This bag still has not been topped by another other bag for grocerys......fantastic baby bag as well as over night bag for the teens,,,,,,Beach bag........it is up and above all other grocery backs, holds gallons of milk and the dividers allows for bread or boxs in one divided area, another area for freah veggies..........yes, it takes a lot of fabric,,,,,but done like the tutorials instructs, making sure all seams are strong.....so that washing is not a problem, this bag will last and be a favorite for any family
I love this bag. I'm definitely going to make a few of these. They've just taken away plastic bags from the grocery stores here as of July 1st. If you dont bring them you have to buy them. This bag looks awesome. Thank you!
I really love your vidoes! You make it so easy to follow along; organized and simple method. I am a beginner at sewing, it has been so helpful to watch your tutorials!!
OMG Andrea! This is fantastic..... Christmas presents for those daughters and daughter’s in law that I have that have ‘everything’.... they will love these... love your videos... xxx
You are so right! This is the perfect gift for the person who has everything...because there is no way they have this exact bag as it is a Sewspire Community Original Design (SCOD).
I've made two of these now and this bag is gorgeous and ultra functional. The way the bottom of the bag is cut and sewn together is awesome!! Love love love ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Andrea for another great bag tutorial!! You made it so easy to craft. I'll be making several of these as gifts. Can't wait for your next tutorial.
My sisters and I just got reservations for the beach, so I put one together last night, finding enough fabric for all the pieces was the hard part, very easy to construct.
I LOVE your tutorials!!! I’ve made your crossbody bag from the fabric that was donated . And it turned out perfect!!! You are so descriptive in all of your tutorials, it’s hard to go wrong !
Great inserts! Love your site, will be back after I make a couple of these for grocery bags! I love section ing my stuff, I don't remember being so particular before we had to bring our own bags... Thank you again, love your class setting/store!
Another great design. It will be added to my "to make" list. Thanks Andrea. Sure hope your husband is doing better. So thankful that this was detected and he could get the help he needed.
I have made this bag. I also had trouble with the Pellon not sticking to the fabric. Your tips are appreciated for stitching it a few times. I prefer a foam that I can quilt in place; its not heavy and keeps the bag in shape. This bag is a great size for the pool!
My girl sent me this video link, I’ve been searching high and low for a reusable grocery bag & this is what I wanted all along!! Absolutely perfect! My only complaint, as a newbie, I would’ve liked her to have included how to do the notching. I’ve never done it, as a visual learner it would’ve helped me immensely. Great bag pattern, exactly what I wanted, can’t wait to make some.
Brilliant! This just gave me the idea of making an insert for my favorite totes with dividers, might even make a great picnic bag with designated pockets for plates, flatware, and a wine/water bottle with a larger open area for food containers 😄
I love how descriptive you are and how you share the exact measurements in this video! I'm going to make this bag, but will probably add some lightweight interfacing to the lining and compartment fabrics. Love the look of this bag!
Am so looking forward to making at least one of these for Xmas gifts. Going to use a top stitching thread for lines on outside of bag. I’m new at all this so it’s great to be able to follow along. Love your videos. Thank you 🙏
Denise Hosner , I like this bag a lot too. However I am slightly confused and I think maybe you can unconfuse me since your comment touched on it........ the bottoms of the inside areas are not sewn down, so they are merely dividers only, not pockets, am I understanding that correctly? How are these adjustable since they are sewn down in the middle of each? I’m obviously confused, lol 😂
Ivonne Walters It will work for me :) I see some refer to the dividers as adjustable but I'm not sure how that is since they are sewn down, via the middle. It looks like a fun sew, gonna make one or a few!
HI Andrea, I love this project what a wonderful Idea. I think I will add a pocket to the outer part of the bag. TSF your talent and giving so much inspiration.
🌺Good Morning, Andrea! Thank you for this clear, easy-to-follow video. I have followed several patterns for totes and sold several of them as yoga bags...but the genius of this one is the divider compartments, because no one likes having to dig through a giant bag for our things....we have ALL done this, right? I plan to incorporate the divider feature in other totes I am making, even with other patterns. THANKS so much! Be well during this crazy viral season...best to you and yours.🏡
Love this tote! Will definitely be making several of these. I never thought about the dividers, but that is such a great idea. You always come up with the best ideas! I like the idea of making one for beach, and maybe one for gym as well, or even dance class for the little ones in a smaller size tote would be great for moms to keep organized. Thank you for another wonderful idea and great video tutorial. I enjoyed it, as always. Oh, by the way, LOVE LOVE LOVE your new studio! It's fabulous. Jean Billings
I was hoping to start my market tote today but instead made a Roman blind for my daughter . She's recently moved house and l promised l would make her a blind xx
Wow!! Was looking out for this kind of a tote. I wanted to make tote with partition to buy my veggies . Now-a-days days these kinds of bag is recommended to buy veggies to bring down the use of plastic covers. You are God send. Thanks you so much for the design and idea. Happy to see one. Best wishes💐🍫
I think the "dollar" store foam-like placemats would probably work for the base piece. They would be easy to cut and are probably thin enough to sew on, too. (if you're cheap like me, you might want to give it a try.)
Thank you Andrea, for this bag tutorial. I made this bag out of light camouflage (waterproof) fabric and added wide tabs on each side that slide onto wheelchair handles for my daughter's WWII Veteran grandpa who just turned 96 years old (and is doing well). He is in the Veterans Home and this bag makes it easy for his son to carry and bring items to and fro when he visits and it keeps everything sorted and at hand. When the bag hangs on the wheelchair, a large vinyl graphic saying, "This Is What The World's Greatest Grandpa Looks Like" can be seen. Thanks again for a great bag.
Wow! Thank you for sharing this story with me. This and YOU are exactly why I do what I do. I love knowing this design is improving the quality of someones life and it makes it even more special he is a WWII Veteran and the World's Greatest Grandpa! XO, Andrea
Wow...what a fabulous tutorial. I need to make these as here in Australia we’ve gone bagless recently, so this is perfect 😍 I’ve just subscribed to your channel too ❤️ Looking forward to watching more creative sewing inspired videos from you x
Thank you for a very good tutorial. I’ve just completed my first bag of many I hope. I made it from a blackout blind which someone no longer needed. It didn’t need Pellon as the material was thick enough and my sewing machine coped with the layers. I will be happy to wipe it clean after grocery shopping use as needed. Hoping to make one to keep some of my sewing supplies in to transport to and from class. Thanks once again!

Thank you!
