How to Use Remote Desktop from Mac to Windows 10 PC | Gaming / Editing

- In this video I'll be showing you how to use remote desktop, using a mac to a windows 10 pc for free. I know a lot of us are students or people who happen to have a Windows 10 desktop that you would like to access or use remote desktop from a mac to that pc so that they do not need to bring their desktop gaming pc or laptop around, giving you the freedom to use it on mac or a Macbook from anywhere so that you can either use PC specific applications, edit, or game if you can figure out how to do that.
I'll also show Minecraft running on my Macbook using my gaming pc, as well as using DaVinci Resolve in remotely editing a 4k video, just to see how it handles.

what if the PC your trying to connect to doesn't have a password for the user to login? do you just leave it blank on rdp? i keep getting error 0x204

So it works successfully while I connected my laptop to the desktop at my office. However, when I went home, it received ERROR CODE: 0X104. Can anyone help? Seems like it only works when the computers are close to each other?

@@billygate4063 i set up a vpn on my host pc using openvpn and whenever i want to remote into it, i open the vpn on my client to access my host!

I got this to work while im at home on the wifi, but I can't get it to work whenI'm at work. I allowed remote session in settings and changed firewall settings. It only works on the same wifi network. Any ideas?

Hi! I finally managed to install successfully, but I'm not able to use it from another internet in any way, it's always giving an error and tells me that I have to be connected to the same internet. Do you know how I can solve the problem? I really need to find a way to work on my Microsoft pc from my macbook.

my mouse cursor works fine in the remote interaction for everything, but when i try to play games the camera doesent moves, i can click the mouse inside the game but cant move the camera with the mouse. Any ideia how to fix it?

im stuck at the step at 3:41. ive entered my correct login info for my pc(i logged out and logged back in to verify) and now im getting "Error code: 0x207" saying the password isnt working or expired. do you have any suggestions or ways to fix this?

Hey havent run into this actually, from what ive seen online, it could be that you just need to delete and reinstall the Microsoft Remote Desktop app off the Mac and that seemed to to the trick for some people, or it could be an antivirus or firewall option on your PC that is not letting you in, ill link a few sites I saw this on:

@@Joshua_Boaz I have wak lan set up, but it's set up through the same internet connection. What I have found out is I can turn on my pc, but I will be at risk of hackers. If I use a VPN it will protect my computer. Not sure how safe it is, but at least I can have some protection.
Is your PC itself hooked up to ethernet or was it using Wifi in this video?

The reason your mouse is crapping out in Minecraft is because your host mouse isn't locked into the remote connection window. I'm not sure how to lock the mouse yet, I clicked on your video while looking for the solution.

No VPN or same network connection is needed! I access my school desktop pcs from my macbook all the time using this method so you can be on different networks

No need for the same WiFi connection, both need to be connected to the internet but doesn’t need the same network! You can be across the world with a laptop and it’ll work!

when accessing the PC through rdp on Mac, is the screen on Mac and everything else that you're currently doing on remote can be seen on the host screen? if yes, how can I black host screen?
the host pc should appear locked, thus whoever is sitting in front of it does not see what you are doing.

How is the color streaming quality? In color grading it is very important.
In my opinion colors do look how it is viewed on my PC if I were not using remote desktop, however I feel like if you are doing those minuscule changes (using DaVinci Resolve color grading panel on my video clip) and there may be some variation between the two, maybe its something you need to look at in person and try for your self to see the effect

When you say "from mac to windows 10 pc" you're suggesting the server is on the mac, and the client is on the PC. Might want to edit the title to say it's the other way around. I came here with false hope, thinking I was going to be able to connect to my mac from a windows pc using RDC.
