junior Seau, Rodney Harrison, Ty Law, etc. Also Brady had the benefit of the Tuck Rule, Spy Gate, Deflate Gate, The Ty Law rules etc. I stand by what I said, DMac didn't have a go to receiver until T.O. and when he got there they went to the Superbowl. Most QBs who go have two to three go to wide receivers and he did ot with one. His tight ends were always average at best and his running backs were far better receivers than rushers.

      Dude he had Thomas and Runyan, one of the top two LT/RT combos in that era. Coming from an Eagles fan. He had decent lines in his career, the running game was mediocre for the most part throughout his career in his prime. He tore his acl and lost a step or two, part of his dangerous ability was his two dimensional run/pass combo. If he had that when Westbrook was running for 1300+ yards, that defence from 04/08 they could have had a chance for a superbowl.

      He had accuracy issues. He was a great winner, competitor, very good runner, great on intangibles, work ethic a bit suspect. Not that Terrell Owens is w/o issues, but one of TOs beefs w/ McNabb was his lack of willingness to spend time in film study, where he wanted to point out to him some of his accuracy flaws, as well as w/ premature deliveries, so McNabb could go from just being good, to elite, just by pointing out a couple subtle details, and McNabb wasn't interested.
      Now I'm defending the sit ups in the driveway later on, but TO had a point during the Super Bowl season. Aesthetically, he was a lot like John Elway to me, but Elway was willing to put in the extra film time, practice sessions w/ his receivers, to cut down some of his flaws, and worked super hard on his conditioning year-round. McNabb loved to play football, but he wasn't a grinder in practice like Elway, who was always looking to get better.
      From an entertainment standpoint, I felt McNabb was one of the most entertaining players to watch on the field. And he knew how to get it done, like the 4th & 26 completion vs. Green Bay, and many others, but I have him as the 2nd greatest Eagles quarterback of all-time, behind Randall Cunningham, who also by the way, is not in. Randall was an even more lethal runner than McNabb, who could also hurdle in the open field over would-be-tacklers, could throw it just as far, but w/ nicer touch, had a smoother release.

      @@arsonhakobyandude Terrell owens literally fell asleep in meetings and got called out. It's one of the reasons his beef started with Jeff Garcia.
      Terrell owens got mad at McNabb because McNabb didn't fight the eagles front office to resign TOs contract.
      TO took all of that out on McNabb when TO was the one who signed a bad contract.
      McNabb studied film, you don't get coached by Reid and not be in the film room. You're obviously biased towards Owens

Ignorant coaches and a bad game don't discredit a great player. However, McNabb was never a hall of fame QB. He was a decent QB who was explosive at times. He was also the reason his team never won a Superbowl with him. Interceptions in a moment you must drive and score is what splits good from great. Great QBs throw interceptions but not in the clutch. Mcabb will never make it. Had he won one ring with 5 NFC champ game appearances i think he gets in, but he fell just short. I will always argue Mcnabb did the most with the least talent at the skill position in the modern era.

    Hugh is Brainwashed! Trying to figure anyway to not put him in hall of fame... Personality? Philly didn’t embrace him? Really?? Even Marino didn’t put theat fear in you of a great running QB. Marino was an excellent passer but running with the ball is a great X factor also!! They keep moving the goal post with McNabb...Ohh, if he got all of this, then he doesn’t have that.

    Fuck no. People talk about Tony Romo never winning, this guys actually had the defense and the team to get him a ring. He's been to 5 NFC title games and couldn't get it done. If McNabb goes in then put Romo in.

      shortstackJMD96 typical idiot cowboys fan.... hating on McNabb for beating your tails for 11 years. go outside the scope of your own team and actually use your intelligence! don't even compare the 2. McNabb was way better and more successful than Romo. and before u try to mention your little rookie QB dak, 1 year says nothing. even if he finds a way to win the SB this year. talk to me in 5 years after he's been doing it for a while. let's see if he makes it to 5 championship games. and no, McNabb didn't have all the tools around him. a defense? yes. an o - line? yes. a hof rb? not a hof but a couple decent ones. but the big issue was wr. he had 1 season with a good wr and look what happened! super bowl. and if that wr had 2 good legs that day, Donovan would have his ring. see, u gotta go outside the scope of your team and think rationally. me as an eagles fan, if someone asks me if Aikman was better than McNabb, immediately I say yes. so be more intelligent

    Warren Moon didn't win half as much as McNabb did but he's in

    • @timmysullivan2515
      @timmysullivan2515 7 лет назад +9

      Moon had numbers that McNabb couldn't even fathom of ever having, not to mention the former spent a portion of his career in the CFL... Moon would almost certainly be maybe the most prolific quarterback in NFL history had he played in the NFL longer.

    • @negadelph
      @negadelph 6 лет назад

      Timmy Sullivan and the Eagles had a better team around McNabb than the Oilers had around Moon.

    • @colinwalker9892
      @colinwalker9892 6 лет назад +2

      You must realize that Moon would have been the guy to reset every record known to the QB position if the black QB at the time was seen worthy to play the position at the time not Dan Marino not Brett Favre Warren moon was the first to throw for 70,000 plus yards in pro football. He went to the CFL and won the championship every season until the NFL had no choice but to let him in that's when free agency was born.

    • @AllPro777
      @AllPro777 6 лет назад

      Warren Moon is a legend in TWO pro football leagues and is in the Hall of Fame in BOTH leagues. Also, most Americans don't realize that when Moon was in the CFL and was part of the Eskimoes 5-consecutive Grey Cup Dynasty, the CFL's talent was very much on par with the NFL's and if you don't believe me ask any NFL GM at the time (Bill Polian for example will tell you it's true). The NFL's salaries skyrocketed after the 1985 season and the CFL could no longer compete, but for decades the CFL was getting top talent because they actually paid higher salaries than the NFL was paying at the time.
      Warren Moon was 41 and STILL lighting it up in the NFL, lol. Hell, he made the Pro Bowl with 3 DIFFERENT TEAMS and was 41 the last time he made it!
