Cyn wasn’t in control, the absolute solver was. In episode 6 Tessa said “it took Cyn has a host” when referring to the absolute solver. The absolute solver was just using cyn’s body.

People also claim that the Absolute Solver could be some eldritch entity some sort of god that's doing stuff.
It seems that cyn could be in partial control of absolutesolver though. If you look closely at n’s reboot scene in episode 1, you can see a line of code saying that the administrator “cyn” blocked ‘string absolute solver’

also in episode 5 we can see the solver talking with cyn when she boots up in the pile of bodies
I think Nori was the person who killed everyone in Copper 9, as Alice mentioned that "She sure thought imploding all those folks where pretty slick". Also, the part where Tessa shows a drone corrupted with the Absolute Solver, the camera feed was labelled "Nori 002".
plus the frame before that showed Nori and Yeva together in a room with sentinels so it has to be Nori
it could very well be an unknown character, but it is a cool idea
the revelation could be that Nori was evil and succumbed to Absoulte Solver and her dad lied to her about her death. I think that's equally fine than the normal 'boyfriend and lovable character was actually the one who killed the mom, bc he was ordered to'

Welp, it was a fun theory until episode7 dropped. Now we're back in the dark without the Matpat lamp to guide us so we dont know what to expect! Fun!
Well, he might have missed on the actual events, but the plotline of the hero journey remains, just the helper wasn't S but Nori, and the Angsty revelation could either her mother destroying the world or the fact that Tessa wasn't alive but a husk for Cyn, given the location the Abyss part remain and both revelations lines with Death and Rebirth

I started watching Liam back when he had just started SSTWL and it’s been really fun seeing his progress as a creator. Glad he made it to such a good studio

Matpat's use of clips from the show to follow up his commentary as if the characters were responding to him in the first few minutes is pretty funny, its clear he enjoys this show very much by the way he used the lines. "Consider it repressed" is definitely one of my favorites. 😂

Despite the detail MatPat managed to piece together, I'm surprised that the background details weren't covered as well- such as the coding in the first-person views, one such example where N was rebooted in the first episode and a brief line showed up in the corner- "String "Absolute Solver" blocked by Administration "Cyn"", or the information and algebra hidden in Nori's drawings and Uzi's 'theorist board'.
He did say he wants to make more vids on this show so hes saving them for most likely after season 1 ends to have more content.

16:55 since episode 7 just came out I have a theory. The Death could be V or as we found out Tessa is presumed dead, the Abyss is the hole leaving Copper 9, and the Rebirth is Nori found being alive, but in a sort of different state
There's no way Tessa isn't dead. Her skin looks to be decaying, so either Cyn has recently killed her or has been trying to keep it relatively good. Basically, Tessa was taxidermied by Cyn at some point and taken over as an attempt to "camouflage"

Mat is that one friend to watch a second of a show or movie and literally knows* everything that happens.
after watching this, I realized something. In Uzi's presentation, a part of the board says "Unlikely Aid", whereas in the normal Hero's Journey image it specifically states "Supernatural Aid". The creators must've changed that on purpose.

Glad that not only Glitch Animations show, but more specifically Liam Vickers show is getting so much attention. I'm a huge fan of his stuff and I think I've watched every video on his channel, but I completely forgot he had this project with Glitch Animation. The fact that it's now ended up on Film Theory and has gotten such a heavy fanbase is absolute gold :D

SMG4 and Glitch have evolved from simple N64 Mario skits to Netflix-worthy series and incredible, short movies with amazing quality. They deserve an Oscar for sure.

I dont think absolute solver is just some goofy ai code....i think it's some extra dimensional entity that can poke into our reality through very specific circumstances in AI in general, and this model number of worker deones built by humans is just the right kind.
The heavy use of organic elements and the ability to literally summon singularities seems way too fundamental to be just some rogue ai code

10:02 Actually, Uzi's absolute solver probably activated earlier, cuz when J is shooting at her, you can see that one of the bullet lines is wiggly instead of straight, which happens in the show when the bullets are deflected by the absolute solver

It could either mean that some administrator of Cyn type models blocked it from spreading onto him or it was the Cyn

One interesting detail is that when N is rebooting, and we get to see the reboot screen, in the upper left corner is a line of code about how absolute solver is being blocked by Cyn, who is labeled as an admin. I'm not sure if this will be used, but it could be significant later on as well.

Did you know while n is rebooting in episode 1 you see a string of text saying "absolute solver program blocked by administration :cyn" which makes me wonder, if cyn wanted more absolute solvers, why block it on the drones she had control over?
This episode is one of the only, along side the Hazbin Hotel episode, that got me to go watch the show prior to this and come back to it. What an amazing show and I can’t wait for the next episodes. Painful waiting so long for these.
I will admit, it is painful waiting, but if you watch the episodes one after the other you're not getting the full experience. Go watch the CartoonUniverse theories after the episode you watch, then watch the next one.

The wait is worth it, though. The sheer quality of Glitch's animation and whatnot needs time to be made. I'll gladly wait 2 months for an episode with the same quality.
