I know you are busy, I just wanted to say thanks to yours and a few other videos... I am 100% certain that the one who gave the execution order for Orabashi's reading Beyond Sun and Moon (suposedly Thanes, or at least Celestia) is dead.
The fact that the traveler can read the book and not be murdered instantly, means no one is there to enforce the law of execution, or even issue the order.
This does not account with any potential Irminsyl tamperings.

It's funny because this kind of reasoning is the reasoning for people like Tectone who think Genshin has a bad story or is childish and not deep. Basically 'if I didn't get forced to see it and I have to read, it doesn't exist'.

It makes me upset, almost unreasonably so. I don't know who that guy is but I'm guessing a genshin drama channel who either mindlessly repeats wrong information regarding meta stuff or plays devil's advocate for the sole purpose of having a different opinion, not perspective. But aside from that I really enjoy Genshin's story, even if it can be handled a bit poorly at times.
Now I'm not very well read in terms of mythology, history, and cultural backgrounds I'm not a part of/familiar with, but watching various theories from various theory channels has made me appreciate just how deeply interconnected the story is. Even if it seems like a stretch to some, or unnecessary layers to wordplay, I adore it all. like several other commentors said-it feels like those kinds of players are unable to appreciate a story that actually tries to be good, can't understand media even when it's being hand fed, and can't be assed to just listen to a video of someone who summarizes the stories/lore. I've got adhd and can only play genshin on my small phone, yet that doesn't stop me from looking unnecessarily deeply into every book and boss

What makes this worse is that Mihoyo spoonfeeds us info through the Archon quests with Paimon. I used to find it annoying how Paimon would regurgitate information that we just read but then I remember that this fandom can't even read.

I think I'd understand this guy's point of view if he's like a new or lapsed player or sth. Like maybe he feels overwhelmed by the breadth of content in the game (including limited event lore) and just wants to experience the game at his own pace. Like, fair enough, that's pretty much how I feel about HI3.
FOMO in gacha games is a terrible feeling and sadly it's a tool many developers abuse for player retention as part of their live-service model.
But here's the thing; nobody is forcing him lmao. The majority of story/lore content is already directly told to us in readily accessible Archon/Story/World Quests; everything else we find in books/artifacts/interactables/etc is purely supplementary and could be readdressed in future quests, most ppl don't actively search this stuff out.
And even if we've overlooked some of these details, we already have plenty of lore channels like you and event quest archives to thank for compiling all this stuff in a digestible and entertaining format! 😅

I think this person might be new-ish to the game and probably to lore videos. Once I was a young and stupid girl who clicked a lore video and made fun of it because I didn't understand what they were trying to do, I said they were looking too deep into it and it didn't make any sense. And even tho I started played on release, I was very inconsistent with the game, but ultimately, the story is what got me hooked and I started to understand what lore yt channels are about. Hopefully this person also comes to realize that every piece of text in the game, even the item descriptions, are important to the game story (even tho not 100% essential to understand the main plot).

Now, I completely understand why it is a problematic approach of story telling when hoyo puts the biggest lore dumps in nooks and cranies of the game. Even if you're a sucker for lore, it doesn't change the fact that it is a MASSIVE time sink to search for clues from the most hidden stuff in the game. As, it may as well be a wild goose chase and yield no results.
However I am probably one of the three people that exists in the player base who enjoy digging out stuff, kind of like real life history or archeology. I love the process of researching and seeing how other people research about it.

i think the person also needs to learn to differentiate lore from stroy, the main story is something the game actively encourgaes you to do as part of its advertised main content, while lore and worldbuilding is side content you can choose to engage with, its not necessary for you to learn the lore to enjoy the story, it never has been,

Honestly, to make it makes more sense that Jacob and Rene found the book Perinheri, after all, both of them were really interested in Khaenrian history, so it wouldn't be strange for any of them to try those rituals (Specially since their old orphanage because one of the bases of the Narzissenkreuz Ordo, maybe it was an alternative plan to do "Neo humans").
I say this because to me it seems impossible for Arlecchino's past to be conected to Pierro in any way, especially for how connected she seems with Rene's experiments.

The next step is not care about characters, QoL of the game, and neither to gameplay.

Probably if you have a cracked Atk% stats on artifact it could really well-compliment having Furina over Bennett but you can use Bennett and Furina on the same team. Just be mindful of your ER.

I fully expect Arlecchino to be in Furina's 2nd story quest. That will most likely be where the big lore heavy stuff about her happens maybe. Maybe not, but maybe. And then her story quest is most likely gonna be about the orphans and stuff like you said.

Also!! I'm very into world building and creating stories, adding things like books or npcs that drop little gems of info creates a world with so much more depth. You are the Traveler, experiencing this world for the first time and learning about it with your chosen Outlander. That is great depth to have history books and legends and rumors just laying around for you to find when we won't actually see the results til way later.

And the connections to culture and mythology, the queer coding, the characters, god I love this game. The world building is my main reason for playing even after completing every archon/story quest up to this patch. There's just so much to do, so much to talk about, and my brain is very happy to be satiated with so much to think about in just one game. I don't think I've ever enjoyed exploring nearly as much as I have in Genshin. Can't wait to see what's next!! (hopefully Dornman Port because I'm losing it without Mondstadt content over here)

I do hope Arlecchino is not related to Khaenri'ah because while that would be cool, yes, it would take away from from the HoH and Arlecchino herself. Khaenri'ah stuff is so important, it instantly becomes the main focus of the story. It would be cool if it had some minor connection like if HoH was inspired by that orphanage or something.

Yes they are, Nahida said so herself and even showed us how with scaramouche. Plus the hexenzirkal's also writes books. And Venti uses allegorical meanings in his songs to persevere irminsuls erosion.
It's not impossible that Arlecchino is Perinheri but I think they'd avoid a harbinger that's 4000+ years old unless it was necessary as with Columbina for example. But maybe we're just getting to the point where the remaining harbingers are all older than Pierro? Or they might pull a switch and make Pierro himself super old instead of just 500. I think we'll be fine with a 500 year old Arlecchino.

Dismissing all the lore outside of The Archon Quests is so stupid. That's exactly where THE WORLD BUILDING of Teyvat happens. The Archon Quests are very limited in scope and show only a tiny fraction, a singular gear of the whole clockwerk mechanism (that is made up of innumerable small and big gear pieces alike) that is Teyvat. Seemingly inconsequential world quests like the Aranara saga, the Narzissenkreutz questline, the Jeht & her dad quests in the desert, THE DAINSLEIF YEARLY QUESTS provide so much flavor, so much context to everything that its crazy. Looking at just the Archon Quests as lore is like looking at only 1 tree in particular and missing the rest of the forest around you.
Kiddo (I refuse to acknowledge that as a fully developed human being) is probably frustrated by how intricate (and convoluted) the story of Genshin Impact is, and how slowly it is progressing. The way they present things DOES leave a lot to be desired, Genshin very much suffers from TELLING its story to the player, instead of SHOWING it, always learning of events from second-hand accounts and unreliable narrators all over and Paimon asking the obvious questions so no one gets left behind... but the world building is there. You just have to look for it, and listen/read.
I bet the manchild also compains about Elden Ring or DkS 1-3 stories being told through item descriptions & environment...

There could well be all sorts of orphan's from the Khaenrian orphanage that are still wandering around in the world today 500 years after it's fall, especially since they're from other dimensions/worlds their lifepans and races could be wildly different.
Given alechinno's very unique eyes it's possible she is one of these otherwordly orphans, even if she says she's from fontaine that could just be the place she went to after khaenriah fell and spent 500 years there so she cares about it as if it's her real home. Skirk could be one of these orphans also, that went into the abyss after the fall and was found my surtologi. We'll have to see.
Alice mentiones that she and Klee are a long lived race, maybe it's Alice's origin story to??? Or at least something along the lines of being from another world. Pulcinella also shares the pointy ears.
Ye i don't understand why genshin devs decide to put all the hype lore and story into books, artefact or weapon descriptions. I get it that there needs to be world building etc. But can't they just use this exact description and add it into quests? I'm not playing the game anymore cause of the poor story-telling, and I'm glad there are content creators that cover the lore and story in an easy to understand and interesting way.
They need to run a business of selling characters thats why it's somewhat disney-esque to me minus the pay-off as the story isn't done yet. They're hinting these information via those means you mentioned but some of these are actually being brought up waaay later as confirmation and as part of the actual story. They might need to formulate these stories still even though "they finished writing in advanced." - hence the need to delay pay off and maybe gather the targetted audiences' reactions first. With a tight schedule, this is something that I actually expect and not fault them for tbf to them - writing isnt as easy as people may think it to be especially with the world building they chose to, well, build. Their story writers are walking on eggshells at this point.
havent read this book yet, but my current theory is that she is the Red Queen from the Narcissenkreuz, mainly because the red queen took care of the children there, tries to save fontaine, and her having features similar to caterpillars human form, namely the blackened hands and the shineless eyes
Hey mister youtuber, i've been binging your videos these last few days as i've been in the mood for genshin lore and there this thing i noticed in relation to the perinheri book.
the book talks about the The crimson moon being actually a titanic eye.
This is not the first we see mention of this, remember the weird hollow moon tapestry from tsurumi you talked about last month? sure as heck looks like an Eye after reading Perinheri.

The commenter obviously behaved like a douche, BUT I think that the way lore is written in game encourages people to not care about non archon quest-related content. Very little of what we can find in descriptions and books ever gets brought up by the actual story, making tons of people think it doesn't matter.
Making the lore and the story feel more connected would help, mainly because a lot of people (not only the commenter) are under the impression that the only content that actually matters is the one that is voiced, while everything that exists in written form is just for those that like to overthink.
Now, talking about overthinking (this is unrelated to the video), I think you are overthinking Arlecchino's story: as they did with Scaramouche, I think they'll take away Arlecchino's agency in her story and make her a consequence of Dottore's experiment.
"They are evil because they got manipulated/created to act like that" seems how the writers like to justify antagonist-like characters to join our roster. Dottore probably tried to re-create the experiments of the old dynasty, and did so via the previous owner of the house of the hearth, who arlecchino killed to get revenge on how she was transformed/tortured... and badabim badabum, she was a good guy all along and just a victim of other's actions instead of a gray character.
Also, the idea of arlecchino being centuries old just feels wrong: it creates more answers than what it answers.
It makes no sense for her to have only acted now if she was a witness of the abuse perpetuated by the old owner of the orphanage... As it makes little sense for child slavery (Lyney and Lynette's backstory) to exist in Fontaine if she was active in Fontaine for eons.
Also, her hands being black probably have nothing to do with caterpillar, and are just a consequence of her trying to climb her way out of a "chimney full of dust and coal"... This is my opinion tho
Scaramouche was never and is still not considered a "good guy" or was redeemed even. At the end of the interlude, Traveler Nahida and he himself acknowledges, that he is still to blame for his actions even if the victims don't remember him. Nahida says to him, before giving all his memories back, that if he accepts his previous self to be him, then he is also evil as that self was. And after that, Wanderer tells us, if the succesors of his victims want to seek justice for that, even ending him, he'll gladly accept it.
It wasn't even his own story quest. Nahida actually kinda forces him to stay there, as long as they both benefit from each other. Traveler now understands he has good in him, but is still warry of him, even in the Darshan competition event, but is not considered actuall "good guy" like the rest of their friends, same as Childe, and probably Arlechino later. This is a morally grey character. They werent suppose to be pure evil to begin with, only Dottorre probably.

Reading the lore for me is good but since I'm playing on mobile I spend it most of the time playing the game. This is the reason why I watch these kinds of videos and appreciate them. Sometimes there are points taken from a little comment.

What makes the most sense is that the four Knights that are mentioned in Perinheri (Alf, Njord, Perinheri and Alberich) are in fact the main figures of the Khaenri'ahn war. Njord is maybe Gold's husband or father? They say he walks with the (rifthounds) so he is from the Alchemy dpt, and Njord is the god that began the descendance of Freya, plus, Gold is also called Rhinedottir, as to imply she is important as the daughter of someone(dottir means daughter), so Njord is probably the initiator of Gold's dynasty. Alf is still unknown to me but what we can deduce is that:
-the Universitas Magistrorum could be an institute not from Khaenri'ah, but rather something from maybe Remuria? I say this because traditionally, people that came out of Universitas Magistrorum et scholarum in the real world did NOT teach in that same building but rather they wandered in the country or in other countries in search of a private family or an institution to teach in.
-Alf comes from the legend of Alf and Alfhild, BUT what's superduper important about them is that they end up generating a daughter(or a niece, i don't remember) that marries a man called HALFDAN. So yeah, Halfdan's parents-in law or grand parents-in law.
We know about Alberich.
Honestly, I think Perinheri is a foreshadow of Capitano, for a few reasons:
The book says the orphanage hosts people that came from outside Khaenri'ah, and we know the Bloodstained Knight is ah outsider that ends up fighting for a distand land (which is 80% possible it's Khaenri'ah). At the same time, at the end of the tale he gets told that he has no curse on him, meaning that he didn't betray any god. So, contrarily to Hleobrandt, he is not an Hilichurl and doesn't have the curse of the wilderness on him. That or simple gender dysphoria. I say Hleobrandt because Perinheri is called "the Undefeated" which sounds a lot like what Scaramouche says about Capitano ( "The ever-righteous Captain," "the brave and fearless Captain," "the nigh-invincible Captain"... Btw, this whole story is taken from the Chanson de geste(specifically the Chanson de Roland written around the second half of the XI century AD), a mythological cycle of christian stories featuring two rivals called Roland and Rinaldo, and the one that gets mad in the Orlando innamorato and later in the Orlando Furioso (both from italian authors respectively written in 1495 and 1516 ) is Roland himself. Incidentally, Roland also has an alternative name, Hruodlandus, which is reminiscent of the writing of Hleobrandt and comes from protogermanic, maybe.
Now, the original story of the orlando innamorato goes like that: Orlando(Roland) and Rinaldo are warriors and cousins during the war against the muslims and they get to the middle east in which Orlando falls in love with the Catai princess, Angelica, while Rinaldo, worried for his cousin but doesn't feel anything. She then promises to marry the man who will defeat her brother, and a third knight, Astolfo, manages to do it. She doesn't want to marry him, so in the end she runs away and the two cousins decide to pursue her into the magic woods in which a witch lives.In the woods, Rinaldo drinks from a spring that makes him hate Angelica, and then falls asleep. Angelica drinks from the opposite side of the spring and instantly falls in love with Rinaldo. She basically tries to assault him and he escapes.Then the story goes on, but Angelica drinks at another fountain that makes her hate Rinaldo while he falls in love with her and Orlando and Rinaldo end up fighting. She runs away again, and in the Orlando Furioso, amidst the two contenders and the fights they do, she runs once again in a magical woods, in which she falls in love with a man named Medoro (a muslim prince, if I remember correctly) and at the end of the book she doesn't marry Roland nor Rinaldo but Medoro. Consequently, Roland goes mad and Astolfo flies on the moon to retrieve his sanity. While Roland goes mad, Rinaldo just kinda disappears in the background. So yeah, Roland is probably Hleobrandt, while Perinheri is Rinaldo, the more composed fighter.

I've seen afew comments with the same idea in mind, in Ashikai I seen someone write a shorter version of that guys sentiment, they don't consider the books relivant. Why I think they say this is because they want to know more but resent the effort they have to do which is reading. And as you know reading is the enemy of the majority of the Genshin players (I feel sorry for the writers putting in so much effort...).

You do understand that person is a minor yes? Be very careful to not hang out people online. The story of Genshin requires a fundamental understanding of philosophy, society, history . The reason why people do not feel like there is a story is because you need a lot of pre knowledge and apply it to the game. What they are trying to convey to you is that this form of story telling is to advanced, and you should not shame people because they say that. Many people feel this, while that does not necessarily apply to me it is a valid opinion to have. The presentation of the opinion could use some work, sure, I agree with that, but don't belittle people. Instead explain that they tell short stories about random people from the past to EXPLAIN the society in which Theyvat takes place it's culture to finally explain the cut scene in the beginning. This is almost like art because they do it in reverse. The ending was the beginning and the explaining comes at the end.
If you opened up a book and started reading it backwards, things would be hard to understand as well that is the best analogy I have.
Not that I agree with the commenter but genshin does a pretty shitty job keeping everything relevantly tied together between these drip fed content drops. It's easy to think that nothing matters as far trying to follow the mainline quests. Having some revisiting recap type content would definitely open some perspective to lore that some people may have forgotten about or have missed entirely. Without ur lore & theory content I'd probably dangling in the ether of idiocy like that guy.

4:40 Right, this is also my sacrifice as a "non" lore player (like, I genuinely play for the gameplay initially, but also for characters) I was pretty content with how they convey their stories at surface level? (I generally aware that they do this intentionally, keep dragging and save the great part at the end), but since I like this character (which seems like an endgame character) they'll make sure that I HAVE to wait. Probably after the seven nations even.
I can't do that, and the dailies getting unspeakably boring so, should I do it? Should I do the reading and see what's all the fuss about? I see people having fun digging lore (especially about their favs) and they did it, mind blowingly. And to be honest, (and I believe that they could do it better) what would be the right reason to show these impeccable lores right on to our faces? Of course they have make to it as discreet as possible! Otherwise I would never get the opportunity to have these big brain moments (a lot of times) to 'solve' these lores. Honestly, for me, it has been a very fun experience in and of itself to let your own interpretation actually get some of the hold to the actual intent of the story. it felt very rewarding if it was right, also for more surprises if you get the references right, and sometimes, the way you get to the understanding of some lore contexts, it's like you've done these stories on a right pace (subjectively). Right, and I know they're kinda botched here and there (that's why people think Inazuma is weird, and I think it's still kinda is) again, could be better, but, yeah. They'll do it on Honkai games rather than on Genshin it seems (unless we're already near endgame, so they can be more candid). See how people get mind blowed by Fontaine? Honestly, it's just another day of wondering why people make active decisions then complain as if they were forced to do so. Essentially stepped into your home, looked around, and decided your cookies were poisoned because of the way you decorated your house. In the beginning, the world was upright, with no firmamental barrier, only three "moons" rotating about this world. Only, these bodies were incubators of pure energy. The world below was ruled by pure elemental energy, and when combined, create Light energy. Then, a Demon from beyond the stars was cast from his Domain. Where his world was full of powerful beastial beings. Soon, he found this peaceful and tranquil world. But, this world manifests its reality from the elemental collective. Before the Demon entered, the world was pure elemental chaos. Elements would Swirl, and Freeze, and Melt, and Superconduct (as well as many others) in Reaction to their mixing together. As the Demon entered, his Will began influencing the world around him. Creatures, beasts, and beings from his Memory began to shape the world around him. Soon, the Seven most concentrated of the elements took form too, only they were more grand and greater than the other lifeforms. They took the shape of great and powerful Dragons, and were the Sovereigns of the world. And in the center of the world, sprouted an enormous "tree". But the stucture was actually pure knowledge, the manifestation of the History of this world. And, effectively, the collective consciousness of the world. All things flow into this Tree from top, and disperse back into the world. Creating a looping flow of energy via this Tree.
However, the Demon desired to rule this world, as High King, upon a Throne in the "Heavens". He would turn this world on its head, literally if he has to, in order to acomplish his goals. But first, to challenge the might of the Seven, he would need more forces. So he split himself into five seperate, but distinct parts. Each capable of enacting every one of his Heavenly Principles he would bestow upon the world, as its "savior". Soon, the greatest of the Sovereigns would come, to directly confront this Descender. He was the King of Sovereigns, but was unable to defeat the Demon and his manifestations, not with the knowledge of this world. And so delved beyond the darkest parts of the world, into an endless Sea, searching for new power. In the meantime, the Demon began waging war upon the Surface, whilst building his Throne in the realm below, within the world itself. Yet, the Will of the world is too strong, and channeled its Wish for a savior, into the incubators. Where it was sent beyond the stars.
Eventually, the Heavens responded, and sent someone to serve them. As such, the world carried a new Will, and began reshaping the world, giving rise to a new species, humans. But, these beings were also filled with the Will the Demon, taking on properties of both Descenders, as well as the capacity to manipulate the elements. In the eyes of the Demon, these were subjects to rule over, subjects who could help maintain his sense of order upon this chaotic world. But the world had its own Order, Ruled by the Sovereigns. Both sides had learned of the second who came, yet, it was the Demon who was able to convince her to join his side. She would serve to uphold his grand laws. Together, they were nigh unstoppable, toppling the world as the Demon professed. And so, the world wished again, but this time, for one who could, not for another savior, but a protector. One who could contain this external threat.
Soon, a Third Descender came, and served the Will of the world, helping to establish settlements for the primordial humans. Yet, the Demon King, and his new queen, would eventually break the Will of the Sovereigns. Missing their King, they had no idea what to do, and so, gave in. Since the Sovereigns, as well as the Descenders, cannot be outright killed, each was striped of their Authority. Except for the Third, he was broken down, and used to contain the Authorities. Of which, the Seven strongest, and most willing to "serve humanity" as its source of Ambition, were bestowed the Authorities, and given Nations to rule, as Archons. As well, each Archon was given a Demon name, to be represent their respective nation.

I am GUARANTEED to get direct references wrong, but this is what I understand of this "thing". Am I ENTIRELY wrong, as you so arrogantly imply?? Few are direct historical takes of the NEW world, and MOST are just random "feel good" story. But ANY regarding the OLD world, are withheld to allegorical interpretations. Because of the World Tree, he is capable of writing, and re-writing "History" to his liking. Which is WHY Zhongli tasked the Traveler with being the Record Keeper of this world. The "Erosion" he refers to, is "deleted" memory done by the "Demon King". And the Sovereigns are sworn by their upmost loyalty as Dragons, to the "Demon King" (because Asia, Dragons, protector Deities), to never reveal the Truth of this World. Likely through blackmail, absolute destruction (for killing a Sovereign, since its HEAVILY implied they "hold" the world "together"), or other means of manipulation. MANY of those books are JUST for learning about the world itself, NOT for the relevance of the Traveler, and NOT for stopping the Fatui and the Harbingers. They are NOT needed in order to complete the game. They are NOT needed in order to understand the main story. They are not REQUIRED to beat the game. So WHY should I care about them?? WHY is your RUclipsr baby DEMANDING we "read the books for ourselves", if he's "here to explain the lore". You lot have your heads so twisted with nonsense theories and ideas of granduer, you lost yourselves to the madness behind it. Pull your heads out your azzes. As someone who wants to read the book but plays on PS5 which makes the books extremely fucking hard to see, i extremely appreciate content creators like yourself, who read the books and summarize them for me since I can’t freaking see them. I honestly think they hide the lore in books for those people like the chud commenting on your video about how it hates books. They are the people with the attention of gnats that wouldn’t be able to understand the story if the lore was all added to quests and would incessantly bitch about how the game was too hard to understand. If you look at HI3 it’s extremely story and information heavy, with many of the relevant plot lines being told through different mediums like manga or animated shorts. It tends to gatekeep who plays the game, because again, the people with short attention spans quit because it’s too hard to understand because they refuse to read/watch the accompanying references. I think Mihoyo decided not to gatekeep Genshin, so appealed to the low information players, but they still wanted to add the lore so they added it in books, artifacts, world quests, and weapons.
