I used to reproduce that box 20+ years ago. I had photos and some measurements to go from. It had a white buff sling also. This must have been the same box. It was about the same size as the US Model 1839 box, but it had no seam on the back.

Most of mine fought in the 36th Alabama infantry company H but I’ve got 2 who fought in the 8th Alabama infantry the 20th Alabama infantry 3rd Alabama infantry wetumpka guards and 1 in the 17th Louisiana infantry
And one in the 44th Alabama infantry for about a year then took a “vacation” but we don’t really talk about him lol

I was lucky and got 2 confederate buttons that were in hank jrs collection for years, i also have his autograph, shiloh relics is hands down the best place to by stuff, last button i got was a excavated NC military Academy that had all the gold showing perfectly, and a little piece of actual uniform. Rafael knows his stuff and i wouldn't buy from anyone else

This is brilliant, I would love to have one, however, as of now I only have one thing from the civil war, it is a decent pistol box witch i got a pretty good deal on, i paid 85 dollars for it. As for now, I have my eye on a Union Model 1861 box, and maybe a Union Cap Box.
It’s a shame the cap pouch and strap it’s not kept all together with this. But of course this is a business
