- Welp, @LiamVickersAnimation sure dropped a bombshell on us with the whole "V's sacrifice" thing, didn't he? To help me figure out what that means for our favorite killer robot show, I figured I'd enlist two of my fellow raving lunatics, @unhelpfulcommentary and @vanitymoth! Oh, did I forget to mention that this was part of a three-way collab?

Fun Fact: When we did the recording for this video it was 7pm for UnCom, 7am for me, and 4am for Vanity! I also finished editing this video at 5am! Life is pain! Anyways, the other two also got videos out of it, so why not check em out? UnCom has one about Nori's backstory and Vanity has one trying to figure out what the next two episodes are gonna look like.

I feel like if they do bring her back, they need to change things up with her, in a way where she reacts to situations differently, where ether that's either physically or mentally, otherwise when the next episode comes out, it will just be an ending that ultimately amounts to nothing.
Im not gonna lie, based on the other's reaction to her sacrifice (especially N) it seems like they aren't afraid of her ACTUALLY permamently dying.
As N said "We need you" he probably meant "We need you here" as in they need her to be able to progress through Cabin Fever labs. They probably know she will be back, but they need her RIGHT NOW.
Yeah as you saw the other murder drone... I don't know if it's true but could be but the body is just left there.😅

For me, It was worth every penny.
Got to agree with this video, I think they originally had a lot more planned for V and several other characters but they either realised they didn't have enough time or decided to focus the show more on Uzi and N exclusively. The way each character acted in the pilot compared to how they acted in the rest of the series indicated to me at least. that MD was originally going to have a much different plot.
Yeah, the pilot's always felt like a different show. Thad, Khan, and most of the other side characters dropped off the face of the Earth, the entire premise of the Murder Drones hunting the Worker Drones was just forgotten about, and the entire tone of the show just feels different. I do like the story they're going with now, but I think a lot about what the show would be like if it stuck with the energy of the pilot.
@@Tyromaniac Yea, the pilot does feels more in Liam's usual style than the rest of the show.
MD reeks of a show that had a lot more organically planned but was cut down when the it came to the reality of bringing it all to life.
Either that, or Liam rewrote MDs script a bunch of times, not being entirely happy with each attempt as he has been known to do with some of his earlier works like Design and A cold love story. He stated that he kept rewriting them till they were something completely different to what they were originally.
I imagine in episode 7 they will unleash the solver from the lab and episode 8 will be them trying to stop it. With all our side characters brought back even if it is only to die horribly.
She trusts Uzi to take care of N.
She didn't care of Uzi directly, she cared of Uzi cause she was the one who could be there for N properly.
Fair enough, that's kinda what I was assuming but I didn't really put two and two together
@Tyromaniac it's noble if you ask me, cause she realised she can't love N how he needs to be loved even if she did love him. Uzi was capable to defend N as a person and show affection. Truth be told saying " I love you." Is nothing without actions.

I always thought V could've just "closed" her eyes and do a 360 degree spin while shooting the laser. Also N and Tessa could have provided covering fire
That's kinda what I thought too, but then again I'm not exactly an expert fighter so who am I to judge?
I've thought about it and thought up of a pretty unique way V could come back. If you remember Episode 5, Uzi is her and N's admin now instead of Cyn. So what if later down the series, once the AbsoluteSolver takes over Uzi's body, she's ejected into V's body (snake crab or not) and she uses it to fight. And once the fight ends V returns but is now Uzi's signature purple.
After that though I agree that V's character is pretty hard to continue.

The scene where V catches a bullet is literally a reference to CliffSide, it can’t even get more on the nose.

V had just got her memories back she might have been trying to process this side of her she had lost throughout the episode by the time the sacrifice happened she had most likely got done processing everything
I think V death wasnt that bad, because her character development happened... Almot offscreen but happened, the show is short so they have no time to clear those tings, but i think V had a reason, her worker life and romance was ruined by Cyn, Cyn makes her become a killing machine, and then... she accepts that she lost everything, she gives up about her romance, she put the psycho killer girl mask and them do the only thing she can, screw Cyns plans, the only thing she tried to do in the entire show, but when Uzi comes in and she is possesed by Cyn, V see herself in Uzi, just another robot that lost everything because of Cyn, thats why she sacrifices herself, or this is just me trying to make a bad plot a little bit better... If the show wasnt for a younger age and Liam had 100% freedom the show would be infinitely better, but its okay, those episodes arent cheap and glitch needs sell merch
Looking at it from that angle I think you're right, the biggest problem for me is that it feels like the show didn't spend enough time building any of that up. If they slowed down a little and gave us more character scenes to show that V felt that way, then I think that would've resolved a lot of the issues we talked about.
@@Tyromaniac half of the show happens offscreen, thats the price of high graphical quality episodes, too much to show in only 8 episodes having 20 minutes each... :/
True, with how much effort goes into the animation, lighting, all that good stuff, they're always gonna be on a time crunch to get episodes out on any sort of schedule. Still though, always fun to imagine the possibilities
@@Tyromaniac V’s sacrifice is an interesting case. Glitch probably gave Liam as much as they could 'room wise' for MD, and thus we got what we got, but I’ll take it. Liam clearly has a reason for him to take V out of the equation, gut wrenching as it is for many fans that actually resonate with her. I’d adore MD comics (drawn by Liam or not) that fill in certain gaps like glitch did with meta runner.
With J alive I can honestly imagine her 'taking V’s spot', something’s clearly going on that she of all people was confused about. Allows V’s death to land
I mean it's my opinion but V sacrifice filled unnecessary her dying was more frustrating than sad o Feel like Vanitymoth mekas really great point in why v should have fight back instead of letting herself get killed by f****** sentinels
Set murder drones power is really inconsistent not to mention they have if not tonnes of weapons that could be really helpful but they don't use it for some reason
MURDER DRONES have Blads, lasers, rocket launcher, machine guns, chainsaw hands, ninja star, blade wings, I have a hard time believing the Sentinels are even a threats to them what's stopping N or V from using their wings to fly and and fire on a locket launcher on them why is it in use the same weapon J used in EP1 even Alice used that Same weapon against them in the same episode and it helped me question what's the point of a sacrifice if she's going to come back it feels like forced writing
the real sacrifice was probably V's spot in the ongoing mission but even then, she couldve made it into the elevator.

I really liked this episode a lot, hope you three get to do more of them toghether. Kinda unfortunate there's timesone issues when it comes to it.
Yeah, I tried to keep everything somewhat balanced but it can be a little difficult with three people. Still though, not bad for our first big collab!
Taking all other problems of V's character aside, I think the only logical explenation of V's sacrifice is that they had to cut the elevator since panel got destoryed and dingos would get inside and if she tried to jump in time the red dingo blocking way would stall her for enough time. But yeah they wrote themself into a bit of a corner I think. Still curious how's it gonna end tho

Yeah, for an "opinion piece" (ranting) video, we did dedicate a lot more time to theorizing than I originally planned lol
In my opinion, I think I may have come up with a good way V could come come back while having her sacrifice be a contribution to both the characters and the story in itself
V could come back as her eldritch monster form (the same way J had in ep2 heartbeat). But instead of being friendly towards the group, she could start fighting uzi, N, and tessa, being corrupted by the absolute solver (This would give a glitch a way to implement a fight scene in the 7th episode, and would give some sort of mystery by hinting to what extent the absolute solver affects the murder drones.) N, being the very nice and caring boy that he is, could then try and turn V into an ally again by expressing how much he really cares for her, and possibly if he loves her (before the nuzi fans chop off my head at the guillotine, I must explain that this could be a very good way to further develop both V's and N's character. Even though she's gone through the extent of chopping N's head off, it could very much still be argued that everything she does is for the betterment of N. This hasn't really been evident enough to be 100% sure, but her sacrifice could be a major build-up to a climax of love and care for N if she does turn back. As for N, things would finally start becoming clear in his mind of what he wants instead of what everyone else wants. Since the start of the series, it seems like he's only been doing what is necessary to help others, but not to himself. And, of course, it could show how the solver can actually be diverted from possession, which could then hint to a possibility of curing uzi)
And then, after all of that, they could finally reach the ending of the season that glitch has planned out for them
Again, all of this is just based on what we know and is simply an idea of where the story could go for episode 7 to give V's sacrifice a purpose, build more character development in V and N, and to keep us guessing (if uzi could be cured if V turned, if uzi would have to die, could cyn possibly be turned since she's a main host, etc.)
Please don't publicly execute me for this very long and precise idea (specifically toxic nuzi shippers). It's all again simply an idea. I'd be happy either way if this is or isn't a reality, and it's just something that I came up with that the show could do to make a proper recovery for the blunt sacrifice. I have high hopes and am thrilled for the next episode to come out, and I really hope that glitch does something awesome that would fit the story best ^^
wow now that I think about it I actually like the idea by implement V into the a battle scene rather then the entire episode it could solve a lot of issue such as V won't be a "just there" character and give her a reason as to why she return and as you mention help aid both N and V character development with V slowly having flashback of every jealous and also cute moment that they had together and also make N feeling very clear to V that he cares about her or heck even love her while tessa is attacking her because effectively V is a absolute solver so tessa would try to kill V before N tells and make her remember why she brought them to the mansion why she cares about them and protect them back in the mansion and ask her do you really want to kill V the person he cared and after V return to the surface seeming to go to the surface and make her a body for V while tessa just drop her sword showing how much she had turn since she wants revenge on absolute solver and apologize to N of her action while attacking V and cheer tessa up (1/2)
but however the way you said she will turn back to normal would unlikely happen since we know the eldritch form must needed a body in order to return to normal so she might just look at N for a very long time and just leaves seems to go back to the basement to make a body while N and the others go explore the lab before confronting doll (2/2)
the main ways I've seen people say V will come back is 1: she will be brought back as a clone, and 2: V didn't actually die and she tamed the main red sentinel by bonding with it through their shared love of killing or something like that and have a army of the other sentinels as her minions, or 3: J saves her and they slowly make their way back to the main group
I haven't heard the 2nd or 3rd one, those would definitely be interesting to see
16:01 is really sad to me that V was a character put there with the only purpose off star figths, and never have they arc develop 😢... but at least, if she back in the end figth in a super obvious plot, i will feel epic, cus she was put in the series for that anyway

Oof. I was not expecting a 'we think V's death was dumb' circle jerk. I knew most people didn't like it, but all three hosts disliked every single aspect of it. Yikes. I might need to make a response video lol
I personally didn't think it was dumb, just that certain aspects of it could've been handled better. I can't really speak for the others but I think they would agree.

I heard each of you list aspects of V's death that you didn't like but I didn't hear anyone argue in defense of any aspect or writing decision. And I don't just say so arbitrarily. I have spicific things in mind that I would defend, personally.
I'd rather not type a whole essay out in a RUclips comment but I will be more specific if you insist.
Aside from just me, I know of another skilled commentator who's made a video about this. Hit up the guy who runs the "Camille's Harem" channel. He has some interesting thoughts.
Alright yeah, I can see how it come across that way then and I do apologize that it did. Since I didn't say it in the video I'll say it here, but I think they did a really good job with the presentation on V's death which did make it a lot more impactful. Also, the part about it not being as impactful as some of the other deaths Liam Vickers wrote could just be me being partially burned out on Murder Drones after making 6 videos about it. Either way I await your response video lol

Anyway, I wanted to say that it's super fair to feel burned out after making several videos on a certain topic. And I hope I wasn't to harsh in my critique. If I was, I apologize. I'm brand new to video making, and you're one of the biggest reasons I've been inspired recently, so I'd hate to be rude to you. i think it would have been a better cliff hanger if V got in the elevator then the sentinels cut the elevator cable ad the episode ended with all of them screaming as the elevator falls
something we all need to remember is them sentinels are designed to kill murder drones
the flash is super op and one hit and v is bootlooped
there were 5 surrounding her and
1 it takes time to charge the lazor
2 its much easier to dodge bullets and lazors if the parson firing it was not looking where there firing
3 the flash is super op and v knew if n got bootlooped because he was distracted by her fighting then a few of em could jump in the elevator and kill em all
4 the elevator was rising so someone had to cut the rope from the outside and v knew that

i think the tragedy is mostly from N having to deal with the future threats under the lab all by himself, considering Uzi basically cant fight without the risk of becoming Cyn, this means N has to ;

and be ready for whatever extra unknown factor theyre going to face down there

It wasn't that Liam was reusing tropes; he was iterating upon them. Everything begore MD was practice, basically - test runs of ideas or similar concepts, before the ultimate iteration crystallized.
Or he has trauma involving parasitosis and this is how he works it out. Iono - what am I, his therapist?
I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that they're "test runs" since they always were meant to serve as independent projects, but I'd agree that you could call Murder Drones the final culmination of his previous works in a sense.
A good way to bring V back without being too cheap:
Bring her back as a worker drone, have her memory absolutely caked. Then she actually still gets to die, but also we get V
Man... that video hit me cus they talk the truths, that i already know, but i don't wanna actually assume cus V is so cool and it's really bad cus she was a character only put there only to star figths and whatever and never have a good develop 🙃
In my opinion V needs more screen time and development, 6 episode Is not enough for one of the main charcters and anyway it's too much pathetic for me to get her killed by the velociraptors from Jurassic Park, She can be cloned or she can escape the sentinals or MAYBE J arrived and saved her, who knows
Agreed. But it got me some questions tho.
1. Would V can just regenerate herself after getting attacked by the raptors, considering she is a disassembly drone like N?
2. Is Zombie drones are just the same like the disassembly drones? Because they also do have tails, wings, fangs, and the X face? If it is, then does that also mean N, V, J are also basically zombie drones?
3. Why N didn't turn into an Eldrich like J did in episode 2 despite both were being killed by Uzi's laser gun? N was died multiple times but he didn't turn into one.🧐🧐
1. We saw other dead Disassembly Drones in the entrance of the Cabin Fever lab and none of them had gone eldritch, meaning V probably won't either.
2. I think the Disassembly Drones were originally Zombie Drones that Cyn upgraded with mechanical components based on what we saw in the basement in episode 5.
3. When N reboots after getting slapped by J in the pilot, we see a single line of code that says the AbsoluteSolver was blocked by Cyn, thus stopping him from going eldritch.
The thing is if you pay attention to the details you know that he is going to sacrifice herself and there's a really good reason why she realizes about halfway through the episode what's a cruel world it is and this happens with the baby drone sacrificing his life for v and then after that we can tell that there was a a discussion that happened off camera where n tells v about uzi and she realizes that uzi is not one of the countless worker drones killed of for no
reason but her dying means the planet lives on but her not means the end of the planet v feels bad about her fate being sealed so many times and can relate to someone who just wants to be free and have their Romance her dying is pretty much her giving someone just a couple more minutes of Freedom before they have to meet their end and n who has to live with Uzi being dead by the way I do want to say I'm not the person who came up with these it's actually an idea of someone else's which I believe this next part is actually some digging that I figured out on my own the song that plays during v death is a song called Eternal dream her dying is her geting her Eternal dream where she is free to live her life and have her Romance

very wild but i do think episode 7 will be focus on behind the scene of V mainly the off screen action more since that we do not know what happen like why V chose to go to camp with N and uzi or go back to the past with N we know she does it because of N but we didnt get to see the full picture and also i mainly want to see how V and uzi relationship changed more to make sense as to why V said"uzi i trust you" in episode 6 and beside V was just there in episode 3-6 so make a episode fully focus on V and explore more about V character development would help us make sense and also discover the trauma that she has to go through like for example in episode 3 when V sliced her head off she might secretly have hugged N while he is regenerating like i dont know so a episode focus on V would answer a lot of those question

There’s something I thought of and I’m not sure if this is a long stretch or I’m just watching my favorite shows too much but the absolute solver is kinda similar to void Ghidorah (if you even know what that is)

What i dont like is how weak the sentinels are because all i need is a panzerkampfagen VI to destroy a whole army of them. Heck i could probably take them on myself.
To be fair they are programmed to not attack humans and you'd be immune to getting boot-looped, so you probably would have a decent shot

Im back again with a theroy so November 9th is when glitch X happens, well wouldn't they say something on the lines of "dont ask liam if murder drones wear pants or if V is coming back"? Like think about it if they didnt think to mention it that means episode 7 will happen before glitch X thus giving us the answer whether V is alive or not. Unless V becomes the antagonist in season 2 (if there is one) aka: holo spooky snake crab. But anyway am I on to something?
I understand where you are goin to and yes if episode 7 doesn't drop before the glitch X event then a lot of people are gonna be asking that question but not gonna lie for me revealing V fate in ep 7 could feel to soon cause her sacrifice was basically at the end of ep 6 and if they do it most likely it will be at the end of ep 7.

I doubt she’s dead Serial Designation J was killed came back as an Eldritch Monster killed again then came back again so if a Disassembly Drone can comeback after being turned into an entirely different creature I don’t see why Serial Designation V can’t come back after being frozen by the Sentinels if she was even Frozen by them at all. I think that since the show has switched to focusing on mainly Uzi and Serial Designation N they wanted to get Serial Designation V so they don’t have to find something for her to do basically they put her in a box they can open at any time if they want to use her again
To be fair, Episode 2 made it look like J only came back because of that thing in her chest. If V has one of those and the Sentinels destroy that too, then that might prevent V from coming back.
