You need to do a quick value analysis of replacing the engine on the Hyundai. LKQ foster or ebay would be a good place to look for engine or your local dismantler. Then show us the cost break down of how much to fix vs what car could be sold for after the fix, that would be very interesting for the people that watch you vids.
These flood cars with the keys " missing " . Well I don't think they were ever truly missing. They just didn't want you to be able to start them and find out they had blown engines ! I guess that helps keep the price down sort of ! I know it must be a pain to replace the engines, but at least you know how ! Versus the average Joe ! And besides... it does make great content!
I vote you get a low mileage used engine for the Hyundai and swap it. Those are fun little cars that someone will want.
The Hyundai, check the timing belt, if it's broken, set crank arm 90 degrees, you can then rotate the cams and check for bent valves. No bent valves, pull the pan and check for bent rods. No bent rods , new belt and try your luck. As long as the valves didn't smash the pistons your in business.
You Bro’s are becoming flood damaged car experts 😁 who occasionally get a bad one ☹️, bit of a bummer but I think your still way up on the potential profits and rewards 👌🏻, well done guys .
Gotta admire the attitude "It's a gamble, we gambled, didn't quite work out the way we planned so we'll figure something else out". Ya boys, keep at it, never give up and a smile never hurts!!
Have got screw on flood vehicle insurance
Many insurance companies leave the keys out of locked engine auctions. They do this because more people are willing to take a risk on a no key than a locked up motor.
O wow that makes sense , wish we knew that before lol
That’s crazy, it ain’t right for real, it’s like baiting you or better yet cheating you.
@@NikoBrothers You should give the cars that are locked up the view the engine is bad then with an estimate on the replacement cost against the condition of the car make the appropriate decision that way you are erring on the positive side of the equation.
Are you saying American car insurance companies are crooks ? 😱 No way !
Their shady actions would'nt last long here in Canada, especialy here in Québec. They are very scrutinized in their practices.
I'm not saying they don't try, specially with young drivers, but... don't get caught ! $$$$+ more $$$$ fines.
That's why you check the air filter to see if it's got wet if they were running and sucked up water it can destroy the engine
I’d strongly suggest pre lubing or fogging the cylinders before giving them the ketchup for the first time. Also checking the fluids to make sure if it does start you aren’t running it on an oil/water milkshake. 🤙🏻
Yep 100%. Also a lot of modern vehicles the air intakes are low down so pulling the the air filter etc just to make sure there's no water left to get sucked into the cylinders would be a good idea. Would hate to see a salvageable engine destroyed by a cupfull of water.
Michael is one of the greatest nicest guys on youtube, he's spirit is always upbeat he's the reason i watch this channel !!
No risk no rewards. You guys don’t mind taking a chance. I respect you for it.
the risk is on those that would buy a flood car from them.
It’s a shame about the genny they’re really fun cars. Sucks about the accord as well, loving this series
You guys the best.. suspense drama with those cars when trying to start for 1st time is just 😎
Since the silver accord is in much better condition than the black one, do an engine swap with the engine and drivetrain and interior out of the black one. Cut your losses with the black one since it needs pretty much a respray, body repair and lights
So sorry about the hyper locked engines . But at least you can
Change out the motors and repair the fenders and just paint
The fenders and bumpers . Goes by super fast when you know
What your doing. These Honda’s are deserving
These guys are gonna have I junkyard on there hands in no time
Really enjoy your channel guys , I like the price reveal to the repair on the vehicles , we don’t have to wait 4 shows to see the price or repair .keep up the great work .. BK
I would part out that black Honda Accord. Rough all the way around, flood title, and the engine is making some bad noises.
Yeah the engine in that one sounded shot. Both Accords needed motors for sure. Surprised the shitty MultiAir 4cyl in the Jeep cranked right up though, I've replaced a few of those in late model Dodge Darts already that weren't even flooded 😂 but it only had ~40k miles so I'll give it some time.
@@Stressless2023 nope. That motor isn't shot. That's the tensioner went out. They all make that noise at some point. I'd also suggest a timing belt replacement with waterpump.
@@PLATINUM2U Might be right, didn't know those V6's still used timing belts. Never had a V6 come through the shop interestingly enough, only 4bangers. And yeah should always replace the water pump too if driven by the timing belt/chain.
You guys are still way ahead with your gamble as a whole. Keep up the good work
Was the oil shake it???
There's no bad luck in this story. Nothing but God's goodness and blessings. Hey, make a video fixing that back fence! Praise God.
I saw them fix the fence 3 times skid truck drivers keep tearing it up. SCRUBS say NIKO BROS OTAY.
You may have turned the genesis engine the wrong way and made it jump time so it stopped spinning when piston hit valves... then looked like u continued trying to turn and loosened the crank bolt when u said "nothings even moving" but looked like ratchet was. Check pistons w borescope... then check timing closely b4 buying new engine.
GOOD THING YOUR SHOP IS NEXT TO "AUTO ADVANCED PARTS" LOL
I'm interested in that Genesis because I hate myself, but it would sure be a fun project to swap the engine on. Not too practical for MN, but a decent flip if you find the engine right.
NIko Bros, thanks for another interesting video, appreciate the positive vibe you guys show in the vids , 👏🏽🤜🏽🤛🏽💯
Great content gentlemen 👍❤️🚗
Very good BRO'S good shopping and Very good BRO'S good shopping and and with few problems 😂😂Saludos desde Honduras 🇭🇳excelente trabajo 💪💪💪
Love these flood cars great video again guys 😉
I like that Jeep Compass👍👍
Me too. Best looking of the bunch in my opinion.
"wHeReS tHe BlOwOfF vAlVe" followed by turning over in the wrong direction. Exactly the guys I'd expect to be buying flood cars.
Great content gentlemen👍
Part the black accord out and put the engine in the silver one if the 6cyl fits.
I have no idea why but I enjoy these videos! Thanks for posting!!
hello niko brothers i love yur videos and i love cars too am in Nigeria and i wish to have my own car one day from you as a gift, keep it up my brothers
I loved seeing the Jeep Compass. I knew what it was before seeing the emblem. The compass is small. I would love to get my hands on it.
Again fab video thank 👍🇬🇧👍
Keep going , rock on
Your channel just came 🆙 as a reference. I am looking to get an auction vehicle so this channel came up at the right time
Sometimes you win sometimes you lose, keep up the good work thanks john from arizona
Looking forward to the next one
Love the fact that instead of making individual videos
Of each car as a series you guys post like a tv series 🙌🏼 subbed
Good luck you all.
Bummer on the locked-up cars. Seems like the law of averages is catching up with your earlier good luck. Great positive attitude !
"Not too bad" - there isn't a straight panel on that black Honda 😂
Maybe BUT the V6 sounds like a broken connecting rod. It clacks like a diesel ! Definitely not a Honda V6 smooth sound.
Awesome show fix what you can.
very interesting.........love seeing the price you paid......would be nice to see how much you manage to sell them for.....
You guys have alot of great videos. You do great work. I think you should buy another wrecked honda and swap out the motor for the one that seized up.
I love your videos
Bad luck this time, but dont give up we want your videos.😀
I never knew there was a market for flood cars, as a buyer even saving 5k on a car is still such a gamble of Gremlins in the future...
These are the people who bid up all cars you think are gonna sell cheap at the auction!
Always replace the break fluid because most likely has water
Jeep tac yac yac knock knock knock..."Sounds good"
Those MultiAir 4cyls are noisy and unrefined even when they aren't flooded lol this one sounded normal. I'm shocked it cranked right up and ran frankly. Wouldn't have thought I'd see 2 dead/dying Honda's and 1 good running Jeep lol.
Most engines spins clockwise when facing the engine. If you are spinning it counter clockwise you might have damaged the engine.
That jeep looks nice!
Do it again guys. Very interesting.
tnx for the video
The genesis coupe with 2.0t. I bought one flooded as well engine locked up too. Problem with this cars is the Inter cooler is at the bottom so it’s easy for water to get In. Try breaking it free with some mystery oil let sit and slowly move it with a breaker bar. Or it’s cheaper to rebuild than to buy an engine at least where I’m from like 3500 for an engine on this
Flood cars are ticking timebombs. Too much electronics in modern day cars to risk buying one.
Thanks for the video...what is the car reader you are scanning the cars with?
Looks like there is a reason why those cars dont have keys - if the engine is dead just sell it as "no keys" on auction
100% I hope it’s not the case but realistically I’m sure it is sometimes.. oh this POS is locked up, let’s just toss the keys to add some mystique for bids.
Of course you know it!!
I’m a Hyundai lover I want to see the work on it not many people work on them and there really good cars, most of the time 🤣
Honda engines should be easy to find.. you win some and you don’t.. it’s the fun part of the rebuild process.. great video 👍
Good luck with all the cars
good job bro.
Bet they locked keys in on purpose hoping would take a punt. Could see where had tried to remove plugs and force water out. Could see where water had run out from top of cylinder head.
The one with the roof ripped back shows power of floods prob smashed into a building or tree while in the flood torrent
Engine lock may just be a bent conrod can normally be replaced from the sump side.
I had a bad feeling about the Hyundai since there was no key. You guys will make it up in the big picture.
Watching from Nassau, Bahamas
I have wanted a Jeep Compass since 2016 when I sat in my first one.
Like this video setup way better much more interesting
I know this video is old but do change the transmission fluid because that can get affected from intruded water.
Come on Lads need to pull your fingers out before the next load arrives, onwards and upwards guys.
P.B. blaster would help with stuck motors !
I love your channel
Why would one of your buyers ever take a chance on a Flood Salvage car? Any electronics that got even damp can show in a couple years.
I'd like to get that CR-V
🔥
good work
enjoying these vids if youre willing to share would love to know what you paid for all cars in total and what you sold for
I won’t even pay 4 thousand for all these damaged cars!!! Never mind 20 thousand 😂
Black honda needs a timing belt and tensioner ASAP
That tensioner is screaming...."change me!! Change me"
Fix em..👍👍
I love that car trailer ! I bet it is expensive .
I'd fix the Tiburon guys get it running and sell it to some kid
Depends on the value of them in their market. At 130k miles here an old 2013 Hyundai isn't worth much. Probably not worth fixing from a potential profit standpoint.
There's a chance those fluids are mixed with water so it seems quite risky to try to start 'em, especially trying to put 'em in gear. An inexperienced young driver in my family slid a 2000 Toyota Echo right off a dock and into a couple feet of water. Replaced the ECU and changed the oil so the Echo ran and drove fine but took it to an oil change place to have the trans fluid changed. They said something was blocking the procedure so they gave up. Took it apart looking for the block but it’s been awhile so I can’t remember what I found except the little balls fell out of the valve body so I had to find the info and new gaskets to finish the job. Time to get back at it.
I’ve been stuck with a few flood vehicles, as evidenced by the moisture retaining sand and tiny seashells I discovered in the rockers and frame rails while doing rust repair. Which helped explain why I’d find green wires in the harness while looking for the cause of opens and shorts.
When you guys pulled those plugs, I so wanted to see you pour a little penetrating oil into each cylinder and while waiting for the magic to happen, charge the battery. Then put a breaker bar on the crank to turn it over by hand to ease the piston rings into moving again. A few revolutions would’ve loosened ‘em up. Then use the starter to spit out the penetrating oil onto a piece of cardboard covering the spark plug openings, which could’ve helped indicate if one cylinder had a thrown rod. I guess every mechanic has their own procedures so if something’s wrong with mine, please let me know because while I may be an old dog, I’m willing to learn new tricks.
Still a good deal guys. Stay safe.
Marvel Mystery Oil is great for throwing it down the cyclinders
Very desire table vehicle, had 4 hold their value.
I would fix the 2 with locked up engines.. But I would do them, only when there is time... You have other projects that i'm sure come first.
Your great Mechanic's plz put a different engine in it. Give it the Niko brothers new life
Do you guys PRAY FOR 🌧️☔ STORMS TO HIT THE COAST LOL 😆 Do that Rain Dance Voodoo stuff ..
👍👍
Mark my words, this guys will be like goonsquad one day.
omg.... NO
Do a motor swap on the Hyundai it's a nice car
Nice jeep
That Honda has something going on in that engine bay lol
I donno guys, cars that old ? Like the Genesis or the banged up, obviously abused Accord !! Good luck guys !
On turbo cars unhook charge pipe from throttle body just in case
Well there is always my way to handle junk cars 👊👍
👍
Some good luck and some not so good. I am guessing you have come out positive so far with the flooded cars you have reclaimed- even the Seanna? One day you might share the total spent vs total received report. I am sure that would solve the problem. Then we we know, “should I stay or should I go?”
