- It's that time of the year and Hoyoverse are once again cranking up the quality AND quantity of Lore Drops in Genshin Impact. I want to share my initial thoughts and reaction to her Animated Short, "The Song Burning in the Embers", and discuss a number of potentially interesting details which caught my attention.

21:00 I kinda have an idea of what is going on here. Arlecchino summons several faries that resemble the Pari in their appearance during her boss fight. The Pari were born (partially at least) from Nabu Malikata who was Amun's Seelie lover and the 'Goddess' of Flowers. At the start of the video, I mention how Blue Fire is related to Seelies so these special children could be connected to that. This does NOT necessarily mean that they are Seelies.
I wish I said this in the video itself but whatever.
but her Pari has no face, more like a Hillichurl. Is it possible that she is supposed to represent Lilith? This is a bit out there but Cater tells a story about a girl that stole a flower in garden. Now seeing this trailer and that flowers are connected to the orphanage just increases my suspicions about this story. There is also the fact that Cater is duelling Arlecchino so there has to be a connection.
arlecchino can't be 400, she is normal human but cursed. she's mid/late 20s.
why? bc freminet backstory clearly told us he joined the house when the old knave still the leader and has bad memories about her, how he and the other children were treated back then.

yes unless we do a copium theory and say that Arle was not aging like Cater and stayed as a child until recently where she started to grow up normally for some reason

Not only that, there were the fatui in Inazuma who were still loyal to the previous knave who existed to the present time.
If arlecchino k*lled the previous knave around 390 something years ago the kids who were raised by the previous knave shouldn't be alive long enough for the traveller to meet them.

It seems like her arms become darker when she is around death (the spider funeral and the dead flowers).
Yeah the curse seems to activate around death, not specifically killing which is interesting, because she was beside the dying flowers it spread but it didn't appear to grow as she stabbed her friend. Maybe she absorbs the essence of things that die naturally?
In the in-game description the Lumidus Bells flowers represent departing and the desire to reunite/meet again. So seeing them wilted means there will be NO reuniting.
And the girl knave was „roommates” with had a necklace with this flower, so I think in the scene with Mother it was more representative of her. And there were 3 19:59 bells on the stem so we can assume it was to represent arlechino her friend and the knave. Also at the scene where battle took place were a lot of flowers in the foreground and the whole building went down by the arlechinos hand sooo for me it represents the deaths of children

Freminet was already in the orphanage at the change of director ; may-be he was 7 at the time, and now is 19 years old.

Just a small detail, but I don't think the lumidouce bells in the arena are representing all the children, rather just the pink haired girl that also appeared in the 4.6 livestream, because the girl was shown to wear one as necklace in 4:46 and basically every time she was shown as a child.

The blonde girl with bulle fruit made me think this story is indeed somehow linked to the princess Marcotte as theories say. How every plant had a kingdom in the tale and here we have girl with bulle fruit and mother + daughter with lumidouce bell. Seems like some king of parallel, there must be some connection! Also maybe those kids with plant items are possible King candidates? As not all kids has those items.
I should add that I doubt the small boy at the end is not Freminet or the magic siblings Lyney or Lynette as all three have blue colored eyes and that child has yellow/gold/amber eyes. If there star rail adventurin material is to act as a standard they would not change a characters eye color between child and adult unless its part of there background story.

Yep, to me this animation basically confirmed all my speculations:
1_Arlecchino is *not* a long life being like Signora/Pierro/etc. It's highly probably that she is between 30 to 40 years old *at most*, if not even younger.
2_The orphanage from where Arlecchino comes *is* from Fontaine, all those theories saying she was directly tied to Khaenriah never made any sense to begin with.
3_She is *not* a being like Caterpillar (Related to Hilichurls), the only logical relation between the two is that the black hands are due to over exposure to energy from the abyss (After all "Mother" clearly experimented with the children).
4_The orphanage that is the current House of the Hearth is probably the same place where the Narzissenkreuz Ordo did they cult like stuff, which would explain all the ties to Khaenriah in a logical way (Rene was obsesed with Khaenriah)
Basically, yes, this was peak cinema.

She's more likely in her late or even mid 20s than over 500 ( she's probably only about a few years older than Childe)
Freminet was a member of the house of hearth under the previous Knave before Arlecchino took over that would mean that Freminet would also be 400 + if that was the case

@AndrewsMobs He was too young. The ones that were chosen to fight for the "king" position seem to all be in the same age range. This happened around 10 years ago. The girls that were fighting seem to be a minimum of 14/15/16 age range.
Arlecchino only destroyed one building.
This short really follows genshin overall theme.
Breaking the cycle.
Given how the overworld shows us basicly the failures of the last cycles,we as the players currently do everything to stop the repeat of history.
So does arlecchino with her own cycle od knave killing,she is probs trying to setup the trio(lyney,lynette,fremi)up to be the new leaders of the house of hearth
Dottore is not present at the “welcome party” for arlecchino and we know that he was a harbinger before scaramouch (it was dottore that tricked him) so we can’t say how old arlecchino is based of the harbinger’s presence. Some might be occupied elsewhere
Also I don’t think Arlecchino is going to have much of a relationship to Columbina.
The genshin characters are the opposite of the comedia characters in notable ways. Like Signora being ultra-loyal to her lover instead of being a cheater like in the comedia. Or Capitano actually being strong, instead of being a weakling who just boasts that he’s strong like in the comedia.
So she likely won’t have as much to do with Columbina as people like to assume. They may even hate each other. Though it’s a bit soon to theorize on that rn.
This reminded me a lot of the beautiful animation shorts Hoyoverse has been making for Honkai Star Rail. I really hope we get more shorts like these in the future to better flesh out the character's backstories or how they interact with one another (mainly thinking of that one Acheron and Black Swan short and how much that did to flesh out their characters and imply a relationship)

Arlecchino is not 400 years old. Freminet was alive when the previous knave was alive. And Freminet is no older than like 16 or 18.
Also Scaramouche has been a part of the Fatui since a long time ago. That doesn’t mean he joined at the same time as Arlecchino. Nowhere is that implied.
Arlecchino was likely 16 or so during this cutscene and it’s been like another 10-15 years at most since this happened. So she’s 30 at most in the current story.
bro can probably cook up an hourlong video about the symbolism of some random dust on Arlecchino's sleeves
3:00 Is it possible that the House of the Hearth is some sort of replica of the orphanage in Perenheri? Maybe because the people of Fontane are inherently oceanids the Futui confused them as outlanders for having extra elemental energy

Is it just me who see random references to Made in Abyss?
Like... plush toys of Peruere and Clervie look similar to Nanachi and Mitty, and like in the manga one of them die so second can live. Peruere do a funeral at the beginning - something that Nanachi used to do a lot. Clervie have a necklace that look like a bell. Nanachi broke free from control of her "father" as well as is know to ber course of the abyss. Beyond that the entire orphanage thing also match
Unrelated but in the preview for Remuria's puzzles one of the gifs showing the interaction with the dragon confirms that it Is Scylla so now I can't wait for your Zhongli video

I noticed that the flowers the mother holds the girl with the pink hair was wearing on her necklace. That’s why arlecchino smiles when she sees the flowers at the end.

its interesting that the 2 "special" girls we focus on are wearing Bulle Fruit and Lumidouce Bell, Lumine is also wearing a flower, could this be a clue to Lumines origins?
Also when Arlecchino says "you must know spiders don't eat cake" is she implying that she is an actual spider?

I think when Mother says 'I should have pruned this flower long ago' about the dead Lumiduce Bells, those represent Arlecchino. Then when she's thrown against the wall and the dead flower is sitting there surrounded by beautiful, living flowers, that's the orphanage with her amongst the other children.

It represents her friend more, the little girl has the Lumidouce Bell flower as a necklace. I think the kindness she speaks of is their friendship.
Red Haired girl looks a lot like she could be Mother’s real daughter, and has a necklace of the same flower she has in her pot

Although I need to point out that it's not possible the child at the end is Freminet. The eyes and the hair colour are different and what Pierro says at the end, those are the Tsaritsa's word: if you enable the captions in their video you can see the "... " meaning that he's reading those words. 🥰

The girl with the reddish hair (the one that said Arlecchino will be a great king and brought cake for the spider) wore those lumidiuse bell flowers as a necklace. So when the previous Knave said she should have gotten ridden of those flowers sooner she was rubbing salt in Arlecchino's wound after losing her friend.. Kind of makes you understand wjy she chose to be Father, when Mother was a complete monster!

Abt the lumidouce bells, in lyney story quest charlotte says they allude to "separations" as oposed to rainbow roses which represent "passion". The pink haired girl uses a lumidouce bell as a pendant, so maybe they represent her somehow? Or it was a form of foreshadowing for the moment arlecchino and her would confront one another. I belive that when "mother" says that she sould have pruned the flower long ago she must be refering to the pink haired girl. Personally i speculate that arlecchino and the girl were very good friends, and their friendship ruined "morther's" plan for arlecchino. On another note arlecchinos materials are rainbow roses, which charlotte uses as an oposite to lumidouce bells. Maybe there is some symbolism in there idk
The blue flower represents the necklace the red hair girl has for me, and not all the children.
Also Arlechinno can already wield pyro despite not having a vision, I guess it's her curser enabling this, but then what is it and where does she comes from (Teyvat even?)

I think all the children are cursed in various ways there, and our current knave had Kahn’rehen blood which led to the hillichurl-like curse effects. Not to mention her kit leaks imply she basically hurts hurself and heals the damage, but only _she_ can do that. Only she can push back the effects of her curse? Only she can hold off hillichurlization…. _ooh the possibilities_

I haven't noticed anyone talk about it but as Arlecchino walks up the stairs it cuts to the kids bedroom with toys laying on the floor, a needle is right in front of the camera, its separate from the medical equipment thats in all other shots. 16:48 ish btw. I was wondering if said needle was actually used to make some of the kids fight such as the red haired girl? In the earlier part of the story with the book you see a half dead toy, could that be Dottore or is that a coincidence?
I can wait to see how the zhongli video finally ends up, its not like its been in the works for at least half a year? on another note since im so exited for arlecchino's release yall get to hear my ramblings
I think all the stuff going into arlecchino's release is hinting toward the tales of a snow winged goose being very important. We've already seen the fatui specifically hide history in stories in the wanderers story quest, and even in this animated short they are sharing ideologies through the media of fairytales. The tales of a show winged goose was espicially loved by freminet a kid from the house of the hearth and was even in the house under the old director(character stories 4 and 5). that book includes weird details with the sea of stars and creatures coming from the stars, as well as a story that seems weirdly similar to the traveler and paimon/abyss sibling and dainsleif. On that note i think the story of princess Marcotte is a summary of arlecchino's life, where the princess is the red haired girl and the king is the previous knave(I heard that in the original Chinese the red haired girl is the pervious knave's biological daughter but that could be wrong). This would make arlecchino the crab claw (this fits because the lore of the emperor of fie and iron has a similar story of becoming a "king" by killing all its adversaries) and while im not sure what the golden box or the mirror represent, i think the Pluie queen is the tsarista and her kingdom/ lake is the fatui. I also think it is very intentional how the princess is describe as a seed that will never grow, not unlike a kid that will never grow up due to their death. the end of the story also only describes a crab claw boat and not a princess sooooo she is very dead.
So TLDR i think this story is describing how the previous knave, upset that her daughter did not want to grow up like her and that the knave was trying to protect her innocence and kindness, set them up for failure by giving them an impossible task, which lead to the previous knave's death, and arleicchinos induction into the harbingers
i still dont know how all of it fits together because my brain likes finding concepts but not putting them together so if anyone has other ideas on these stories please share lol

Oh man... all this Arlecchino thing (may or may not) rightfully complement chains of my theories and some people's theories I've thought about. I don't know if I want to write it all down here or wait for your next video, this is so exciting, I can't wait for 4.6
Basically, it's all related to elemental energy/energy. If you watch Ashikai video about the possibility of the identity of the pink haired girl, she might be a reference to Princess Marcotte (or Princess Marcotte is a reference to her) I mean, there's a parallel, and it's quite fit. But beyond that, what interest me is because she said that Arle is like a vampire and then she linked it to the 'bond of life' mechanic (I had opinion on this before, with vision) and in Princess Marcotte story (Tales of a Snow-Winged Goose) she was referred to as a seed, who born from a crab claw. Now, I don't know about people but if there's a parallel, I think Genshin would go around it with their 'technicality'. So, I think the crab may really be Arlecchino (for that story).
It's vision. I think the seed is about vision. Arlecchino's wings and omnipresent statue's wings. Also the game keep talking about flowers and Princess Marcotte is a seed of a flower. Flower = Human (remember The Sinner scene). The intro from that animation is about fire that turns into flowers that grown, from what it looks like, the primordial sea, which is just like the Inteyvat flower field from Teyvat Chapter: Travail video.
There's more to it, I'm not 100% sure if vision could be used as resurrection (Scaramouche might imply that the 'heart' is the key to it?) but I'm onto there. Also I think every human is a hilichurl inside, and hilichurls have bunny ears, and I don't know if I would take the kids depiction as bunnies in that animation into this 🤔
Clervie's necklace also looks like a lumidouce flower. If you read the flower description, it might fit with her.

previous Knave seems to be inspired by Hi3rd Cocolia. Cocolia was called "Matushka" by her children and Crucabena uses the title "Mother". It's very interesting because it might mean she was experimenting on them to make them stronger just like Cocolia, we see syringes laying around in the animation. Cocolia was known for experimenting on her children to ensure their survival in the future, Crucabena however seems to think it's battle royale 😭😭

So the not a spider argument is more her boss form has 6 legs, and she has 4 of her own limbs, so 10, not 8. In reality, though, spiders have 8 legs and 2 pedipalps, used like arms to grab and hold their prey to bite them. So, she has 6 spider legs, 2 human (?) legs, and 2 arms which fits!
Have you noticed the flower on the necklace the little pink haired girl is wearing seems to be the same kind of flower that wilting when Mother and Arle are fighting?
Also, and I am unsure about this one, I thought somewhere in Freminets story it was mentioned that he witnessed the previous knave? Would that mean it is impossible that the litte boy in the end of the video is him and also that he is somehow incredibly old as well?

Seems to me that her mother is abusing her, not that she's bloodletting.
Peruere's dialogue mixed with the lumidouce symbolism and the line Crucabena says while holding a wilted lumidouce flower later on seems to imply as much..
The original CN implies that Crucabena is Clervie's biological mother, so there's probably some weird extra layer of grooming/expectations that went on between them.

No, it's her wings and her scythe. Her legs don't count because then you have to count her arms and it no longer makes sense.

@@F1ll1nTh3Blanks Spiders have legs and "arms". The appendages by their head are called "pedipalp" it's what they use to touch and feel, so it really makes perfect sense to count her human legs because her arms are the pedipalp.
My Theory is that more you are looking into ALICE powerful she becomes more people know her and she got more famous she will become also stronger

Arlecchino's timeline is weird. The units in 26:22 are old fossils to be sure... which supports Arlecchino being centuries old herself and having powers that can resist Irminsul tampering. But then what about the Inazuma fortune slip quest?
I thought the current Arlecchino identity is made by hoyo so that she wouldn't seem too pure of an evil character (wolf in sheeps clothing and/or questionable morals, sure but at least she wouldn't be evil for the sake of being evil)
