Ray Brown (bass), Joe “Bebop” Carroll (voc.), Kenny Clarke (drums), Dizzie Gillespie (voc., tr.), Al Haigh (piano), Milt Jackson (vib.), James Moody( tr), Sarah Vaughan (voc.),
I've been listening to these folks since 1961 then my dad bought me Paul Ankus and Elvis crap hoping to inspire me: it didn't work. Jazz, that's the music. WE vets. We could shit a BETTER president than Biden or his up and commer Harris.
it sounds like theyre just making sounds up and selling it to the audience REALLY well. Im actually laughing in tears because it sounds so good but at the same time it sounds like theyre just being so silly with each other on stage. Just a lil hang out with friends and not a performance 🤣🤣 I saw them all hold back laughter a few times and also them trying to outdo each other in silliness
Any performance with The Divine One in it is worth its while. This, with that superlative rhythm section on top, is a treat.
This is what i showed my kids telling them m this is how people talked back in the day instead of saying all the current slang..

When God made Diz, he broke the mold.
Love this!!!
Amazing!
James Moody was a monster scatter too...he didn't get his 8 bars here, but everyone did just fine.

No. It's "for" -- the lyric is "for you my gal I'd do most anything."
He's just pronouncing it like "fa you my love"

those people are hurting their hands by clapping so hard, and yet it's not enough, they should clap their feet too
