Thank you so much for the information. I’ve been watching your other videos too but I’m still convinced it will be a great choice for me and my kids. I’m an entrepreneur myself. We’re just waiting until next summer!
I’m in Augusta Georgia all the time because my girlfriend lives there!! Augusta is a great place to live!! Always lots of things to do. Great places to eat and shop too..
I lived in Augusta Georgia from 1972-1978, living in neighborhood such as Hype Park which is no longer around and also Butler Manor. I went to Clara E. Jenkins, Gracewood Elementary, and Windsor Spring Elementary. My sister has a home in Grovetown now.
I lived in Augusta for a year from Philly, it’s a retirement area. Nothing for a 20-30 year olds. If u like golf, go for it. That’s about it. Truthfully. Shopping, eating, entertainment is not there. The mall is small. Might be large to them, but would be a suburb style Philly mall size. It was a nice change of pace to come from a large area to a smaller one. But, not for long term
We currently live in Milwaukee. We have our road trip booked to visit Augusta this Summer with plans to relocate in 2027 🥰 Plans to buy once we establish ourselves. Thank you for this video!
Appreciate your honest take on the area. I’ve been here 15 years and it’s actually getting worse. There is no shopping, gangs are bleeding in from Atlanta, and our homeless population is growing. Mismanagement of funds by Augusta city and Richmond County administrators has made an already bad situation a nightmare. There is very minimal growth potential for this area as the Masters continues to buy up more and more real estate and keep it unavailable for 50 weeks a year. This town is not moving forward, but regressing, while the only people who benefit are those that hold a stake in the Augusta National.
Good content. I lived in Waynesboro in the late 80's and loved going to the Regency Mall. I just found out today it has been shutdown since 2001. Hard to imagine, I still have items I purchased in that mall.
Yes, I was small when the Regency Mall was open, but I do wish it was still here. We need another mall. They are currently planning to redevelop it into a mixed complex with apartments, restaurants, and a grocery store.
FACTS!! I have lived in Augusta earlier this year 2023. If you like a Dead City that has no plans on Not being a Dead City. Then move there. You will have NO basic City reliable services, NO motivated Household Contractor work, Plumbing, electrical, Grass moving, fence building etc. I can go on. "Jethro" Contractor might show up WEEKS LATER and he is dirty in dirty shorts, greasy hair etc. (U get the picture). I have read that the city refused the same Development company that rebuilt the now thriving Downtown Columbia SC. Just so they can STAY as dysfunctional as they are. As long as they get yearly money from the Masters Golf, they are content. Hollywood could literally shoot pictures based on 1965 downtown and would not have to spend a dime on background optics.
well Augusta most definitely me as a teenager it’s definitely not boring no more they definitely brung allot more things for us in the city and they are building more entertainment venues and a warter park is soon to be built around here to do everyone can stop going to splash in the boro but Augusta starting to become the more of atlanta which is good and bad the problem is with all these residents moving to our area the traffic is getting so heavy where it’s starting to become a big problem but augusta entertainment is definitely getting better and the night life downtown night life is really nice and it stay pack on weekends until like 3:00 in the morning
I was stationed in the area from 1987-1990 on Fort Gordon. Been to Hepzibah, Martinez, and Grovetown. Post commander said that Broad Street and Regency Mall was off-limits to military personnel at the time (high crime areas). Went to Germany in October 1990 after my tour of duty.
Regency mall has been closed for years. There have been shootings at the other mall and I don’t dare go there when the sun goes down. It hasn’t improved, it’s become worse.
I used to be a cop in Augusta. I can give you plenty of reasons not to move to Augusta. Sorry and understaffed sheriff’s office, corrupt local politicians, If you’re a small business trying to win contracts you gotta be part of the “clique” in order to stand a chance(gotta know somebody), full of gangs, unruly juveniles running the streets, no comedy club, did I mention there’s always a shooting like the shooting downtown the other day with thousands of people hanging out?, and the terrible roads with all the potholes will tear up your car just to name a few. If you want to move to the augusta area move to COLUMBIA COUNTY! Stay out of RICHMOND COUNTY! Your families lives will be I. Constant danger, and you will have to put your kid in private school to keep them safe and not dumb, because the Richmond county board of education is just as bad as the commissioners. There are plenty of articles online that will show you how corrupt they are.
If you are willing to really get out and network, yes, there is space for another one. Over the next 5 years, there will be a lot of growth in this area which means more infrastructure whether that be both residential or commercial.
I want to express that I'm not complaining. In my daily work with homebuyers and individuals relocating, I encounter crucial factors shaping their purchase decisions. In this video, I touch upon topics derived from both my personal experiences as a native Augusta resident and insights from conversations with others. I believe these insights would be valuable to those considering a move to this area. Our region is undergoing positive transformations thanks to dedicated investors, and I wholeheartedly endorse and contribute to this progress whenever possible.

How nice, a lot of changes since that time…some of these schools are no longer there as well.

Vicky Matson helped my wife and I find a great house in North Augusta - it's a pretty place to live and the taxes are low
That’s great!

I’ve heard from several service members they are told that about certain areas and some of the areas they tell you are bad really are not at all.
Regency mall has been closed for years. There have been shootings at the other mall and I don’t dare go there when the sun goes down.

Talk about crime in Richmond county
What specifically about crime?
Tell me of a city that doesn't have crime. Research the population vs crime rate and Augusta numbers are not bad at all.
Everybody has a complaint.. nobody ever invest though. Dont complain if you dont have an idea or solution.
