Thanks for the great comment! It's inspiring to know that we've inspired you. We're all healed up and just returned from a week-long trip (hence the late response). Time to get back to editing. Thanks again, and I hope you can get out on the trail soon.

Short and SWEET! Loved the Campfire scene. It's great how you focused on each individual and caught our quirky nuances! Ofcourse, you can't have a blooper reel without your camera falling over 😆. On to the LHT my friend!

The campfire scene is my favorite part too. It was a great night at camp. Congrats on finally completing the thru hike. See you on the LHT. Or at this restaurant.

Wonderful video, Chad!! I think you captured as great or better of a story joining us halfway as we did doing all 60miles. You totally nailed that video technique we’ve been mulling over: letting the dialogue drive the narrative. You got a lot of great audio that kept me engaged and the story progressing. And of course your video is top notch too!
    - 0:50 I would be sulking too if I missed a trip like this (I may or may hot have sulked a little bit missing the LHT with you guys haha). That’s an honest emotion to experience, so thanks for sharing what you were feeling during your injury.
    - 1:03 I don’t know how we thought of this idea, but I am so glad we did! Having you join this trip was such a great addition. It wouldn’t have been the same without you!
    - 1:21 It’s amazing what healing to the body and being out in creation can do for our minds. Going from struggling emotionally to being eternally grateful is awesome- it feels like a gift or miracle when that change happens in my mind.
    - 1:43 I love the colors that your “natural” setting give you on your camera. We both took a similar shot of this Morrell and they look so different. Your coloring is so warm and inviting!
    - 2:26 Woah that is a wicked mushroom! What kind is this?
    - 2:34 That sign has seen some major time on trail. Wow
    - 2:45 This is the start of such a cool, organic interaction that rarely (if at all) happens on trail. I love this sequence.
    - 3:39 “Hey! I just happened to be out in the woods…” LOVE THIS. Your trail comedy is gold haha.
    - 3:49 The Trail Tribe is complete!
    - 4:08 I LOVE this shot of Nick being in focus in the background with the grasses out of focus in the foreground. Haven’t seen too many of these kinds of shot in backpacking videos before. Unique.
    - 5:27 Chef Chad, coming in clutch! Those were super tasty! Thanks again for finding and cooking those up for us.
    - 5:33 The start of this sequence of each hiker in a portrait shot is one of the best sequences from this video. I like how you give each space and time in the shot. Depth of field is dreamy. And this sequence fits the “Trail Company” theme really nicely, too.
    - 6:40 It makes my soul happy to hear the Durston cameo 😊
    - 7:29 You also got a cool shot of breaking down a tent only to reveal another stinky hiker behind you. Cool! I promise I didn’t copy haha
    - 7:43 “Good site.” Indeed it was! Given the possible campsite locations (or lack thereof), this turned out to be quite homey and cozy with all the space and amenities we needed!
    - 7:56 Love the steamy light peering through the trees in this shot.
    - 8:33 Macro shot FTW! I never noticed the wrinkles in this little guy’s abdomen until you got it here. Amazing detail.
    - 8:50 He was so chill before that local hiker assaulted him 😉
    - 9:17 Pack mule Terry FTW! That was such a kind thing to for Nick during the throes of his injury. Not many UL guys would sacrifice their weight for a fellow brother in the woods.
    - 10:13 “Congrats Nick!” I love this audio capture. This hike was in a way dedicated for him, in order to get redemption after his previous two attempts of it.
    - 10:49 Celebratory hiking pole chucks needs to become a regular BTC sequence. This is two videos, now!
    - 10:54 Those are some hot, steamy buns right there (literally, my shorts were drenched with sweat hahahahaha)
    - 11:01 LOL I totally forgot about the rippity rip of the first batch of shrooms! This was sad and also hilarious to watch.
    - 11:07 Nick is getting into a habit of “peak bagging” us. This is two videos of him, now, too! Hahaha
    - 11:14 I love how nonchalant you are in the background as Big Chungus falls for the 739th time on trail “Oh it’s alright”. You are so used to it at this point lolol.
    - 11:22 I totally forgot about the frantic running and FORGETTING of your camera! I’m you caught my embarrassment on video.
    - 11:59 Welcome back, indeed!
I had so much fun rewatching this! Another great episode of BTC, brother. You craft keeps expanding, and I am always impressed at the end of each new video for some shot or sequence you haven’t done before. That is inspiring and motivating to see and watch. I hope you are resting nicely in an Adirondack shelter right now, getting pumped to finish the LHT tomorrow! Pre-congrats are already in order!!

Thank you very much for the comments! After struggling to decide what to do with the relatively small amount of footage from this trip, I'm glad to hear it worked for you story-wise. And audio-wise. I think I spent more time on the audio for this one than any other part of it.
      - Sulking is only natural! I still wish you could have experienced the LHT with us. Maybe we'll return for a NOBO thru-hike one day...
      - Thanks again for figuring out a way for me to join you on the trail. There would have been a lot more sulking otherwise!
      - It's funny you mention the colors of the morel because I just left you a comment gushing about your colors on your video 😅
      - The weird mushrooms are Devil's urns, I think.
      - I wish I could have framed our meeting in the woods a little better, but I'm very glad I managed to get it on camera!
      - Those grasses gave me a lot of cool shots. Half of them didn't even make the video.
      - Glad to be of service with the chicken of the woods!
      - The campfire sequence is my favorite part of this video. I had been wanting to do something like that for a while. I'll try to perfect the technique in future videos.
      - Haha, I also thought it was funny that we both had a shot where a tent collapses to reveal another stinky hiker.
      - That poor salamander! I hope his PTSD isn't too bad from that vicious hiker assault.
      - I didn't even notice that you could hear me saying congrats to Nick! I definitely thought of this as his hike, and I'm glad that he was finally able to get the monkey off his back.
      - I think there might already be another pole-chucking shot in the backlog somewhere 😂
      - This might have been a short video, but you guys gave me a nice long blooper reel, haha. Nick's peakbagging and your running make me laugh every time 😋
I believe I was resting in an Adirondack shelter when I read this for the first time. Thanks for the pre-congrats 😉 I always enjoy trying new things with my videos. The day I run out of new things to try is probably the day my channel will end! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and give me feedback. Hopefully I'll have a new one up soon!
