Can i ask you a question? During your time have you encountered the bodies of other player, that you can avenge? I have not seen a single one and it was an advertised feature in the previews. I google it and can only find a reddit post complaining about not seeing it either and the rest is news sites talking about it as a feature. Please responde. Thank you.
@@igortrindade9644 it should be working now. i played this last weekend and ran into 3 unique player IDs that i could avenge. i think it only shows you players nearby who are playing at the same moment you are.
Another good tip I found is when you have the fall damage debuff, a quick dash before landing will reset the fall distance causing you to take non at all. 👍
Good tip that I've been using since day one. Always get that parasite. That and anything that worsens malfunctions. Just avoid malfunctions altogether. Malignant items are almost never worth picking up.
The tip number one shows how incredibly well crafted this game is. The natural reflexe when you encounter a big fatty in video games is to keep your distance as much as possible but Returnal rewards you massively for taking the risk to fight them upfront. Similarily, Overload and the way the dash is designed forces you to keep your head cool at any given time and rewards timing and precision while punishing button mashing. I personally love this.
Another good thing about melee... anything you break/kill with the melee attack automatically sends all of its obelites straight to you, rather than you having to run around and pick them up.
When looking for the target to shoot to release a gated chest, if you hold down aim the target will make a sound to help you locate it, and its color will change to red.
Good tips. I'd add that resurrection chambers only work while you're in the same region. If you go through the gate to the next region, it won't save you when you die. Unfortunately, nothing in game says this, so when I got a little too aggressive on my best run yesterday, thinking my rez chamber would save me, I got punted back to the start, because I'd moved on to the last dungeon... Weh! Also the pylon is AMAZING. You can let damage over time wear down the hardest enemies like bosses and minibosses while you just focus on dodging, getting behind cover where available with nonboss elites, and firing when safe to keep up the DoT. Also, "regen when low health" is by far the highest priority parasite or artifact. You can't die if you aren't at low health, it will take you to low health first, so the artifact or parasite can save you and give you enough time to play keep away until you are out of danger. A boss can hit you a hundred times and never kill you as long as the hits aren't too close together.
You have said ALL my thoughts exactly - for the struggling player this gun is THE BEST! Definitely awesome except for maybe the under water biome in which I found the Hollowpoint? Gun with Orb or purple beam I can't remember the names now... when I got that along with the "turret" attachment - I knew it was time to beat the game/final boss - beast combination of a gun! I would add to also prioritize the parasite that essentially saves you from death as well, stacking those two is great! I find sometimes when you're not lucky enough to get an astronaut artifact you will find this parasite more often.
I wanna add two things: -3D audio really helps in those lockdown areas. If your device doesn't support it (like my Bose Soundbar), the game suggests to plug the headphones into the controller to get 3D audio. It really works and helps a lot (not to mention that it sounds awesome)! -the radar helps a lot with dodging projectiles off screen. You simply can't survey 360° during fights all the time, but the radar warns you and when it turns a dark red, just dodge. It works like those arrows in God of War that prompted you to dodge blindly.
It's amazing when given the relevant information without extra padding for words or constantly repeating the same thing over. Amazing video and thank you.
My personal tip: while the dreadbound is high risk, high reward, the hollowseeker is high reward with almost no risk. Once you upgrade it and get the Portal Beam trait, you can clear a room of enemies from miles away with ease. Biomes 5 and 6 are actually easy when you use this weapon.
Most of the time, enemies and even elites are a cakewalk. At random, however, there'll be a perfect storm. A perfect pairing of grunts in just the right zone, you get cornered, etc. It won't feel even remotely beatable. Sprinkle these moments ahead of a boss which is a total personification of everything described, and here I am.
Same here. I will be walking confident two sections before the boss fight with the full health pack and a little astronaut, only to get those depleted by a lockdown of, as you said, the perfect pairing of enemies. Whole run down the drain
So much this! Some cycles when instead of rushing to the boss I really take the time, and upgrade my integrity, my proficiency and make an effort to get an astronaut as well as the "mega health" consumable (can't remember all the items' names) to make a serious push. 100% guarantee shortly before the anathema gate I will encounter a lockdown with a nasty combination (2 greens, 1 elite, and those blue guys that turn orange and charge you) that just plows through my resources and I am under 50% health and no items to fight the boss. Now if this is the case for my first or second run, fine, I'll restart the cycle and try my luck. But after more than 9 hours wiping at the boss or a little before it gets a tad frustrating, to say the least.
I recently thought I had it all going for me in the 3rd biome, when I went into a portal and landed in a secret area which had its own mini-boss- a slow moving giant who could grab me from across the arena and pull me in while having lots of protection, so I didn't do much damage. this game is tough.
This game was SO refreshing after beating RE in like 10 hours. Took me a week to beat the Phrike(the first boss) in Returnal - that being said, now beating the game - I feel so accomplished... and even after over 100 deaths - there's still replay value it's still fun and challenging. Love this game! I was really amazed with the lighting in the scene after the last boss under water before the end.. I don't want to spoil anything - but it made me smile thinking about the other PS5 games to come and how awesome the console graphics are getting.
This. To me a replay value must be added otherwise i just delete it. I heard some of the dev comments and thats what they aimed for. A game that you can repeatedly play. For me that is a big win. Also super frustrating game when you die stupidly. or get lasers stupidly.
Here's a big tip, don't buy the 25% more health upgrade in the shop on each level until you've cleared the level and collected all the Silphium and Resin to upgrade you health as much as possible. Waiting to add on 25% of a bigger total number is much better! Another tip is to be careful with the artefact that makes the positive effects of parasites stronger, it doesn't work retroactively, with current parasites, it only works for future parasites you pick up! If you grab this powerful artefact and have a couple of mediocre parasites already, consider trying to find a way to remove them to make room for the full amount of parasites throughout your run to have stronger positive effects!

I've found that the Hollowseeker with portal beam and waves or serrated blades makes mincemeat of most bosses, beat 2, 3 and 6 first time with one. If you're really lucky you can get Portal Turret and voidbeam too.
If your aim is to get to the boss(es) and progress, then spec for health, protection, and buy each of the large HP items from the shops. If you wanna be doubly sure, rush to the shop and check for the Astronaut augment. If it's not there, reset.

remap jump to R1, and dash to L1. change it now so you can get used to it as soon as possible. also, quick tip for starting, keeping your adrenaline and health up is really important. so do what you need to do to minimize taking damage, I would suggest trying to keep a distance from enemies till youve learned their patterns (and maybe way after youve learned them too), more distance means more time to dodge. its temping to want to be up close especially with certain weapons that encourage that, I would save them till you have synergies or know enemy patterns. actually one last thing on the keeping distance thing. being in the up close on an enemy often means you wont have as many enemies in your vision as possible, and can get hit by something you didnt see. staying back gives you a lower chance of being hit by something you couldnt see. you can only hold 15 artifacts, so dont take ones that you dont benefit from, if given the choice between a stat upgrade or an artifact that you dont find useful, always take the stat upgrade because they dont count toward the 15 artifacts. orange force field doors need the sword rebalancer artifact, I didnt know this for a long time. lastly, dont worry about the red goop and water rooms, youll be able to traverse them safely later.
One quibble on the healing items: they USUALLY work like you say, turning into resins when your integrity is full, but some won’t convert. Specifically some of the ones in the gold star door challenge room will not change to resins. And there are some scattered around that are always resins even if you’re not full. I adore this title. Tip #1 - Try to not die! Jokes aside, this is a really helpful video. I know I'm gonna have trouble with the bumper swap for dashes since I'm used to the regular dash input after 50 hours, but I'll give it a go sometime. Maybe that'll help me out with dealing with the Act 2-1 turrets haha
Heres my tip to add: Whenever possible, melee while jumping. It completely eliminates that .5 - 1 second of immobile vulnerability you get after normal use without jumping.
I rarely sub to channel. I'm subbed to one fitness channel, one motorcycle channel and gameranx. I'm a nobody, but if my opinion mattered, you are an awesome professional and i subbed
I took a quick scroll to see if this was mentioned, but the side arm shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger. I'm not very far at all but I sometimes prefer it over other weapons because I can spam shots ridiculously fast, sort of reminds me of some of Warframes pistols.

I had all but given up on this game but after watching I'm gonna take another run at it. Thanks... I hope
Wow great tips! Will definitely help on my next run👌🏿
Heres my tip to add:
Whenever possible, melee while jumping. It completely eliminates that .5 - 1 second of immobile vulnerability you get after normal use without jumping.
I just jump and dash before meleeing
Goddamn what a great channel!
Thanks!
I rarely sub to channel. I'm subbed to one fitness channel, one motorcycle channel and gameranx. I'm a nobody, but if my opinion mattered, you are an awesome professional and i subbed
Thanks these tips were super useful i actually learned something about this game
Thanks for the gaming tips!
Swap dash to L1 as the consumables are rarely used and having r18 prevents you from shooting while dashing, L1 does not.
Thank you for this information. This game is kicking my ass.
hey man love the video. subbed and will def stick around! just wondering if the ship healing was patched or somethin?
I was wondering the same thing because I don’t heal at all :(
It still works, but it only heals part of your health and you can only do it once per run.
Good stuff, thanks!
"You have a healthy attention span" is the nicest thing anyone's said to me since I became a grown-up
I took a quick scroll to see if this was mentioned, but the side arm shoots as fast as you can pull the trigger. I'm not very far at all but I sometimes prefer it over other weapons because I can spam shots ridiculously fast, sort of reminds me of some of Warframes pistols.
