Can these go bad from sitting? Im getting fuel through the clear filter so the pump is ok. Still wont start. This machine has less than 4 hours on it but it has been sitting. I changed the fuel (after cranking it a bit) thats when I changed the fuel filter. Kohler 37hp EFI 2022 model.

Just because you are getting fuel to the filter doesn't mean the fpm is good.the efi units have 2 fuel pumps. There is a small pulse pump that picks up from the tank and goes to your fuel filter after that it's goes to the fpm(fuel pump module). The fpm steps up the pressure for the injectors. the fpm has a nonserviceable mesh screen filter and fuel pump internally. Before you replace it. There is a 2 prong plug that is yellow on top of the fpm you should have 12volts to it at all time with the key on.you can usually hear it buzz a little. I would check that and all fuses. There are several on the side of the engine one of those goes to the fpm I had one last week wouldn't run and all it was the fuse on the side of the engine was blown. Also make sure all your fuses and relays have good connections. Good connection on the battery and a good ground. The main thing is you need 12v going to the pump with the key on for it to work. I hope this helps if you have any other questions I will try to help. Good luck!
