Fun tip with the sword: you can use it to bypass the momentum loss at the end of an air dash. Have you by chance read the tutorials? They explicitly say that dash grants invincibility (that's what "i" in "i-frames" stands for in fighting games, at least) for a brief duration, and the laser traps are designed specifically to solidify that understanding.

So far my favorite is Demon’s Souls even though I’m complete shit at the game. Regardless of Live, Die, Repeat Returnal is still a lot of fun for me. Which is cool as I knew absolutely nothing about Returnal I was simply just scrolling the Playstation Store and saw a new game called Returnal had released and a quick search told me it was a Souls like games but with a formula that mixed in a lot more like Mass Effect, Gears of War, so I decided to just buy it on a whim. Especially since I was hyped as balls for Village and I thought Returnal would be a nice title to hold me over until then. Funny enough is Village arrived with the Steel Book Case and I have yet to even open the game as Returnal has my undivided attention. Dash does NOT have I-Frames, it allows pass through most attacks, however when in the latter half of the game purple attacks will damage you during a dash. Red, green, blue, pink? Dash. Purple? Dashing through will damage you.
Lmao that's literally what i-frames are. What else would you call passing through active hit boxes unscathed. Purple is "undodgeable".
Have you by chance read the tutorials? They explicitly say that dash grants invincibility (that's what "i" in "i-frames" stands for in fighting games, at least) for a brief duration, and the laser traps are designed specifically to solidify that understanding.
I haven't played this game yet because i haven't gotten ps5 but by looking at how th bullets spread toward you is like airplane shooter like Raiden series
Just booted up this game for the first time, it's awesome.. risk of rain 2 on steroids and atmosphere to the max
Yep I finished the game.
didn't know about overload until now ...damnnn😮
I'm curious to see how the msinstream audience, thirsty for PS5 exclusives, are going to react to a difficult, rogue-like.
We love it
@@DougieDP Yes, we do
We hate it. We ask God why each time level 1 boss kills us, or why we die looking for health.
Second boss wiped me cuz I couldn’t find a health pack lol. Love this game.
I was struggling with the first boss. Killed the second boss on the first try. But both bosses left me with like 1 hp :) and I cannot even get the third boss. Those flying homing missiles assholes annihilate me
@@chukksy lol. I just love how it’s challenging, but not cheap. Like, you’re going to figure those homing missiles out probably within a couple runs.
@@ComicsLamar it did not take a couple of runs :) about 10 hours of gameplay just to get through the third biome. Been to the boss only three time. Defeated him on the third try. But just barely. And I had 2 extra lives and a save point. The next one was easy though.
Good tips.
I just got this game and i love it cause it reminds me of Doom but i cannot get pass the first boss i have died like 10 times lol do they make it easier after they done seen you die a million times? Lol
On one or two reviews they told that Malignant are totally NOT WORTH the risk!
Made it to the 2nd biome on the 2nd cycle lol neir prepared me
Is the melee weapon the only way to break those red shield 🛡️?
There is a "Shield Breaker" alt-fire that can punch through the barrier, but it doesn't come by very often.
What’s the easiest way to beat the first boss and does he really have 3 extra health meters
I, too, want to know this information
Yes he has. Make sure to have full HP, an Astronaut for an extra life and the device too heal. U get both in this ,shop' you know what i mean
I bought this game on Friday. It’s now Monday and I haven’t beat the first boss yet..
It seemed like you ate a lot of hits without losing adrenaline, in fact, I'm not sure you even covered adrenaline. How is it you can sustain some hits?
My only problem is running of the edge during fights. I did it 3 times and died without taking any enemy damages
Is the health bar increase permanant.
How hard is it to get the platinum trophie?
Just like Alienation, Housemarquee other bullet hell shooter. I highly recommend.
I feel like playing enter the gungeon prepared me for this
My god this game is hard as hell! I say it’s harder than Dark souls and or bloodbourne
Bloodborne and dark souls are not even that hard bro
@@zSenzy lol exactly
Yep I agree
Bloodborne is the hardest, then dark souls then this is easy. This is just a dodge simulator.
@@wirechair dmc3 dmd turbo mode from game option
I love this game
Yo anyone wanna tell me at max how many times i can die? Because 3 is the limit in hades before i get sent back to the house of hades and i wanna know if this is worth buying
If you die, you go back.
I’m loving this game, I’m not very far but it’s got a very addicting and interesting hook. I want to find out what that damn astronaut is about.
I really really like this game but I’m lost with where to go.
Stick to square doors early in the game, avoid the upside down V shaped doors. This is working for me to progress through the level. You will always leave stuff that you can come back for via the teleports once you unlock more abilities and xeno tech further in.
Lots of spoilers here, thanks guys. Don't know why you thought that was necessary. Showing footage from the first biome, or first 2 would have been more than sufficient to get your point across.
Great game but not if you don't have a few hours to play in one sitting, I'd wait for a sale. 70 dollars is a bit much for a roguelike.
Im 9 hours in and dont get the First Boss done
Keep going, enjoy. You'll finish that boss soon!
@@DarrenCarroll72 thanks
Expolre everything before attempting to kill it
Same here, I've gotten super close though
I'm about at that same time. I had a nice build going and was about to go try the boss then I got the most Insane room imaginable and died... I almost cried.
This game is making me go crazy but I cant stop trying to get farther
Don't stop moving really is the best tip for the game...Also some things you can't dash through on NG+ keep that in mind.
I am really proud that i got the first boss on my 2nd try?
Yea man, getting to the bosses is just as hard as the bosses themselves. And their random positioning / lockdowns don’t allow for any cheese. Just wait till you hit the Citadel boss, it’s fucking insane, and really hard to even get there. I’ve never felt so proud in completing something in a video game
I just played the game and i kept dying i never kept a single cycle for too long the problem that i faced now is sometimes i face huge number of powerful enemies at once , and keep running out of health rocks any suggestions because now the game itself very good but very hard and i am on the edge to delete it
change jump to L1 and dash to R3. this allows u to jump and dash without ever have to take your thumb off the stick so u can jump and dash and aim at the same time.
I did not play the game, just watch. But can someone tell me what is the point of cubes in which you can put items permanently. What kind of items? And what point have reconstructors? Do they give you one more life like astronaut figurine? Hollowseeker is good weapon in earlier game and later is electropylon driver.
Return to older biomes… ok but how? I recently beat the second boss und want to go back to biome 1, but the portal is not there where I started. ?!?!?
So when he says permanent does that mean you can turn the game off and turn it back on and you still have that items
Correct
I have 8 hours in, in what way do weapons upgrade permanently??? The only thing that upgrades is the attribute of the weapon you start at weapon proficiency at 0.
Yeah I think he messed up on that. Like sure you can unlock permanent mods for weapons but you still have to pick up a modded weapon for that to be there. You don't start with a modded pistol.
How do you get the attributes added to the weapon?
@@wirechair it'll be on the weapon when you pick it up and say 0% at first then that bar will fill up as u use it. Once it's unlocked, you won't have to unlock it again.
@@wirechair they are already on there its a random roll as you use the weapon the Stat will become increased so if you pick up a gun and notice it having a lock on the attribute just by using it you'll unlock it.
I can't believe that I thought it was so hard. The only thing I changed is the hipfire thing, and I literally went all the way to Biome 3 on the second try.
Sure buddy
I just started playing, I got up to the first boss on my second run!! Even better I got him down to a fucking SLIVER of his last health bar before he got me...
I'm like "this game is amazing, fast past and intense"
I very quickly realized that's not how it's supposed to go. I haven't gotten to him again in 3 hours haha. It's fucking kicking my ass. That 2nd run though showed me a fraction of what this game could be. And goddammit I'm hooked. I WILL see this through to the end.
Also, melee is overpowered. In a good way. Obviously that's common news to vets. But it was beat to discover. I'm also very invested in this strange story. Highly recommend.
Will purchase the game when I'm done to support the devs better. Currently playing on ps extra. Such a fun game.
I had one build like a tank. Had a shotgun that took guys out in one or two shots. Swept thru about 4 biomes until I got to some BIG boss wiped me
This game gives off the same vibe as knack
KNACK 3 BAYBEEEEEEEE!!!
15 things returnal doesn't tell you. Almost all of them returnal does tell you though. That should be the title.
Returnal remind me of ReCore 💯😏
🤮🤮🤮
When I saw how the boss almost slew that hard worker player.. I opened my eyes shocked and said nooo way I play this.. and not even all my 70 platinums would rescue me follow this guy's same destiny😭😭😂
Anyone else never heard the term Rogue-like or heard of the game Rogue until Returnal??
I’ve been gaming 35 years and never heard it. Maybe it’s cause I don’t PC game 🤔
Never heard of Hades? Spelunky? Dead Cells? Enter the Gungeon? Some recent games that are in the same Rogue-like genre
Damn and I’m still repeating cycles trying to kill Phrike.
I have never been good at souls like games but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying them. Well as much as I can tbh.
The mechanics can be rough as hell but once you get it down to a T it is extremely fun.
top 10 simplest things you learn if you play the game
Start with the pistol? The pistol you start with never has mods on it
If your good at doom should be good at this as well right?
Same adrenaline-inducing gameplay, different mechanics though (especially on a macro level)
This game is so good
Another one: you can heal at the ship as much as you want.
No it's patched as of last night😭
I already know everything that you said at your video , the only thing that bugs me , the sleep mode has a chance to corrupt your save data and cause you to lose progress 😑
Why is the "Overload" feature in this tho 😑
