- Today I'm going over how to transfer your Capital One Miles to utilize them for partner award travel, going through the process step by step. The example in the video is with Capital One to Turkish Miles&Smiles but the process is the same for any of the available transfer partners.

Can I use Capitol One Miles to upgrade an existing American Airlines Reservation
Thank you for your video! I have a trip from phoenix to Barcelona booked by my company and I’m looking into upgrading the cabin from economy to executive. The trip is added to my United App and I can see that an upgrade would cost me 20,000 points + $300. I only have 4,000 miles with United because I don't fly United frequently. Do you think I could transfer 20,000 miles from my capital one to Turkish Airlines, and then transfer it to United?
The transfer would only work in this case if you were going to book United using your Turkish Airlines miles you moved over from C1. It sounds like since it's for an upgrade, the point transfer scenario wouldn't apply. That being said, I would personally use 20k points for another trip in itself since that's a lot of miles you could use for even some business class services from the start.
Do u have both Venture and Venture X? Are we able to combine points from both card into one?
I actually upgraded my Venture to the Venture X recently but yes if you have multiple Capital One cards that accrue miles you can use them from whichever card you want to transfer from, or move them to a single card since they are under the same account.
But this means we miss out on x5 points if we don’t book through the venture X portal?
So actually no, from my experience you still get the 5x multiplier even if you book direct with the airline. I found that out recently when I booked part of my trip with a credit and the rest on my card.
This is awesome, you break it down very simply! Now I'm curious, what kind of flight tickets can be purchased using this conversion? Was that 7,500 point flight for their basic economy? How does that work?
I'm glad to hear that, and yes for the specific example with Turkish Miles&Smiles in this video, the 7500 points is for economy class tickets on United. If you search award seats on most airline partner websites, there will be an option to select for economy, business, or first class. It will generally specify on the results page what class/fare of ticket you are seeing.
How do you know where to look for the reward flights?
Check out the other videos on my channel, I've made quite a few videos on the ways to find award seats!
